Great location, decent hotel. A cabinet door in both the kitchen and bathroom were loose on the hinges when we checked in, but I called the desk and someone came up right away to fix them. The grab and go breakfast wasn't good - prepackaged muffins, limited fruit (only oranges the whole week we were there), coffee, tea, and instant hot cereal. WONDERFUL! The most enjoyable stay ever. The room was exactly as the picture on the internet when I booked it. Very clean, and confortable. The staff at the frontdesk was very nice and assisted with questions that I had. The outside was very clean and manicured a big plus and it was close to downtown and lots of resturants that were in walking distance. […] Also, the hotel was close to a beautiful park that was just awesome. We stayed here to watch the amazing 4th of July fireworks and Symphony show that Austin puts on every year. The hotel was two blocks away from the park where the fireworks were displayed which made for easy walking and no mess of driving out during the big rush! Especially nice was the cost of the hotel compared to other hotels that were similar distances […] from the fireworks display - this hotel was about 60% of the cost of the other hotels, plus free parking and a full kitchen. Those perks were great, but the comfort of the bed was my one big complaint. I did not sleep well. The bed was harder than I've seen at even the cheapest hotels. For a place fitting the extended-stay crowd, having a bed worth staying for would be a draw for me.... If location is key, stay here, but I wouldn't stay more than an overnight trip. The bed comfort isn't worth the cost saved. Read more

Good location. 'found many items (bottle caps, paper wrappings, etc) left from prior guest under beds, couch, etc that had not been cleaned. Couch is a pull out but extremely hard - we found it impossible to put it back together. Staff was almost non existent and not especially friendly. BUT what this hotel has going for it is location - behind Threadgills, […] by the Colorado river & Zilker Park, can walk to Sixth St, and other attractions downtown. Refrigerator and microwave help -- no restaurant on premises but with the plethora of restaurants, it probably would not be used. Rates a bit high for what we got but it was a weekend where a lot was going on. Read more

I have stayed in lower cost hotels before and I am not usually picky. We came in to Austin in the evening and there was a hotel employee smoking outside the front of the hotel. My father had greeted him but apparently the employee did not hear him and proceeded to address my father in a rude manner as though the hotel employee had not been acknowledged. […] The young gentlman in the front desk who checked us in was friendly. We went to our room and I had pulled down the sheet and there were hairs in the bed. We couldnt tell if he sheets had been washed or not. The room did not have trash cans. I woke up in the middle of the night to find roaches running on the counter and floor. Needless to say I will pay the extra money to stay in a cleaner hotel. CHEAPER ISNT ALWAYS BETTER! Read more

Great location! Close to downtown and south Congress where we spend so much time. Very friendly staff. The facility is a little worn, but the price and location make up for it. Good if you need a mini-kitchen.

The location of the hotel--if you're wanting downtown Austin-- is great! After that, not much good to say. I will give credit to Nick at the front desk. He was very courteous, and tried to help with some of the problems listed below. Unfortunately, he was a one-man show that evening... The room had been not been cleaned very well at all. It was obvious […] the maid had been in a hurry ro get done. Bathroom dirty-- wrong sheets on the bed-- didn't even think about trusting the cups... And after we went out for the evening, someone entered our room without permission. Luckily nothing was taken. At the price charged by this hotel, I just expected more. The Staff was very cheerful and very helpful for the few questions and requests that I had. The location was perfect for my needs. The room was as expected size and amenity wise. It was adequate and clean, not fancy. I would stay there again for the price.
