Service was great but disappointed with the hotel it's self. Room was not what I expected for what I paid for it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Needs maintenance"
The air conditioner was barely working and the television was completely non-functional. The room needed to be a cleaner for the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The bathroom did not match the room or the price. I was reminded of the bathrooms at two or three star hotel. Also the wait for the elevators was ridiculous. We had to wait a half an hour for one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Location, location, Location"
You're paying for the location here. The lobby and service offered are nice but you’re really paying for the location of this hotel. Being able to walk to pretty much anything you would want to do in downtown Austin is great. The room was nice, but the bed wasn't. It surprised me that a hotel as nice as this has beds that feel more or less like sleeping […] on a spring board. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Missed wake-up call"
The hotel is very close to the Convention Center, the beds are quite comfortable, the temperature controls work well, and it's got great water pressure. On the other hand the convenience plugs in the lamp base didn't work at all and I was constantly crawling under the desk to switch between my computer plug and the coffee-maker. Also, the elevators […] are extraordinarily slow. In a high-quality hotel you shouldn't have to wait 4 - 5 minutes for an elevator. But worse, they failed to make an early wake-up call on check-out day and because of that I missed my flight. This is a very important function, and they should make absolutely sure it gets done correctly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
one complaint: When paying $200 per night, add free wi-fi, I can get that at $80 per night. If my company had not paid, would have stayed elsewhere also, No washer or dryers to clean clothes?Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Sneaky Parking Charges -Lack of standard amenities"
I would of loved this hotel if it wasn't for the most basic things that they don't have or do! #1 They have no room coolers, fridges of any kind. No room microwaves. When I called to see if they either one of those anywhere, they told me NO WE DON"T but we do have fridges you can... BUY? #2 They do a good job selling the parking garage to you (since […] you don't have a alternative solution), comes to find out its thirty plus dollars a day to park in garage #3 I made 2 of the most basic request that I was shocked a hotel of this standard could accommodate. Asked for some limes or somewhere to find a knife... If they brought me limes it was eleven dollars and if I wanted a knife, I could ask the restaurant and see if they let me use one. Outside of that, nice hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"no mention of pool being closed"
The stay was fine. We booked at this hotel because we specifically wanted an outdoor pool. However, after wondering around the hotel looking for the pool, someone finally informed us the pool was under construction. There should have been a mention about this at the time of booking and when we checked in. This would have allowed us to find a different […] place to stay while in Austin. "Could Be Better"
The hotel's valet was full for the duration of my visit, which was a huge inconvenience. In addition, the attendants seemed incapable of getting taxi cabs to come to the hotel on a Saturday night. Further, the housekeeper arrived at my room at 8:00 am on Monday morning, and returned every thirty minutes until I had left for the day.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad when the Hotel is busy"
I could see how this hotel may be better, and I was just there at a bad time, but there were too many issues I had to deal with during my 4 days. Lack of hot water. Actually had to down grade my room to get hot water. It took more that 20 minutes to get to my floor on any given day. No parking. All in all, probably best to avoid the Hilton when it may […] be busy. It just does not seem the Hotel is prepared for large capacity. I was there while they were hosting a large convention. "Terrible for honeymooners!"
The overall quality of the hotel was superb; great skyline view and wonderful rooms! However, we stayed here for our honeymoon on 12/10/12 and even though I booked the room months in advance, no one on staff even acknowledged that it was our honeymoon! We did not get any perks or even a congratulations. We received inadequate service and when we asked […] to borrow a fork to eat our wedding cake, they charged my card $7.00 and left a $50.00 pending charge there also! I loved the beauty of the hotel, but the service was terrible; especially for honeymooners! If I had known this before our honeymoon, I never would have booked it. "Security issues"
The check in was easy and the room was clean and comfortable. However, the tv was in an armoire that faced the bed so if you wanted to watch tv you had to be in the bed or sitting on the end of the bed. The tv would not slide out of the armoire making it impossible to sit on the couch and watch tv. At 9am I was awakened by housekeeping coming in my […] room thank goodness I had the door latched. I am not sure if they knocked as I was sleeping. I got up and opened the door and she apologized. Needless to say I could not go back to sleep. Around 1030 I was sitting on the end of the bed drinking coffee and watching the tv when someone put a key card in and attempted to open my door which thankfully again was latched. This time I can assure you there was no knock or announcement of housekeeping. By the time I got up and opened the door (probably not a smart move) the person was gone. SCARY!!! At this point I decided to get outta there. I packed my bags and went to the front desk and asked for the manager. He was very friendly and extremely apologetic for what had happened to me and said he would definitely address it. He refunded my $20 for parking. Not sure I agree with that but it is what it is. "Downtown"
Was OK but if we had known the hotel was a convention center we would have gone elsewhere! Hilton should have notified us that there was a major event happening during our stay that we were not part of, given us an alternative Hilton chain hotel to stay at. I had specifically told the hotel that my wife suffered from claustrophobia and could not use […] the elevator and would need to use the stairwell to reach our floor (10th) after asking several members of staff where they were nobody could tell us! Finally a cleaner showed us the way. NOT VERY SATISFACTORY! We will be terminating our HHonors membership after this trip. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unexpected pet fee"
$50 non refundable pet fee was not listed in the hotel details..Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was nice. We didn't do much there other than go straight to our room and sleep. The room was cozy, but not anything super special. When we stayed it was really crowded with a convention which made taking the elevators to our floor take an extra 20 min. Parking was in a garage underground for $20/day, and was full becuase of the convention. […] Parking a truck was not easy either in the tight garage. This hotel might have worked better for us if we were in Austin for leisure, not business, and didn't have a car to park. It was a big hassle getting in and out, especially when we were on a time crunch. It's in a great location, close to bars and restaurants downtown, and walking distance to the river and parks. "I expected more"
I typically have good things to say about the Hilton in down town Austin. This time I was there there were 200 yelling kids in the hotel and it felt that that half of them were in the room next to mine. I call hotel security at 9 am and we never heard the guy come to the door. The kids started yelling and running down the hallway at 7:30 AM. The only […] other complaint I have is that I call for a minibar key and no one every brought me one. I had to go down stairs and get it my self. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not worth your money"
I was really disappointed that I spend a ton of money on this hotel room and it really had no amenities. Refrigerators are an extra cost, wifi is extra, parking was extra. The maids didnt even do a great job of cleaning the room after the first night. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. I will not return to this hotel unless it's free. "Nice, but not for the money we paid"
Our room was good, but I was worried the entire time about when the metro horn was going to go off again. I also tried to roll a luggage cart up to my room and was told no. overall my stay was very enjoyable but I can't believe we were charged for parking each time we left and returned and we weren't told about it. I can understand doing a one time charge, otherwise I would have rated my stay "very satisfied"Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A mixed experience."
I don't feel this Hilton was up to par; rooms felt a bit dated and frankly had a bad experience checking in. There was no room in guest parking, so decided to use valet. Valet was full; and hotel suggested parking on the street (and wake up early to constantly check on the meters). Definitely will think twice if we have to stay here again. "Bring earplugs!"
We made the mistake of staying during the first home game of the season for the local college team and it seemed everyone else in the hotel was intent on partying. Add to that the fact the hotel sits right next to the metro train depot (train whistle all night) and across the street from what must be Austin's busiest fire station (sirens all night) […] and you get a recipe for little sleep. The hotel was very nice and next to the convention center, but next time I'll find a hotel in a quieter location and walk! P.S. We also had to pay to park in the hotel's underground parking even though we were guests?!?!. For the price of the room you would expect parking to be complimentary! "Average Hotel Stay"
The room I booked was not available and I had to switch to a 2 Queen room instead of a King. Was only offered free coffee for this switch. Hotel pillows had stains on them. "No parking, marginal a/c"
A bit disappointed. Have stayed here previously with no problems but this time the hotel apparently allowed non-guests to use the parking garage for UT football parking and there was NO space for hotels guests. Had to circle several times before finally finding street parking. Later moved the car to another downtown hotel where we were attending a wedding […] that luckily had space and graciously allowed us to park overnight (for a fee of course!) Also, the a/c in the room was adequate, but never really got cold. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel but thin walls."
The walls are very thin for a "four star" hotel. Very nice appointments and facilities otherwise. Also quite noisy in the hallways late Saturday night. Security didn't seem to quiten them down even after two phone calls. All other service personnel were wonderful.Genuine Expedia guest review

"A downtown Austin hotel, with the good and bad..."
The hotel itself is great, and in a very convenient location for both the convention center and 6th street. Unfortunately, the twenty-something douchebag knows about this hotel as well. Despite the hotel's "no party policy", if you're in your room any time between 2:15AM and 6:00AM, Thursday -> Sunday, be prepared for loud jackassery in the hallways, […] people banging on your door then running away giggling, and dance parties in the room next door. The hotel staff will be polite and apologetic when you call about the noise, but you'll have to make the call most nights (and paying a little extra for the "Executive" floor doesn't help). On the plus side, if you *are* an inconsiderate, twenty-something douchebag, this is the place for you to keep the party going. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Enough for Self Parking!!"
The parking areas were not enough for self parking. We've paid $20 for self parking, which is not a little price. However, we couldn't find a space for parking, and they asked me to park in an outside parking lot, which doesn't belong to Hilton. So we needed to pay another $8 to park there. Moreover, the employee of the outside parking lot told us […] that they can do nothing, and it happens everyday. Yes, the front desk gave me $20 back, but the feeling was not good for all of us. "Expected More."
The overall stay was OK. Just a few things I was a little disappointed with. I like to sleep cold, and the A/C in my room would only get down to 70 degrees. When we arrived and when we were leaving, there was only two people at check in/out, and a line of 6 in each. Not happy with having to wait over 20 minutes just to check in/out. Called the front […] desk when I got to the room for the key to the mini bar, and they never showed up. Had to call the front desk twice before they brought more towels. There should also be some type of check out strategy. There is some many floors, and when you are trying to check out of the hotel as well as everyone else, you can never get a elevator and there is not way to walk down 22 flight of stairs with bags. "very large, beautiful hotel in Dwn town Austin"
Good location, safe parking garage, busy location, clean rooms and comfortable bedding. Down side --- we didn't get the room we reserved 3 months prior and they put us in a disabled room with a shower that poured all over the bathroom floor.
