"worst night"
Noisy - inconsiderate people in the hallways and streets - would not come back to this location - I was not there for a vacation - did not get any sleep that night - terrible experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"stay away on event weekends"
We booked a room for one night the night before the Austin Marathon. We checked in fairly late and upon arrival were told they had sold out of King rooms so they would upgrade us to their club level. When we got to our room, we discovered that they had actually given us a parlor room (basically a living room with large dining table and couch) and pushed […] in a roll away bed. We paid a full rate for the hotel and slept very uncomfortably in a drafty room with a tiny roll away. Ordinarily this hotel is great, but in this situation our accommodations were sub-par and customer service did NOTHING to assuage our concerns. Probably will not stay here again. "Upgrade Needed"
The hotel Austin, Texas is in dire need of an upgrade. The furniture, carpet and overall decor of the rooms are outdated. Someone else referred to it as a dump.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Every coin has two sides"
Stayed here a year ago, was very nice and smooth. This time I reserved a non smoking room and when I got there all they had was smoking rooms. Horrible experience, probably the worst room I have stayed in years. Besides the pugnant smell, carpets were not clean, no hot water at night to shower, no dryer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not met basic expectation."
Vending machine doesn't work. It's a 4 star and no internet at room (This is basic in most of hotels). Towels old and dirty. No water bottle in-room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Don't stay here"
We were given a smoking room. Upon entering the room, the stale smoke odor nearly knocked us over. I phoned the front desk immediately to ask to have our room switched and was told I hadn't specified "smoking or non-smoking". I don't recall that choice being offered when I booked; otherwise I certainly would have chosen non-smoking. I was told nothing […] could be done, that the hotel was completely booked. So we spent the night in an ashtray. The odor was so overpowering that it permeated my clothing and everything had to be laundered as soon as we got home the next day. The bathroom lacked an exhaust fan. Seriously? Even the shower curtain smelled like cigarettes. The pillows stank too. Sleep was elusive at best. That parking not only isn't included, but exorbitantly priced is an affront. Compounding this offense, the lot was full when we returned from dinner and we had no choice but to use the valet. The night manager was kind enough to waive the valet fee, but that didn't preclude us from feeling obligated to tip when we got our vehicle back the next morning. Additionally, we had to wait for our car. All in all I was very dissatisfied with this hotel. Ridiculous fees for parking, and other amenities that should be (and are at most hotels) included. Pay to use the pool? Really? and the fitness room? Wi fi not complimentary? Are you kidding? We would have been far better off at the Motel 6. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
AC wouldn't blow cold called and was told hotel is totally booked and pretty much we had to deal with it in the end. Waste of money for sure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I reserved and paid for."
reserved a king size smoking room - was put in a conference room with pulldown queen size bed. Could not use the wet bar and refrigerator unless the pulldown bed was put up. You managed to ruin the romantic getaway that my wife and I HAD SO DESPERATELY NEEDED. We work long hours and different shifts. We manage to get 3 days off together on our schedules […] every 6 months. YOU BLEW IT. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dreadful"
Stayed here when my normal place was booked and won't be coming back. What's good: clean, comfortable room. Decor is dated and carpets look questionable, but no major complaints. The room service sushi is a nice change from the standard fare (of course, with the standard outrageous hotel mark up). Friendly cleaning staff. The fitness center is well […] staffed and appealing. The bad: Dreadful service and clueless front desk staff. The staff couldn't be bothered to properly code my key for self-parking when I asked for it at check in resulting in a line, honking, and being late for my meeting the next morning (the "push button for attendant" guy was also on break apparently). I ended up paying with my credit card and having to make another trip to the front desk. They just shrugged and sort of apologized. The baffling: For some reason, there's a rush on the elevators in the morning and evening resulting in a 10-30 minute wait for the elevator coming AND going. At times the line extended out into the lobby. Not pleasant when you just want to get back to your room after a long day. When I asked a woman at the front desk if there was some kind of problem, she just shrugged and said, "Oh, it's always like that." Duly noted. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible Customer Service"
We arrived at 3:00pm to check in, room was not ready. The put us in another room that wasn't what we paid for and asked to be changed. Was not able to get in room till 6:30pm. We had dinner reservations for 7:30 and were not able to make it to dinner at all. Front desk was not helpful and the manager on staff just gave us a $25.00 credit and laughed […] it off with other desk employees. Will not ever stay there again. "Outstanding room service"
We ate several meals in our room, every one of them was outstanding!!!! Also, we had a beautiful view of the river, and even though we were on the 26th floor, we never had to wait more than a moment or two for the elevator, which I found amazing and pleasant.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not Impressed at all!"
Noisy Air condition, Noisy bath room exhaust fan, people running around in the hallway. A couple and a security on the floor of the executive lounge. Mind you this was supposed to be the executive queen room. Looks just like a standard room execept on 2 special floors. Not so special though. Other than that, executive lounge breakfast was very good […] and peaceful. Self parking $40.00 for 2 days. Too expensive. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the money"
I was very disappointed with the Hilton on this visit. Everything including TV and the fitness facility cost extra. Besides that, there was a roach in my bathroom. I wish I would have staryed somewhere else.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Would Not Stay Again"
Hotel checkin was over 2 hours. Request to remove down for allergies was ignored even though mentioned during checkin/wait period and on-line in reservation. Pool was inaccessable during stay. Party Hotel on Saturdays with too many in pool. Pool closed Sunday and Monday for safety health concerns. Check in staff was incompetent and cleaning staff were […] very average and not responsive. Parking full on Sat. so you cannot move car without loosing space or parking farther away at convention center. Paid for executive floor expecting better service and quality and did not receive either. Hotel walls are very thin, and expect to have groups co-habitating in rooms for party room. Expensive for service, quality and amenities. Party hotel for 6th street on weekend with elevators, hotel and parking stuffed full. Went to enjoy husbands birthday, and wish I had booked anywhere else instead of assuming that Hilton would provide high-quality service and accommodations. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Hilton Austin We would like to sincerely apologize for the issues that occurred during your stay with us at the Hilton Austin. Exemplary guest service is one of the most important initiatives, as we strive to achieve excellence with every guest interaction and it seems like we have let you down. We also would like to apologize for the parking situation. Being located in the heart of the downtown Austin area, whenever there are events in downtown and our hotel is at capacity, there is a lack of parking in the city, this is an issue that our team is discussing as well. And to further disrupt your stay, unfortunately, we did have to close the pool for a 24 hour period due to an unforeseen maintenance issue. The management team always puts our guest’s safety first and wanted to repair the issue prior to allowing guests into the pool. Overall, I apologize for the staff for failing to provide you the service that you deserve, the lack of parking, and the pool being closed. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention so that we can be more proactive in the future. We hope that you will give us another chance in the future.

Response by Hilton Austin I am very sorry that you had a one star experience while staying with us at the Hilton Austin. I can assure you that one star is not the typical experience taken from our hotel. You do not provide any comments but I assure any feedback you can provide is welcomed. We do strive to make each guests stay a wonderful experience and if we fall short we love to learn from our mistakes. Again I am sorry that your stay was only a one star but we would love a second chance at proving our four star service.
