"Highly recommended"
Second year in a row that we stayed here. Love it and the new makeover. Perfect location, great restaurants, best (and longest) bar in the city. Highly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"NEVER AGAIN! Don't book it!"
NEVER, NEVER AGAIN! Our trip was ruined by this hotel. I will say that I was credited 2 of the three nights back to my credit card, but this stay was horrible. We were on the top floor (36th) with all the suites. Our room, 3611, was beside the Presidential Suite and had a doorway that separated us from the other rooms on that floor. Four times in the […] 1st two nights I had to call security to open the "special door" so we could get in our room. On our 2nd night after going to sleep around 11/11:30 pm, we were awakened by the Presidential Suites at 1:30am with their party dispersing in our hallway. I called security. They came up and starting apologizing to the party but asked if they could lower the noise. I was furious! But at 3 am with the noise still going on, I went to the front desk to complain. Needless to say, I didn't sleep that night. I was told I could switch rooms, but I didn't want to have to pack our clothes and unpack at 3am. We were put in a mini suite the next day around 4pm. It was awesome (sarcasm) packing up and unloading into another room at 4 then repack the next morning to go home. BOTTOM LINE...Chicago is a great city! But, book another hotel! "Great Time"
Staff was helpful and courteous. Getting Car out of Valet parking was a bit more of a cluster than you would think it should be. Overall it was a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beautiful view."
We arrived about 1pm and they had our room ready for us. Room was very clean. Beds were comfortable. The view out our window looked out toward the lake and Navy Pier. Taxis were readily accessible. Busses at the corner of wacker and Michigan. Short block away. Would go back again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

construction was unfortunate. Missed the big bar, but stay was alright...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Crowded, chaotic, and not at all relaxing"
Hotel is undergoing some reonvations to the check-in area, restaurant, and main bar, so things are moved around, crowded, and chaotic. Check-in area was overcrowded, too close to other things happening in the hotel. Change in valet parking location was not posted anywhere, and was a zoo to get to. If you can avoid this hotel until the renovations are […] complete, I encourage you to do so. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall a very pleasant experience, just a couple of minor issues with the cleaniness of the room. The room had a great veiw overlooking the river and the Navy pier and the location was perfect for where we wanted to be. We would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place downtown. Close to everything."
Great hotel. Wonderful views of downtown. Very helpful staff. Having to pay $13 for 1 day of wi-fi is completely nonsense though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overall, a good experience"
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for a weekend with some friends. The hotel was nice but the 'view' was terrible (we were offered an upgrade for a better view for a slight nightly increase in price). The staff was courteous and helpful. The room itself was comfortable and well-maintained. There was construction going on in the hotel's other tower […] that served only as a minor inconvenience to us. I do have two complaints though. First of all, I'm sick of 'high quality' hotels trying to charge an extra daily rate for internet service. If McDonald's can provide free Wi-Fi, I'd like to think a 4-star hotel can handle that. Also, when I arrived in my room, I noticed that the mini-bar wasn't completely stocked. I called down to the front desk to let them know and to ensure I would not be charged for these items that never made it into my room. I was assured this would not be a problem. Well, what do you know but when I checked out I saw a mini-bar charge added to my account. When I called down they did correct the error but it I found it frustrating, as I believe the entire process was designed to sneak some extra money out of the guest. "Very disappointed"
I stayed at this Hyatt location twice before but was quite some time ago (about 9 yrs)... The hotel was vibrant, up to date rooms and a great night life. I was happy to see the price decreased for Valentines weekend and planned a 2day stay. When I arrived, everything was under construction! The valet area was a tight cluster but the workers were very […] helpful. I was disappointed that my room decor and carpeting was a bit dated. I also had to check in at one tower, go up a floor, walk across to second tower through a social dining are and down a long hall to next set of elevators to get to my room. The next night their parking garage was full so had to park down the street in another park structure and walk in the bitter cold back to hotel. I know what this hotel can be so I hope they renovate their basic rooms along with the lobbies. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel in downtown"
I have nothing but great things to say about this hotel. The rooms were fantastic, super clean and had many amenities. The location was walking distance from many of the major sights and things to do in downtown Chicago. There was an issue when we got there with our room not yet being cleaned since we checked in as soon as possible, but this was corrected […] very quickly and efficiently by the Hotel staff. Staff was very courteous and helpful with anything we needed. Active on Social Media to help with things from the comfort of your room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"the good and the bad"
great hotel, great service, great area -- however, the great experience was offset by the Hotels neglect to tell me that during my stay, a good portion of the Hotel will be closed for a period of time. I was not told of this until I and my guests were checking in. Such information should be included in an advisory e-mail days prior to the guests stay. […] Parking is strictly Valet so you don't have much of a choice but to hand over your car at rates I didn't particularly agree with. However, the employees of the hotel were more than helpful and there was enough of them there to help everyone. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible service. Blood on the sheets"
Went there for New Years and right off the bat the front desk was rude and stern. Told us we had to pay extra for wrist bands just so we could get past a gard to get into the room we prepaid for a month in advance. I called a week in advance to ask for 2 rooms to be near each other or at least on the same floor. The lady told me it was "taken care of, […] no problem" and then asked them again at check in and the said it was taken care o . When our friends checked in, they were 11 floors away, in a different building. Then on new years night there was blood on the sheets of the bed and it was impossible to get a hold of the Front desk. Then when I called to ask about a bogus charge we had to get removed from our account for the mini bar the customer service again was horrible as the lady just interrupted me and was extremely condescending. I've worked at 3 hotels in my life, and this hotel has the worst hotel customer service I've encountered. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to shops along State street and Mag Mile"
I always enjoy staying the Hyatt. Great location close to shops along State street and Mag Mile. Even the Hyatt was under construction, they made everything very easy for us. The rooms are spacious, clean, and modern. I will definitely stay again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Convenient location...comfy beds"
Great location. Walked to pier, shopping, dining and red line to catch train to cubs game. Beds were comfortable, room was modern, and great location on 5th floor. Check in was smooth, Erik at front desk was very nice and accommodating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"two rooms connecting"
The Hotel is good, but one disappointment. We booked two rooms next or connect to each other and received confirmation. But, when we got there we were informed there were no rooms available, so we have to settle with across room. If we had children, that will cause a big problem.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
