"Not likely to lodge at Aloft again"
I couldn't get a room at my normal Austin Domain hotel (the Westin) so I booked a room at Aloft. There is a huge difference between the two, in my opinion. Nice amenities, very hip "modern" feel to the place in a shopping area with trendy shops (Tiffany's, H&M, Neiman Marcus, etc.) and some restaurants. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. Room was laid out very well with an interesting shower/restroom combination that was behind the bed area. "Great hotel"
Overall the hotel and staff was great. My only complaint was the bar down below. Avoid staying on the side of the bar/restaurant. "Nice hotel. Rooms r a little small for families."
We enjoyed our stay. We have a 3 yr old and a 5 yr old. We were there for a family get together. It was conveniently located in the Domain across from Neiman Marcus and other shops and restaurants. We got a room with a king bed. We requested 1 roll-away bed for our 5 yr. It was not your typical roll-out. It was a toddler size inflatable bed with kids […] sheet set. It came in a duffle which also included some kids games. The room was small as compared to Hyatt Place which was close by. Although we were on the 5th floor, you do not get much privacy as our room faced the multi-level parking across the street and you can literally see right into the cars parked there. Our room was very nice. The staff here went out of their way to ensure my wife and I were taken care of and had a clean, comfortable place to call home while we were house hunting in Austin.
