The landmark Brooklyn Bridge links Manhattan with the city’s most populous borough. Waterfront Brooklyn Heights offers superb views of Lower Manhattan. Renowned for its brownstones and leafy neighborhoods, Brooklyn embodies America’s “melting pot.” Italian, Mexican, Chinese, and Jewish communities add to the cultural mix. Highlights include Coney Island, Prospect Park, and Brooklyn Museum of Art.

"Noisy club on top floor! No sleep!"
While the amenities of the hotel were nice - comfortable beds, great shower, free coffee in the morning - if you go to bed before 2AM and want to get a good night's sleep, do everything possible to avoid being on an upper floor. There is a club on the 24th floor of the building. We were on the 21st floor, and could hear it like it was just above us. […] When we called the front desk for assistance at 11:30PM, they were unable to offer another room or any other compensation. I wouldn't say to avoid entirely, just do everything possible to make sure you are on a low floor and do so when you book the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It was being remodelled. The Party Disco Club downstairs is very loud and it is difficult to sleep. Secondly, the swimming pool was never available for 2 days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"WARNING--loud, party hotel"
This seems to be a party hotel... If you're not there to stay up into the wee hours partying, then don't go, because the people in the next room are sure to be doing it. And since the doors that would enable you to adjoin two contiguous rooms are right next to the bed, you will not be able to escape their partying and you certainly will not be able […] to sleep. And don't take it up with the front desk because the guy staffing it late at night just doesn't care. I would never stay there again. If they did something about the noise, it would be very pleasant and it's well-situated. But not being able to sleep at 3:00 a.m. because of the people in the next room is a total dealbreaker. We stayed there several nights and two consecutive groups of people in the next room did the same thing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"They Could Care Less....."
Aside from the initial check-in process, where the front desk young lady was more than helpful and friendly... the remaining staff throughout the remainder of my stay were rude, ignorant, and aloof... displayed a "I could care less about you" attitude towards me. Even when I was standing there to order a breakfast sandwich early in the morning (Monday, […] 03/19)... where there were no other guests at the front desk waiting... the 3 staff members whom were present, just stood there talking up a storm... and, even after making eye contact with me... they continued to chat away until they finished their conversations and, THEN, turned to me to say: what do you want? I mean... WOW.... "what do you want?"?????? As if I am bothering you for being the staff member of the Front Registration Desk of Guest Services... I mean... really... AFTER ALL... this IS the Hospitality Industry the last time I had checked into the hotel industry. Aside from the rude and ignorant staff... the hotel itself is hip, modern, and very comfortable with its amenities. Nevertheless, no matter how nice the establishment is... it is only as good (or, bad) as the actual guest services it dishes out. And, in this case... simply inexcusable. "The strange, irritating noises in the Aloft Hotel"
The bed is really comfortable, the bathroom and the shower are well designed, and the staff is helpful. But they could do NOTHING about the constant cycling on and off humming noises in the building. After being awakened on the 1st night we asked to change rooms for the 2nd night of our stay. The second room seemed better till about 3AM and the humming […] started again. The heat/air conditioners cycle on and off as well, so you are either freezing or throwing the heavy comfortor on the floor. The design of the building has a giant flaw that seems to be part of the engineering of the heating or plumbing. Whatever it is it goes on all night. We will never stay there again. "Aloft Hotel Brooklyn New York"
Every room in the hotel has a disconnected Vanity light fixture over the bathroom sink. Our bathroom was dark and impossible to use the mirror without lighting. There were no other mirrors in the room. Management explained that the light fixtures were determined to be a fire hazzard and so were disconnected. Still, i felt that management should have […] reduced the room rate or offered another lighting alternative. The dark room ruined our stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"ALOFT Brooklyn NY"
No fridge. Had to buy a cooler to keep things cold we needed . No Ice machines on any floors. Went to loby every time we needed some. Light over bath vanity didn,t work. Said it was due to some kind of fire code. Dah!! Wouldn't you think if there was a code problem you would have to have it fixed.? When we checked in and got to our room. We lfted the […] window shade and all we saw was run down buildings. Don't stay there un less there is no other place you can get. It was forgetable. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not comfortable, awful stay"
I'm a physical therapist and a colleague & I stayed here for 3 nights for a course @ LIU. The king size bed was slightly larger than a queen. Being a therapist, I am all about comfort and good sleep. The bed was SO uncomfortable! 2 of 3 nights, there was a lot of noise from the adjoining room. The walls must be incredibly thin cuz I could hear people […] laughing till 1am to which I got irrate, called the front desk and told them where the noise was coming from and to please take care of the situation. They called me back 15 min. later (after I'm trying to fall back asleep) to ask me which room it was coming from. I was so annoyed since I had already told them! The in-room air conditioning was loud and would not keep the desired set temperature. It was either muggy or cold and had to be adjusted all the time. (I even checked with the front desk to see if I was doing something incorrectly, which I wasn't.) I stayed a few months ago next door at the Sheraton and had a lovely stay. We thought we would try this hotel since it was brand new...I mean come on, being newly renovated, how bad could it be? Well trust me...it was! I would definitely not stay here again.
