    Location.
    The Hotel Allegro Chicago is located in the Loop's theater and business district in Chicago, Ill. This property stands adjacent to the Cadillac Palace Theatre, while Magnificent Mile shops and restaurants are located one mile from the hotel.

    Hotel Features.
    The lobby displays theatrical influences with bursts of ruby-red, burnt-orange and forest-green hues offset by granite grays and ocean blues underfoot. A baby grand piano is positioned next to a double-sided fireplace that anchors the lobby's 3-story staircase. The hotel's 312 Chicago restaurant captures Old World charm with a menu dominated by family recipes that enrich contemporary Italian flavors. Encore is a lunch venue by day, but transforms into a liquid lounge with 2 bars by night. The hotel hosts complimentary wine receptions every evening. Art Deco fixtures and oversized windows add interest to the hotel's 14,000 square feet of function space. Wired and wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel (surcharge). The 24-hour fitness facility is equipped with cardiovascular and weight-training machines, free weights and yoga balls. The concierge schedules in-room massage therapy upon request. Pets are permitted.

    The 19-story Hotel Allegro Chicago offers 483 contemporary nonsmoking guestrooms decorated in royal blue, mocha-brown and silver-gray tones. Lights cast star-patterned shadows against sky-blue ceilings. Rooms include air conditioning and climate control, wired and wireless Internet access (surcharge), flat-screen televisions and MP3 adaptors, and a complimentary weekday newspaper. Bed design includes pillowtop mattresses draped with 300-thread count linens and white duvets. Suites boast jetted bathtubs, designer toiletries and zebra-print bathrobes. Honor bars are fully stocked. The hotel offers yoga baskets upon request, and the Kimpton yoga channel broadcasts guided yoga sessions.

I'm not sure when the rooms were last decorated but the room looked like it had either been decorated a LONG time ago or was rushed when it was done if done so recently.     Stayed on the 11th floor. There are only 3 elevators and the wait time for the elevator is atrocious. From the Ground floor to the Lobby you might as well just walk the stairs. The hotel is nearby the L, and you'll get the hear the train every few minutes or so passing by, even after midnight. It seemed popular with folks with dogs and the young & […] "hip" crowd, I don't know if they like it because of the wine reception or because they don't need to sleep at all. The bed wasn't great: soft enough but the springs were creaking (I'm medium build & average weight), and any movement aside from turning in bed while you sleep will generate noise that's distracting if you use your hotel bed for reasons other than sleep. Bathroom is roomy - wish they could have utilized some of that space for the room itself. I liked the USB charging ports in the room on the night stand. $51/day for valet parking - unless you want to walk across the street in the elements (was 10F when I stayed), and paying 1/3 more for parking was ludicrous, but not uncommon in Chicago. The Sheraton and Hyatt both offers connected self-parking structures. Overall I would not stay at this hotel again. Read more

    The hotel itself was fine with a very nice wine/beer reception during happy hour. Our room was very clean and neat but tiny. We had to choose who was going to be going around the bed or in the bathroom as there was not enough room for two.

    This was the smallest hotel room and bathroom that I have ever seen! The bed was supposedly a queen but I would say that it was more like a double bed. The room may have been okay in a pinch for one person but for two people it was decidedly cramped. I guess the old adage 'you get what you pay for' applies here. Our experience with booking 40% off rooms […] through Expedia up till now has been excellent but we will not be booking a 40% off room in the Chicago theater district again - rather we will stick to the hotels that we already know and pay the extra tariff.     The hotel stops serving food including room service at 11pm. We were starving when we got back to the hotel and could not get anything to eat. We had to go back out in the rain. The rooms are very small, but nicely decorated and clean.

    the overall experience was good, the happy hour was fun the location is great. No refrigerator in the room was a problem as was no dresser. The sink was so little that you got totally wet when washing your face.

    Parking is expensive .. $51/night. Warm room thermostats set ion 66 but felt like 76. Its a really old hotel with a facelift but they left out some details. Walls really thin, tiny bathroom and the complimentary wine hour was nice but the time slot is hard to reach.

    Supposedly rated a 4 star hotel but the quality of the room i thought didn't reflect that. The walls were extremely thin - could hear people talking next door amongst other things. The room was incredibly small - the queen size bed took up the vast majority of it. For a large person the bathroom would be almost unusable.

    The location is great - BUT - to pay $50 a day for parking is RIDICULOUS! I think I could excuse this, but the size of the room, ESPECIALLY the bathroom was also PATHETIC. The personnel was great, but it does not make up for the size of the bathroom and closet. There was also no room to store your clothes. We had to leave them in the suitcase.
