If you are interested in doing some meals yourself, you have a kitchen at your disposal. The bed was not that comfortable and the sounds of others' pipes could be disturbing to rest. It was marred by a power cut in the district which had not been fixed at time of departure, so it is difficult to make fair comment on the stay. "Spacious hotel rooms at a great location"
The Hotel Allandale was a pleasant surprise. There was much about this hotel that was far better than I anticipated. Our room was more spacious than I expected and comfortably accommodated the 5 people it boasted with two full size beds and a large pullout couch. The decor was dated but I didn't mind. One of the most surprising things about the room […] was the LARGE fully functional kitchen. The room came with a full size refrigerator/freezer, microwave, stove/range, coffee maker, toaster, and even a dishwasher! What's more the room also included all the cups, plates, utensils, and pots and pans required to cook for 4 guests. The location was also great as it was located next to a large shopping center with a Walmart, Walgreens, and tons of shops and dining options. I highly recommend trying some of the restaurants in the immediate vicinity. In addition, the hotel is within a few miles of two upscale shopping districts, The Domain and The Arboretum. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and amenities. The staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast was above average with waffles, sausage and biscuit sandwiches, yogurt, bagels and toast, juice, coffee, and cereal. The laundry room was much nicer than most. This hotel is highly recommended. NOTE: The hotel has a strict noise policy. On the second noise complaint, they will eject you from your room w/o a refund. Great if you want a relaxed stay. Nice, quiet hotel that used to be condos. Lots of space in room (for a small suite). no problems parking, which is always a plus in Austin. From the minute we walked into our door, it reminded us of the beach. Unfortunately not in a good way. The room smelt moldy/musty like a beach condo. It was apparent they did not open the balcony door and clean it; there were spit cups and empty drink bottles. The 3 tube TVs were definately outdated; the one in the living room had no connections for […] DVD, one had a VHS connected to it. I love this location. It's far enough from the downtown area, but centrally located. I visit Austin regularly, and usually stay here (since 2004). It's usually quiet. Hotel is an apartment complex redone as a hotel and condominiums. Bed is comfortable, and rest of the furniture is adequate, if dated. There is a full kitchen complete with dishes and basic cookware. "Perfect for our girlfriend party!"
we were looking for a place that we could all (6-8 of us) stay together- (ended up with only 6, but all 8 of us could have fit in) for a double birthday celebration and this was perfect for us! we were able to have 2 connected suites (a 2 bedroom & a 1 bedroom connected) and it was great! it felt like a slumber party. very close to downtown, where we […] had reservations on sat. nite, and a pretty quick & easy drive to get there (15 mins or so). the pool area was beautiful, but we forgot to bring suits. the full, hot breakfast was very nice on sunday morning, as well! we'll totally stay here for our next girls- trip to austin! "Convenient and a GREAT value"
We were in town for the Austin City Limits music festival, which floods the city of Austin. We decided to stay at the Hotel Allandale because it was affordable and located close to the MO-PAC which would get us downtown without much trouble. The neighborhood was nice, with a bank and grocery store nearby. The room itself was spacious for the amount […] we paid (because the hotel is an old apt. complex that has been renovated) and included a kitchen, large living room, bedroom and a decent sized bathroom. It was by no means fancy or fabulous, but the breakfast in the morning was fantastic! The room was clean and well worth the money - and staying outside of downtown (15 minutes) made sure there was little traffic and low rates. The only downside to the weekend was the parking situation. The parking lot, although enormous, was parked up by trailers and other people there for the ACL festival... making the last people back park in a separate parking lot. The staff was friendly and apologized for the inconvenience and gave us directions to the additional parking lot (which was behind our building). Overall - this was a fantastic choice for a young couple, who knew they would be spending little time actually at the hotel, and who needed to make a wise decision about where they spent their money. Although this hotel was reasonably priced it wasnt the best quality. The rooms were converted from old outdated apartments and very low quality. the beds were also very flimsy and not very appealing. "Wonderful stay"
This was exactly what I was looking for. It suited me since I had rented a car, it is kind of far away from most Austin Attractions, however the neighborhood is wonderful.
