"Heat didn't work"
I chose this's hotel because I'm an HH member and it's location. When I got to my room the first night there was filthy hosiery in my room. The next few nights the heat did not work and they had to give me a portable heater. The last day I got my bill and the were erroneous charges on it and they removed it only after it was paid. The staff was friendly […] and tried to make sure we were taken care of. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"wonderful location -terrific staff!"
Stayed for a wedding. Staff was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction and answering questions. We love Austin!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel has it's act together. The only complaint I had was the noise level from I-35. It got lighter as the night went on. I don't have anything negative to say about this hotel. I will use it each time I visit my daughter at UT Austin.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Trip to ACL"
I enjoyed my stay at the DoubleTree a great deal. The view from my room was beautiful and I loved the location, especially since iy was near downtown and 6th street. The staff overall were nice and courteous especially those at the concierge desk. If I had to chose a hotel again for my next visit to Austin, I would chose the DoubleTree all over again. […] I would also recommend it to my friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel in a great city"
This hotel was very nice, clean & convenient to everything. Would definitely recommend it as well as stay there again ourselves. Priced very fairly considering it was ACL fest & free parking was a big plus.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Low performer for a DoubleTree"
The room was not what you'd expect for a Doubletree. The lights (although energy-efficient) weren't bright enough even when the bulbs warmed up. I felt that any Hampton Inn (also a Hilton property) is nicer than this hotel. The location isn't great. It's next to the freeway on the OTHER side of downtown. You can't really walk to downtown unless you […] want to sweat to death. If it weren't for the then lack of hotels, I wouldn't stay at this location again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to UT-Austin--Great for football games"
The front desk and staff were excellent (very helpful and informative). The hotel bar is a one person operation so you have to go to the bar to get your order but then you can sit anywhere. He was very helpful and also was the waiter for food orders. Our room was with a single King-size bed. Our room didn't have a tub/shower combo. It was just a decent […] sized glass shower (fine with me). We didn't use the in-hotel restaurant. There is a Denny's right next to the hotel. We went one time and they were pretty disorganized. The food there was ok but we thought the IHOP that's a mile away was better. The hotel is an easy walk to UT-Austin facilities (even on very hot days). We used the hotel as our launch point for a UT home football game and it worked extremely well. Austin Police were on hand to help pedestrians which made the walk to the stadium (abt 10 mins) much safer both before and after the game. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to friends. Conveniently located to UT and downtown. AC in rooms does not cool well. AC in elevators doesn't work. Ice machines didn't work.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Door/Key was broke. Light inside door out. Paint chipping in the room. The water handle in restroom would do a 360 and not turn off properly. No working vending or ice machine. AC was out in both elevators and hallways. AC in rooms did not cool all the way down, but better than hallways. My room was not cleaned and had to ask 2 times for towels. The […] front desk manager Brian was rude and more or less cared less. The Bartender had an attitude. The water and coffee was always empty in the lobby. We had 6 rooms and they had a problem with us having 6 cars. We stayed at this property the year before and had the best service and rooms. property must be under new owners or management. Will not go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"No mini fridge or microwave"
The bedding was wonderful. Room was comfortable, but no refrigerator or microwave, Makes It very difficult to be on vacation when we bring back leftovers or want to have a few drinks on hand.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Extremely convenient location!"
We were very impressed, especially considering the price! Best stay we've had in that part of Austin. It was clean and comfortable, although I found the bed to be too soft and the bathroom, while roomy and nice, could use some brighter lights. However, I would recommend this to anyone who would like easy access to some of the best restaurants in Austin; […] i.e., Rainey Street, 6th Street, East 11th Street, etc. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, fairly close to downtown"
My wife and I stayed here when we were in town for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great proximity to UT"
This hotel is located directly across the highway from UT, so it's ultra-convenient if you need to stay close to the stadium. The elevators were a bit slow and didn't have air conditioning, but they said that was just a maintenance issue. A light bulb was out in our bathroom when we arrived and never got changed, but otherwise the room was comfortable […] enough for my husband and I to share with our 11- and 13-yr olds. The pool area is great, and we all enjoyed that. We found it to be a fine hotel for the price; staff were nice, but not over the top and the property was well maintained. It was an average experience, with nothing standing out on either extreme. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for Longhorn game trips!"
AC unit was a little loud turning on and off. Other than that it was a great stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
We arrived after a thunder storm had cut power to the hotel, late on Aug 15th. The staff was very helpful in calling another DoubleTree for that evening, cancelling our room charge for Thursday and then welcoming us back on Friday evening. We were impressed with the service and attitudes under the pressure of losing guests for the evening. We like the […] location and it was a great place to unwind in the evening after long days of moving our daughter into her apartment. Thanks! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"GREAT HOTEL.VERY HELPFUL STAFF, GREAT LOCATION"
ROOMS VERY COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN, FRONT DESK STAFF VERY PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL, GREAT COOKIESGenuine Expedia guest review
The location was convenient and was located just across the freeway from UT. The hallways and elevator didn't have air conditioning so it was uncomfortable walking to and fro. The pool was nice and my child enjoyed every minute there. We had to swipe the key card multiple times to get into the room everytime we came back into the hotel. There is a Denny's […] on the other side of the parking lot so that was a plus. The staff was professional and friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, not so great rooms"
I have NEVER stayed n a hotel room anywhere that did not have a refrigerator and microwave n the room. I had a baby and my diabetic mother with me requiring milk and medicine to b kept cold, the staff was kind enough to have one brought up from another location, but no microwave. We were unable to pop any popcorn at night or even warm up leftover meals […] or lunch for the baby. The breakfast was $14 per person, nothing complimentary, luckily Denny's next door we all ate for a LOT less. The pictures definitely paint a different picture than what I actually saw. "will not be back"
The map and address that was on my confirmation were not correct. The maps shows the hotel to be off 6th street and the address is for the one off I-35 and 15th. I wanted the location off 6th, since that was where i stayed before. When we arrived the "automatic" doors were broken. It was HOT in the hallways. When we went to our room, the door wouldn't […] open. I went back down to let the front desk staff know, and was told that there was a "weight" mechanism and i had to lift and shove the door open. Our A/C unit was leaking and the carpet was wet. One look at the pool is all I needed. It was green and had hair floating in it. There was a homeless man walking around the parking lot looking at cars. I reported him to the front desk. When we checked out, the front desk didn't ask me how my stay was. I guess maybe it's a good thing? I would have given her this earful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Next to graveyard and lackking ammenities-Clean"
I booked online, and was surprised when I arrived that the hotel was next to a graveyard. The swimming pool was great if you like the view of graves as you enjoy the luxurious lighted pool area. Honestly, I was not bothered by the grave yard but others may not be so accepting of this. It was an extremely clean hotel, the pool was awesome, the rooms […] were nice, and the beds were super comfy. The staff was super nice, I only had problems with one rude front desk person, it was a female who worked the day shift... not sure of her name. I had problems with her two times. The night security guard was friendly, the night male front desk attendant was friendly as well. Down pillows and comforters. There is a restaurant and bar downstairs, I didn't get to use this. There was a laundry are and gym that I also did not take advantage of. This hotel was lacking ammenities. there was no mini fridge, no blow dryer, and no iron. For the price I paid I feel like these small things should have been available. There was coffee and a coffee maker in the room and upon check in they give each person in the room a really yummy cookie. Overall I'd say mid level hotel. Nice but basic and next to a graveyard. Oh and the pool is outdooor, but really nice area. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"close to UT"
it was a nice room, we went o take our neice to UT for a basketball camp for 2 days and we stayed 2 nights. the first night our toilet overflowed, then during the night our air quit working. they plunged our toilet , but it took 30 mins to locate the plunger for them. they did let us borrow a refrigerator which was nice at no cost. i called to get the […] air fixed, the maintenance man was there quite quick, but when we got back after about 6 hours, we were informed our air was not fixed and we were being moved to a different room, we moved everything but the fridge and the maintenance man moved it for us. the room we were moved too was very hot and took a while to get cool, it seems if they knew we had to move they would have turned on our air. the staff was all very nice, however i was not esp pleased. i would have thought with that price we would have had a fridge and microwave come with the room.. "Convenient to UT and downtown but needs renovation"
The hotel is getting tired - not what I expected for a Doubletree. Could hear cars on freeway from room on 6th floor, hallways have no air conditioning and uncomfortable in the summer. Expected a nicer hotel for the price. Chocolate chip cookies were great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"close to erwin center and ut"
Very nice stay 4 family mult rooms visiting fr all over 4 graduation.Handled special requests well.Decent restaurant --sampling good soups, baked potatoes, fries, not so hot club sandwich & adequate-nice breakfast, & room service, all open until 11.Free parking.Convenient location on I-35 w/n walking distance to Erwin Center. Halls not air-conditioned […] but really would cost a fortune to do that in Austin & city is crazy re energy efficiency. Just don't be surprised or disappointed by rather warm halls--better to know beforehand.Rooms & lobby are pleasantly cool & you can make room really cool if you need or want that. Delicious cookies & mostly very nice staff. One very late night front desk clerk is a bit brisk but decent; other staff including mgr of front desk, & restaurant maitre-d and staff, are really lovely.Neighborhood to east isn't so great (not terrible tho--Austin crime isn't bad at all) but it's getting better by the minute as part of a big current push urban renewal & revitalization. There's a cemetery next door which might freak some folks out but actually is very old & historic. City view rooms feature downtown views--esp. nice at night. I highly recommend this hotel. I only include v slight negatives so you can better plan your travel & I personally like to know about any negatives beforehand. Denny's next door is pretty good at night tho not quick; I would not eat there during the day however. Convenient for all night dining w/o having 2 drive. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Nice - Plus warm cookies"
Hotel was everything we expected, plus warm cookies as a surprise at check-in. Arrived early and registration desk was kind enough to take our information and call us when our room was ready, which was an hour or so before check-in. Room was very clean and good size. No complaints whatsoever. Only thing that would have been added was complimentary breakfast […] which seems to be the norm with other hotels where we stayed on our trip. "Conveniently located and reasonably priced"
Nicer than expected. Very convenient to UT campus and reasonable. I was on the 2nd floor with parking and dumpsters behind me and a pool at the end of the hall. The hotel was fine. The problem is there are two Doubletree hotels, both on the same street, but 5 miles apart. "Our Austin stay at Doubletree by Hilton"
Our room (402) had a large tear in the valance and we did report it upon arrival. Also the curtain could not be closed to block out light for sleep and the traffic noise as well as the noisy air conditioner and plumbing did not allow for restful nights. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Also the WIFI did not work well while we were there; it […] kept dropping the signal which was irritating and we had to continuously sign on throughout the five days there. The fresh fruit, cookies and water in the lobby was very welcoming. We ate once in the dining area and the food was Ok but service slow and not very good. We ordered off the menu but had to get up a number of times to get coffee, my oatmeal and fruit which were forgotten by the waitstaff. Our room was clean and the restrooms were also clean. Check in and check out were easy and the pool area and parking good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
