My main criticism is the size of the room and its decor. I'm not sure when the rooms were last decorated but the room looked like it had either been decorated a LONG time ago or was rushed when it was done if done so recently. "Don't stay here if you want to sleep"
Stayed on the 11th floor. There are only 3 elevators and the wait time for the elevator is atrocious. From the Ground floor to the Lobby you might as well just walk the stairs. The hotel is nearby the L, and you'll get the hear the train every few minutes or so passing by, even after midnight. It seemed popular with folks with dogs and the young & […] "hip" crowd, I don't know if they like it because of the wine reception or because they don't need to sleep at all. The bed wasn't great: soft enough but the springs were creaking (I'm medium build & average weight), and any movement aside from turning in bed while you sleep will generate noise that's distracting if you use your hotel bed for reasons other than sleep. Bathroom is roomy - wish they could have utilized some of that space for the room itself. I liked the USB charging ports in the room on the night stand. $51/day for valet parking - unless you want to walk across the street in the elements (was 10F when I stayed), and paying 1/3 more for parking was ludicrous, but not uncommon in Chicago. This was the smallest hotel room and bathroom that I have ever seen! The bed was supposedly a queen but I would say that it was more like a double bed. The room may have been okay in a pinch for one person but for two people it was decidedly cramped. I guess the old adage 'you get what you pay for' applies here. Supposedly rated a 4 star hotel but the quality of the room i thought didn't reflect that. The walls were extremely thin - could hear people talking next door amongst other things.
