"Ritz lived up to its name"
So much to say that was good. Our TV didn't work properly, and the hotel's response was immediate. They sent someone up to fix it; then they deducted the price of the movie from our bill. Bathroom had two sinks. Bed was comfy. Thermostat easy to use and effective. Great view. "Favorite Chicago hotel"
Not much to say -- it's the Ritz Carlton, and while you pay top dollar, the service and amenities are what you would expect. We stayed Thanksgiving night. The hotel connects directly to Water Tower Place, which was very convenient for shopping, allowing us to leave packages in the room. My only complaint was about the Thanksgiving buffet in the 12th […] floor lobby (at $135 a person, my fiancee and I had already decided to find dinner elsewhere). Something on the buffet smelled awful (a very gamey meat of some kind) and the odor blasted us as we came out of the elevators. It wasn't just me, because my fiancee nearly retched as we walked back through the lobby after checking in. "MAINTENANCE OVERSITES"
Loved the location and service of the hotel. BUT it too 8 visits of the engineer to finally fix the thermostat to control the air-conditioning. Very annoying! Try getting ready in a hot room. Also missing was a second chair to relax in. Only one chair and one ottoman. How hard would it have been to put another chair and both could use the ottoman. Hotel was very nice, and located in the heart of Downtown. We were in the water place tower which was perfect especially cause it was raining Sunday. Our children got a cookie, gummie bears, and a juice. First night our Ac wasn't working in both rooms which according to them does not happen. Service guy tried to fix it, but got it to work for ten mns. […] They upgraded our room next day to wonderful sweet which we loved, but after the upgrade my children no longer got their goodies!? this hotel is in a great location for shopping the Miracle Mile or a short walk to the Navy Pier. My two young girls loved the hotel candyman visit to our room! They really do a great job for families with children. The concierge service is excellent! They arranged tickets for the Shedd aquarium and we didn't have to wait in line when we got there.
