The landmark Brooklyn Bridge links Manhattan with the city’s most populous borough. Waterfront Brooklyn Heights offers superb views of Lower Manhattan. Renowned for its brownstones and leafy neighborhoods, Brooklyn embodies America’s “melting pot.” Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Jewish communities add to the cultural mix. Highlights include Coney Island, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Museum of Art.

There is really no space available in the room with 2 double beds. Also, the location was not very nice. It really didn't invite to go out and walk around the neighborhood, especially at night. "Great Location | Hip casual luxury"
Great hotel overall, I'm definitely sold on the Aloft brand of hotels as this was my first stay. Loved the free wifi in room and free gym access. Manager was great and staff extra helpful and charming across the board. Construction in the area didn't disturb me much at all and while the hotel was sold out one of the nights I was there I wasn't kept […] awake by rowdy guests. The only downsides were that my room carpet wasn't as clean as it could have been and the door needed to be wiped down. Location near Brooklyn Heights was fantastic. Plenty of shopping and food options to be had at various price points. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Pleasantly surprised at the location. The costs were really inexpensive and great service. Highly recommended for NY on a budget.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Overnight stay at Aloft"
My husband and I stayed for a overnight trip for a family engagement dinner. The hotel was just what we needed. Convenient to the subway system, within walking distance of stores and eateries, and quiet and clean. The staff was helpful and made sure to move our room upon check-in when they realized we would be beneath the rooftop lounge and it would […] be loud. The rooms were clean and very trendy looking. Very quiet which is unusual in New York. Would stay here again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice but small room"
The quality of the room is fine and it is very modern. However, it is also very small. It's good for a 1-2 night stay. The hotel staff was lovely.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"two glitches in what was otherwise a good stay"
Aloft in downtown Brooklyn was a good choice given that I needed to be near BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music) one nite and near Manhattan the next. The room is small but well designed. the rest of the hotel is hip looking. The two glitches were -- pkg really is around the corner on the next street and depending on tolerance level and ability to shlep […] your bags -- that might be an issue. It was also more expensive than I thought it would be. The other glitch was that a boiler blew, and my last morning I had no hot water. Given that what you want out of a NYC hotel room is a nice bed, a tv, and a hot shower, I wasn't happy. The manager gave me 10,000 Starwood points as compensation, but not until I had received a certain amount of skeptical attitude from another staff member. My last comment is not really a complaint about a glitch but about the by now tired excuse that hotel staff sometimes use of 'well you booked through hotels.com, so we can't....." -- fill in the blank. It's been years, we all know people use third party travel sites to book and I do not ever want to hear a hotel complain about having rooms filled by a third party site. If they wish to offer less than full service for using a third party site, they should state that on their website. Otherwise, treat me like any other guest. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A not so worth it city view."
Paid extra for a city view, got put on fourth floor with view of old buildings being torn down. Construction crews could be heard through the thin windows~Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall great option if you need to stay near downtown Brooklyn. Easy to walk to almost any of the surrounding neighborhoods like Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, etc. and easy subway access to Manhattan and the airport. Had an overall trendy feel, but wasn't super luxurious. Staff was polite and helpful. Rooms were slightly small, but nice […] and clean. Might want to bring your own shampoo/conditioner since they only had the 2in1 stuff in the shower. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Leaky Windows"
The leaky windows made for some cold drafts, the coffee pods are TERRIBLE, and the remote didn't work. I finally brought remote to front desk. Was told someone from engineering would be right up with replacement. Replacement never came. The room's wi-fi was turned off an hour before check-out...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but spacious"
The Aloft is one of an increasing number of trendy, "modern," boutique hotels in Brooklyn. I've stayed at several, and this one has become my favorite, mainly because of the design of the rooms. All the aforementioned hotels have small rooms, but this one is not over-furnished so it seems relatively roomy, and what furnishings it has are very comfortable […] and attractive. Great king-sized bed. I've discovered that too much furniture in one of these small rooms leads to stubbed toes. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions. The surrounding neighborhood is not very attractive, but hotel is located within a couple blocks of 2 subway stops, so getting to Manhattan and other parts of Brooklyn was pretty easy. Also, the hotel is 3 blocks from Junior's and its legendary cheesecake. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, convenient location, comfortable bed."
The room was small; but, adequate and very clean. The service was great. The location was convenient to places I wanted to get to. I would stay there again in a minute!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not totally satisfied...."
The hotel itself was fine. But it is too far from Brooklyn Heights and the parking is too expensive @ $39/night. A free, light breakfast or fruit would be nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was friendly & the room was clean & efficiently modern. The downside is the absence of a bathtub! The room service was prompt & good overall ... Considering the location.., nonetheless we enjoyed our vacay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel had a fun, funkiness about it. The bed was comfortable. Well used spaced. However, the biggest flaw was the acoustics. I could hear the guy sneezing in the next room. You can hear people out in the hall as if they are in your room. This is truly unfortunate because the hotel would be a great deal price wise, especially for New York. And Brooklyn, […] which seems to be lacking in choices of hotels in general. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Adequate but not spectacular"
This is the second time I've stayed here. I like the location ok, but the surrounding area isn't great. They seem to be having some electronic issues. When we arrived, the electronic key system wasn't working the computer in the bar was down and the TV went out during a storm because, for some reason, they use a sat dish and not cable. All were fixed […] in a relatively short time, but it was a bit of an inconvenience. The staff was fine, although the circular check in desk is annoying for obvious reasons. This hotel is fine, but we prefer The Nu Hotel in this area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Trendy"
I liked my stay. It was a good price for New York and convenient to the metro stations. The metrowe needed on the same block was closed though so we just walked to the next one which wasn't far either. The bathroom and shower was very nice and trendy, I really liked the shower head because it was like a rain fall. The beds are platforms and I kept bumping […] into it over and over so I have a big welt on my leg...so be careful when walking around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Big disappointment"
This hotel is just a big disappointment; first we called before we made the trip to this hotel to confirm they had parking because a major snowstorm was heading towards New York. We were informed that they had a covered garage- we arrive at the hotel and we find out that: 1-they don’t have a garage, 2- their valet parking is not operational (it’s snowing […] badly now), and 3- they have a lot they use around the block - were hearing apologies already and we haven’t even checked in yet. Next, we paid extra for a room with a city view and balcony and we didn’t get that either, in fact they don’t have that and their response to us was they are not responsible for third party (Expedia) mistakes about listings and prices- really and of course more apologies although no price adjustment . We stayed for four nights, the rooms are nice however the walls are paper thin, we had to call the front desk the second night we were there because of the ridiculous partying next door after two calls those guests were escorted from the hotel by the police at 4 A.M; the next morning we heard the maid scream when she entered the room, that also woke us up. In addition, the climate control in our room did not work, the remote and cable were lousy and the carpets were not vacuumed once during our entire stay. We checked out with more apologies. This hotel needs to review its pricing as well as its operations; defiantly not worth the price – just a big disappointment with a lot of apologies thrown in. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Rock Hotel"
Its a non smoking hotel, but when our neighbors were smoking and it was filling our room the management wouldn't do anything about it. After several people complained about the noise and the smoking, we were offered another room. It was a downgrade, and we were forced to move to the new room after midnight. I guess if you are looking to party and not […] sleep the stay would have been fine, but that wasn't the case for me. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Alternative for a Visit to New York"
This is not a five-star hotel in the sense of, say, the New York Palace or other upscale midtown hotels. But for a reasonably-priced alternative, this place is excellent. The lobby is a little silly, but the whole place is very clean and very modern. My king-sized "city view" room was great. The "city" in the views was mostly Brooklyn; only a tiny sliver […] of Manhattan was visible (and you have to be very familiar with the Ferry Terminal area to even recognize that sliver as Manhattan), but a section of the harbor was visible and this time of year (late January or early February) sunsets were visible over the water when there were no clouds. The room was surprisingly spacious and defniitely well organized. The free internet was appreciated and reasonably fast. The fitness center was open 24 hours and not too small. There is even an indoor pool. Downtown Brooklyn is still a little rough around the edges but so much has been added in the last ten years and the area is becoming increasingly dynamic and interesting. Lots of train lines come through the area so getting to any part of Manhattan is pretty simple. Also, there is even a half-price TKTS booth just two blocks from the hotel, so you can get tickets to a Broadway show without dealing with the lines in Times Square. I really liked this place. "Cheaper than Manhattan"
My stay at Aloft was fantastic. The surrounding area doesn't offer much by way of food, but there are several cool Brooklyn neighborhoods just a short walk or quick train stop away (Dumbo, Ft. Greene, Cobble Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill). I was able to get a great rate which I hear isn't always the case. If you time it right, this is much better […] than paying for an expensive room in the city. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A hip little spot"
I really liked the hotel room and it was a very nice place overall. It does have a very hip feel to the place and it kind of made me laugh. The location is not great. There wasn't much in walking distance. It is rather centrally located though, and we brought our bikes to get around, which was really great. The only major complaint I had was the thinness […] of the walls. I could hear the TV and conversations in the room next door. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
