Horrible "breakfast" . Tossed it in the trash. Parking is $25.00 with no in and out, otherwise your parked on the street subject to meters and local restrictions. The staff at the desk was at best indifferent ( talking to each other while I stand and listen)

I have no idea how this hotel is located in one of the nicest neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Instead of a national chain with a set of standards this felt more like a run down mom + pop. It was like going into a time warp back to 1986 opulence. Except that it's over 20 year later and noone took a dust rag to the gold plated railings or some windex to the […] 100 mirrors and "crystal" chandelier. The staff was extremely casual and not eager at all except for one shining star, Luci who by herself actually balanced out the experience. She was super friendly, courteous, and very knowledgable about the area. She made me forget all about how the room next to mine look like a murder scene, which I later found out was only under "construction" although the TV was playing strangely all day and night. I know all the rooms were booked so it must be a popular stay for the price but I definitely expected better out of this area and will not be staying there again. The hotel is need of some updates. The room temperature was controlled by a cooling / heating unit under the window. The heat was barely warm and didn't have adjustments for the fan. The hotel elevator is weather beaten and could use a face lift. Breakfast was nice.

Stayed here last year, and it was a good experience. This time, my room was not ready. When I was given a key to a room, it was occupied by someone else. The next key they gave me opened a room under construction. Finally, the third one was available, but the carpet was disgusting.

Our room was newly renovated. I was travelsing with my daughter & 2 grandchildren. Our room was big enough so we weren't tripping over each other. The bathroom was good size and comfortable. Continental breakfast was served and the entire staff was committed to our comfort. They gave restraraunt recommendations and got us a car service. Decent, mildly updated older hotel. The beds were exceptionally comfortable; linens and pillows were nice and in good condition. Breakfast was average to above average, good selection and big, fresh NY bagels. Our room was quiet, but it was at the end of the hall, and on the top floor so that might have helped. The staff were very helpful. We were there on a weekend; as former NYer's, we knew this was a safe neighborhood, and parked on the Street Friday nite. Sat. nite returning from the wedding there was NO parking spots so it was great to do the valet. The hotel is an older property; the location is safe and great!

The hotel is a bit shabby. The carpet in our room needed to be cleaned as did one of the chairs. The help was very accommodating and pleasant although they never seemed to get to cleaning our room until later afternoon. Mary in the bar gave us great restaurant recommendations.

My sisters and I were doing the NYC Color Run in Brooklyn this past Sunday. I needed a place fairly close that had good ratings and not too far from the venue. The hotel is close proximity to the bqe and the belt which was great. Bayside Brooklyn reminds me of Steinway Ave in Queens where you were in close promixity to all the stores: tjmaxx-bought […] running shorts, models etc. also near restaurant chains. Neighborhood itself was quiet an near R train. The room was NYC average, small but enough to fit three to four people. The bathroom was big enough actually. Great amenities. We did the valet parking which was 25+ tax for each time we required parking because we weren't sure about the parking situation. We probably didn't need this, but since it was just overnight we didn't want to worry. Staff was jovial and helpful, especially Juli in the front desk who greeted us. Breakfast was downstairs from the lobby-nothing too extravagant but free! Only thing I didn't like was that the boiled egg was cold- literally had to spit it out. All in all a great stay Read more

It as nice. There are alot of restaurants and bars. Things are opened practically all night. Alot in walking distance. Park your car and take the bus or subway if your going out of the neighborhood. Very convenient to the subway and in a nice neighborhood. Close to pleasant, small eateries, bakeries, etc. You can stay here much cheaper than in Manhattan, but take the subway into the city daily to take in the sites.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was old but was clean. The only problem I had was a very bad smell in my room. I stayed in my room for four nights. The first night the room smelled a little musty which was ok with me as it did not bother me. The second night I noticed a smell that I've never smelled before. It reminded me of sewer […] gases but I can't verify what is was. Let me tell you that my wife is always telling me that things smell but I never smell them. We would go places and she would tell me it smelled bad and I never agreed. This is the first time in my life where a smell was so bad that I had to ask for a room change. Of course they had a wedding at that time so no smell free room for me. If I were you I would spend a little extra money and get a room that doesn't smell so bad it gives you a headache. Read more

Parking was a serious problem. Coming in late to an unfamiliar neighborhood in Brooklyn with two kids was worrisome. It is rather far into Brooklyn, if you are orienting to Manhattan. We had to drive around the neighborhood to find a regular on the street spot, and that wasn't easy. The room was nice and comfortable. Great Continental Breakfast. Nice staff which were friendly and helpful, Only knock was the high floor height of bathroom from main room. Everyone tripped at least once. Hotel a bit pricey but its the only one around in a very well to do neighborhood.

We asked if there was parking, we were told yes. Never were we advised there was a $25:00 per night charge. As we entered our room a microwave & fridge were being rolled out. We have never stayed in a place wer those amenities were an extra charge. Finally our car was returned tous with a scratch on the trunk key area that had not been there before. […] We requested an early check inand we were told we had to wait. The Best Western was conveniently located for us, close to shopping and family. We are New Yorkers so we know our way around and didn't mind on-street parking. The staff was terrific, especially Kim at the front desk and Mary in the hotel lounge. The first room that I was given was dreadful: on the first floor, odor and the smoke detector had been pulled from the ceiling leaving just the cords exposed. I requested another room and waited 2+ hours for it to be cleaned. The hotel is dated.

the hotel needs an overhaul of the old rooms...I have a feeling some of the rooms other than the ones reserved for Expedia are quite nice for others staying in the hotel said the rooms were nice. My room 306 was old with a small bathroom...my room although clean needed a complete overhaul...the rug was old and dirty....etc.

Spent here just two nights. It is ok just to have a sleep and go further to watch the NY. The hotel is located near to the Subway station 86st, so in a 40 minutes you are in the heart of the manhattan with no any switch. Cleanliness is not perfect but is ok for the hotel of such level.

There were 2 problems: When we arrived at the room the A.C. had been on full blast, the room was extremely cold and all of the bedding was quite wet from condensation. The hotel did not have any extra linen to change the bedding. Wet bedding is extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. Second, the smoke alarm was beeping quite loudly (dying battery).
