    Overview

    Location.
    The Hotel Allegro Chicago is located in the Loop's theater and business district in Chicago, Ill. This property stands adjacent to the Cadillac Palace Theatre, while Magnificent Mile shops and restaurants are located one mile from the hotel.

    Hotel Features.
    The lobby displays theatrical influences with bursts of ruby-red, burnt-orange and forest-green hues offset by granite grays and ocean blues underfoot. A baby grand piano is positioned next to a double-sided fireplace that anchors the lobby's 3-story staircase. The hotel's 312 Chicago restaurant captures Old World charm with a menu dominated by family recipes that enrich contemporary Italian flavors. Encore is a lunch venue by day, but transforms into a liquid lounge with 2 bars by night. The hotel hosts complimentary wine receptions every evening. Art Deco fixtures and oversized windows add interest to the hotel's 14,000 square feet of function space. Wired and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel (surcharge). The 24-hour fitness facility is equipped with cardiovascular and weight-training machines, free weights and yoga balls. The concierge schedules in-room massage therapy upon request. Pets are permitted.

    The 19-story Hotel Allegro Chicago offers 483 contemporary nonsmoking guestrooms decorated in royal blue, mocha-brown and silver-gray tones. Lights cast star-patterned shadows against sky-blue ceilings. Rooms include air conditioning and climate control, wired and wireless Internet access (surcharge), flat-screen televisions and MP3 adaptors, and a complimentary weekday newspaper. Bed design includes pillowtop mattresses draped with 300-thread count linens and white duvets. Suites boast jetted bathtubs, designer toiletries and zebra-print bathrobes. Honor bars are fully stocked. The hotel offers yoga baskets upon request, and the Kimpton yoga channel broadcasts guided yoga sessions.

    The location and price can't be beat. This is an updated older hotel. High ceilings, classic facing on the elevators, nice lobby, nice staff. Very pleasant place to stay in the heart of the city, convenient to the El (and, thus, to O'Hare via the blue line), and even within a (longish) walk to Union Station.

    My main criticism is the size of the room and its decor. I'm not sure when the rooms were last decorated but the room looked like it had either been decorated a LONG time ago or was rushed when it was done if done so recently.     A great location, rooms are small, but nice. It seemed like this used to be an older hotel, but it's been redone in a really nice way. The wine social was busy and the wines were so so, but free! The bar in the Hotel had great drinks and am amazing bar tender. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

    Needed a hotel in the middle of everything for a girlfriends all-weekend bachelorette party. Found a great weekend deal here at the last minute! Location was superb. Svc was standard, but disappointed to get off elevators to my floor and immediately found out my room was directly in front of the elevator and svc lounge:( . from the looks of it, the […] 4/5 doors you see directly stepping off the elevator all must be the 'value' rooms b/c they all had kicked in and scuffed up bases. Not very attractive or inviting. Only made you wonder what you were about to see when you walked into your room. Once you walked into the room , small but expected city small. decor very appealing, but could also tell we had an old 'used a lot' room. Room wallpaper buckling because of damp moisture seeping in cracks I assume, overall felt kind of dingy. And view from my window ? A large high-rise parking lot where you could definitely be the witness of an SVU-esque scene:/. and one the the train lines (not too loud-u could get sleep easily). I would suggest that if you are going to have the first four rooms directly across from the elevator as the "value' and weekend discount rooms, maybe re-painting the doors and sprucing up the overall interior to the rooms would be valuable and well appreciated.     I wasn't pleased at all with this Hotel, overpriced rooms were small the bathroom was like a closet,and the closet was so small that my items i hung went flat.you could only watch 5 channels on television. The walls were paper thin that I was answering to the other guest on both sides of me,so you can just imagine what my night was like, no sleep at […] all.     it was a beautiful hotel! The room was a little small, and so was the bathroom. the shower head could have worked a lil better. but all in all we were there for only 1 night and it was comfortable and worked great for us. lil expensive on other items but a great hotel

    What a great hotel! We checked in just as happy hour was starting in their very and large lobby/reception area. It included complimentary beer and wine, and as an added treat, a server came around with small pastries. The hotel makes everyone feel so at ease, it was easy to just sit down on one of their many couches and chat with a complete stranger. […] We talked with a man (and his dog) who told us he's stayed at many hotels in Chicago, and this one is definitely the best for the price.     Nice trendy hotel with great service. The room is pretty small but there is enough room to move around and the bathroom spacious. The 312 restaurant that is attached is amazing. The food was great and the service was even better. They had a nice three course meal for $36 and worth every penny! Walgreens, McDonalds, Corner Bakery were all within walking […] distance.     We have stayed at Kimpton Hotels in the past (DC & Chicago) and enjoyed our stays. They are definitely all about customer service. It was my husband's birthday the first time we stayed at Palomar(DC) and they wished him a Happy Birthday when we walked in, he was amazed. Gave him a bottle of wine & chocolates on the day of his birthday. I joined Kimpton […] In Touch after that. This time it was my daughter's Bday and I called ahead to tell them, told them I was an In Touch member and they were so nice. They had a bottle of sparkling grape juice and chocolate cake waiting for her. So nice! I always love the decor in both the lobby and rooms.     The hotel is beautiful, but the other guests at the hotel were less than par. Between domestic disputes in the very early AM hours, to gentleman forcing their way into the tiny hotels elevators with their horrible body stench and subpar overall hotel customer service i will not be returning. Sad, it is absolutely a beautiful hotel.

    This was a fantastic romantic stay. The service staff were very pleasant and were kind and caring enough to send us a bottle of wine and fruit plate for my gilfriend's birthday. Would recommend and stay here again. It certainly added romance and charm.

    Stayed here briefly for one night (New Year's Eve). Nice, clean south loop hotel conveniently located close to Union Station. Being New Year's Eve, there was a lot of activity in the hotel lobby/lounge area but it didn't bother me too much since I was fast asleep once I hit my bed on the 8th floor. Would recommend and return.
