"Not worth it..."
Overpriced very SMALL buisness king suite.... Got treated pretty crumby because we had never been there before & didn't have their fancy points! Barely enough room to move around in this OLD room! Wasn't very clean either... Not impressed at all for the 250 bucks I spent on it for one night! Don't recommend! I know I won't be going back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nickle and dime"
Everything had an up charge. A very expensive up charge. I was surprised about the $15 per day charge the use of the weight room and pool. Internet access was expensive. Kitty o'Sheas was closed. The snack shop charged more than the vending machines for a soda. Room service left trays of food on the floor for a full day. And this was on the executive […] level. Housekeeping did not stock clean towels. Just took the dirty ones and never replaced with fresh towels. Shampoo and toiletries were not replaced On a positive note. The bed was comfortable. "Poor Service"
While this hotel is in a great location, we had very poor service. First, we checked in to a two-bed room and were sent to a room with 1 king bed (for 4 of us!) on the 16th floor. Had to go back down to get new keys for a different room. Then housekeeping didn't clean our room while we were gone all day at the aquarium. We called and they said they […] would come while we were out to dinner. Again, they didn't come. Asked again for them to come while we were at the pool in the evening, they didn't. They finally showed up with a stack of sheets and towels at 9:30pm. Nice hotel, but unacceptable service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Did not live up to expectations"
I was booked in a room on the 8th floor originally but I wanted to upgrade to a room with a view of the Lake. The clerk stated that it would be an additional 25.00 per night which was fine. Then she said there were no rooms available but she would upgrade us to a room with a view of the city on the 13th floor. We got to the room there was no view just […] a loud train that came by what seems to be every 15 to 20 minutes. The bathroom tub was not clean and there was tissue still on the floor when we checked in. We proceeded to leave the room on Friday March 29th to find we have a caution sign across our door. I went to the front desk and spoke to the manager on duty at the time to ask about the caution tape on the door and no he knew nothing about it. I was sent to 3 different people to including Concierge and the Security until finally I got tired of being blown off. The manager finally came up to the room to see for himself only to tell me that they are working on the carpet in the hallway. I was thoroughly disappointed. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Disappointing experience!"
I dont' normally take the time to write reviews but this was NOT a good stay and thought I should share our experience. We stayed in a king room on the 15th floor....here are my complaints: Bed was incredibly uncomfortable. It was way too soft and anywhere near the edge you'd feel like you're going to fall off. The box springs was another mattress […] I think. Tiny room...not enough space for a desk and chest of drawers. Computer screen on desk would not turn off...too bright and right next to the bed...we ended up unplugging it to get it off. A/C wouldn't come on...it was a warm weekend in Chicago and our room was HOT Only 2 towels and no bathmat or towel to step on. Clock radio had an alarm set for 4:45am....we had no idea until 4:45 am came....I tried shutting off...unplugged it even and it still came on because of battery back up. Parking is ridiculous...to self park they charged 45/night claiming you can come and go as you like with front desk validating your ticket. We tried to leave and had to sit there (no one works in this area) and couldn't get out...ended up having to reverse out of the exit and go back to valet area to get let out. They charge for wifi in your room (most other hotels in that area it's free) Not worth the money. Only positives...Xmas decor was beautiful...their tree in the lobby was gorgeous. Location is great if you're heading to Soldier Field! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Was hoping for better considering the ratings"
The lights didn't work in the bathroom. There were cleaning rags left in the room. It was always hot even when we changed the temp on the gage. There was a dirty rag left in the bathtub. It was disgusting! The only pleasant person was the doorman!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"3rd Party"
When I arrived they said they didn't have the room I had purchased available, then stated they don't guarantee 3rd party bookings. They wanted to give me two twins when I requested a king, they finally gave me a king but downgraded the room. Then to add insult they said they would give me a free business class card so I could use the business center […] and healthclub, but when I pointed out that is what I paid for in the first place, they didn't offer anything else. "Lack of Cleanliness"
For the price of the hotel, I was shocked at the lack of cleanliness. Bathroom floors and inside of tub was just gross. Furniture didn't appear to be wiped down, and there was even a "Happy Birthday" balloon left over from the last guest. Taking a quick peek at another floor, it is possible that this was not a floor (17) that has been updated yet, but […] I was disappointed with the grimy feeling I got from the room, despite it being as prestigious of a hotel as the Hilton. "Very disappointed"
This hotel is in major need of a renovation. The carpet throughout the hotel and rooms is dreadful, the hotel has a musky smell, and it just wasn't a very pleasant stay. "Not so romantic getaway"
My fiancé and I were hoping for a better view of the city. When we got to our room we were disappointed not only with the limited view but lack of conveniences. There was no refridgerator or microwave! As a couple on vacation it would have been nice to be able to bring our leftover pizza back to the hotel. Also, there was no complementary anything, […] not breakfast or parking. The room was somewhat dated and dirty. We found black hair in the bathtub. I called the front desk for a room upgrade and none were available. Also I had asked about a late checkout and this was not an option. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was in a convienent location but when I visit again I will stay elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Didn't Get What We Paid For!!"
We made the reservation for a Lake (Michigan) view, handicapped accessible, king bed with a pullout (couch). When we arrived, there were no handicapped rooms available, the Lake view room was apparently 'pre-signed' for by someone for the FOLLOWING night, and magically, neither were there queen beds. So, we got 2 doubles, a view of an adjacent motel […] wing and the room overall was WAY too small for the cost. To make matters worse, Internet was not included with the price of the room, but was available for an additional $15.99/day. Since all of the self-park lot was full when we arrived at 5:00 p.m., only other option was valet parking for an additional $57/day. Needless to say, I won't be going to Chicago (or Hilton) anytime soon. I wouldn't recommend Expedia 'deals' at ALL!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Poor Service"
My boyfriend and I decided to have the weekend away in Chicago. I booked and paid for a room with a King Bed. However, upon arrival they told me that they did not have any rooms with King Beds available so I was forced to stay in a room with two double beds. After voicing my disappointment in this matter, they did nothing to lessen it or make up for […] the fact that I did not get what I paid for. I did not appreciate this. The AC made a rattling noise all night that made it difficult to sleep. I pointed it out to a staff member who came into the room and also heard it. "Employees need a lesson in service."
Very uninformative at registration desk. I think when they saw it was just a single mom and her son they automatically believed it was ok to lower their standards, and that goes to the entire staff, including the restaurant. Concierge employees always in a hurry to help u and give directions, very quick responses, like they were being bothered by us. […] Arrived at restaurant before 10 pm closing, hostess was quick to warn my son and I we better order before 10 cause kitchen closed at 10. So we did, she didn't give us a bread basket, had to ask for one from another the guy filling waters, never saw a waiter. Hostess took order and delivered food, gave us bread basket with hair in it. She served my salad with my dinner at the same time, needless to say, my dinner was cold and had to return it. Meanwhile, they sat a table of 4 AFTER us, did not give them warning, and waiter was waiting on them hand and foot. I guess my son and I were not worth it. Asked for extra luggage rack, none showed up. Couldn't sleep all weekend from the noise off Michigan avenue. Far from shopping/navy pier. At least a mile from Aquarium/Field museum, 2 miles from planetarium. We left our bags in hotel baggage holding area upon check out, $2 a bag to simply have our bag sit there, usually hotels offer this as a complimentary service, wanted to charge me for laundry bag/purse attached to luggage handle and guard spoke to me with raised/annoyed voice explaining the $2 rule. After paying so much money for a lakeview room as a treat for my parents, I was so upset about our stay. The AC did not work well at all. Woke up to 79 temp. I called to complain. "The Chicago Hilton on Michigan Ave."
Terrible experience. I thought it was going to be a romantic get away and it was not at all. There was DIRT in my bed sheets - crumbs everywhere! Unbelievable - I had to strip the bed and shake the sheets before I could sleep in them. If I wasn't so exhausted I would have called room service - yet, there is a $5.00 room service fee attached to almost […] everything so maybe not. I wanted someone to bring me a bottle opener for the special occasion wine I had brought and they told me it would cost me $5.00! Seriously? Then again they charged me an arm and a leg for a blasted no-named water by the pool too. I thought it was a 4 star hotel? I do not appreciate being nickeled and dimed for silly services that should be for free. I've stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels and I have never been charged for a spa water or $5.00 to open wine that I BROUGHT! By the way, my window view was of 2 big brick walls and nothing else. It felt like I was in jail. Don't stay at this hotel unless you want to be ripped off and you don't mind dirt in your bed - hey, maybe it was even bed bugs who knows! Don't chance it!!!!!! In addition to room fees, […] they charged 40USD for 5 days internet access, as well as 25USD for gym access, which is a bit offensive (given the room cost was relatively expensive and that these "extras" do not actually cost that much to provide).
