This place met my expectations. It is conveniently located near the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, and the room I stayed in was clean, odor-free, and well maintained. My only complaint was the noise-level. Early in the morning, it was a bit noisy due to construction/landscaping near the front entrance of the hotel, and at night, we could hear people's footsteps […] and doors slamming near our room. We have stayed here each visit to Sanat Cruz for the past 12 years. This may be our last visit. Lots of work being done to upgrade the check in and breakfast area. I guess we have never stayed down stairs. Each time the water was turned on it made a screaching noise that woke me out of a sound sleep and didnt stop until they shut off the water. The […] beds were very worn and uncomfortable. They still served a breakfast while trying to remodel. The pool area is great since we travel with children. The homeless have really taken over in this area. Although the hotel is close to shopping and resturants, There were people doing drugs on the street two blocks from our room. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations and we did stay in one of the recently redone rooms. Not really impressed. Breakfast offered was your typical sugar laden wheat choices. Our biggest complaint would have to be the glass block window in the room with no drapes and bright parking lot light that filled the room all night. Booked this hotel early for a good price. Location was convenient off Hwy 17 and a short drive to Beach Boardwalk. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Breakfast was fine but would have been nice if it included real sausage or eggs instead of the dry mock meat with potatoes.

Geat location, very personable staff, lovely room, heated pool and hot tub. The bathtub drain did not work and the breakfast was a bit short on protein, otherwise a very good value and good service.

The worst and bad thing about this hotel is the free breakfast. Stay away from the gravy and sausage, it is NOT good. The only part of the service that was a small pain was the fact that your room keys have to be re-activated every morning. Everything else they served was exactly what it was supposed to be. The Comfort Inn in Santa Cruz is adequate. It's one of the cheaper hotels in the area, but it was clean and close to the building I had to go to the next morning. For one night, it was fine. No frills, but the breakfast in the morning was decent. All in all, I would rate it as "satisfactory."

clean and comfortable. A bit far away from downtown but Denny's and one local cafe nearby which is good enough for me. You could find fastfood close enough as well. Good deal considering performance over cost.

Clean, moderately priced, close to freeway, WONDERFUL con-breakfast, gracious hosts... Why would I pay double to be a little closer to the beach? This place is everything a pair of travelers need. Not the Ritz, but, if that's what you want you're probably not looking at this post anyway. Amenities are standard, but, again, clean and we left happy!

Great place and for the price even better! The lady when I checked in seemed not the nicest but we all have our bad days. The breakfast was pretty good, waffle maker, oatmeal, etc but plenty of choices. The room was nice too. I would definitely stay again.

This was a solid choice for the reduced cost. Very surprise by the continental breakfast, one of the best we've come across. Neighborhood isn't the highest quality but nothing to worry about. Very convenient location with Highway.

Check-in was a little slow, but that seems to be standard at every hotel. The room was very clean, nicely decorated. The breakfast was really good. My only problem was squeezing 2 people onto a full bed, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. I'd definitely stay here again.

Rates are reasonable but had a mix up on the bill between Hotels.com and Comfort Inn. Almost was charged twice. Hotel not easy to find. Lucky we had a GPS. The Complimentary breakfast was very nice.

We arrived at 3 pm our room was ready. Room was very clean. Had a Frig, Microwave & coffee pot. No coffee so I called the front desk and they immediately (within 3 minutes) were there with the coffee. Excellent service. The BREAKFAST was great. Not continental. I had to get my breakfast from the dining hall and bring it to my room because my child was alone and still sleeping. The front desk guy rudely stopped me and told me that I can't eat inside my room. It's the first time I heard of such nonsense. He argued with me and it was only when I told him he would be liable if something happens to my kid that […] he allowed me to go. He embarrassed and insulted me in front of the other guests at the lobby. I can't believe that such an incident will happen to a place where "we accommodate the guests' requests" is written boldly in the fliers. I was treated rudely and the front desk guy even raised his voice at me. I don't care if he's the manager or the boss, this doesn't make him more of a person than me. This motel stay was one of my worst ever! The bathroom was partially unpainted, remote control didn't work, comforter was filthy, but most importantly the service was awful!!! Rude employees and inconsistency between reservations and actual charges. We did not have a roll a way bed as arranged and when we ask at office we were told we could have one […] if we could carry it to our room ourselves!
