"Close to the fabulous Pecan Street Art Festival!"
Our only complaint--the last several stays there we were not assigned a room with a view facing outside, why? Maybe the gear the squeels the loudest receives the most grease! I'll remember this the next stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy walking distance to 6th street."
When I booked the room I thought I was booking a "bed and breakfast suite" and when I got to my room it wasn't a suite but a normal room. Actually a smaller room than most places I have stayed. I expected from the hotel room photos I saw on the internet to have a couple of chairs or sofa and a hot tub. When I called the desk they pulled my reservation […] info and said it couldn't be because a suite was twice the rate I was paying. I could have been mistaken when I booked the room but I don't think so. However, the room was clean, service was good and the breakfast was excellent. Parking at $28 a night seemed a little pricey but I knew that before I got there. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Best Value for the Location"
Room was clean. Location was convenient. I found the rate to be the best value for my one-night stay in Austin. The valet was fast and you can text to have your car prepped by the time you get downstairs which I found helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location and decent price for area."
Austin is always weird, just happened to be an Anime convention in town that weekend, so lots of comic dressed people all around. Every time Austin just gets weirder., and that's just great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love Austin"
Courteous, attentive staff. Easy check-in and check-out. Great breakfast buffet. Only negative was loud talk outside room at 3 a.m and slamming doors between 3 and 4 a.m.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

the stay was ok, the room was not what was advertised nor what the person at Hotels.com told me it was after my having asked a direct question..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
When we arrived the keys would not work in the door. After 3 attempts they gave us a free upgrade and breakfast. The breakfast was sub par. If it had not been comp'd I wouldn't have wasted money on it. The "upgraded" room had cracks in the ceiling, ripped bed sheets, a clogged shower that also ran onto and covered the floor of the bathroom. Not impressed, […] although the staff were good. "A very unhappy customer"
I do not write many reviews. I reserve my opinions only for the best of the best AND the worst of the worst. To state the obvious, this was not the best of the best. Where do I begin? There are two Hilton properties in Downtown Austin. These are both within two blocks of each other. However, they are miles away in their differences. Do not chose […] the Hilton Garden hotel. I have ad better service from a "we leave the light on" chain; better accommodations from a homeless shelter; better food from Micky D's, a better working HVAC system from a tent; and far better hospitality from my bitter mother-in-law! For starters, the hotel ran out of coffee! Yes, I actually said that.. A $$ a night room, $$$ a night after "other" fees.. and no coffee! As an owner of a National Company, I do understand the hurdles with inventory, however, a hotel running out of coffee is the equivalent to Micky D’s running out of buns. As an understanding customer, this was inconvenient, but forgivable. What made this issue unbelievable was the answer to my coffee inquiry; "sir, for your convenience, we will be providing free coffee at the restaurant, which opens at 4PM".. I don’t know about you, but i no longer need coffee at 4pm. To the hotels credit, the following morning, a non-managerial staff member listened to my coffee rant on the elevator and 20 minutes later somehow produced two coffee pouches at my room. I do not know how he found my room, nor do I care. The Hotel should however care, as they need to promote this gentleman to head of guest services, as if he would have taken care of the guests the previous day, this review would not exist. The rest of the stay was uneventful, as the hotel is uneventful. It provides no services what so ever. Probably a good thing, as you can not complain about items that do not exist. The rooms are tiny. My room appeared to be the bedroom portion of a suite (without the needed living area portion). All day and night, the only noise you hear is th Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hilton Garden Inn Austin Downtown"
The hotel itself is great, the only minor issue was the pool. It felt like you were getting into ice water. It was entirely too cold, the hot tub was just that, a hot tub, no jacuzzi. the only other issue, which the hotel is not responsible for, it the number of homeless people in the area. Fortunately, the police were on top of it and kept them moving. […] Over all, this was a great trip to Austin. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Right off down town Austin"
Got in to town a day early and they were able to check me in for a good rate for an extra day. Great view of down town Austin right of 6th street within walking distance of shops, shows and bars. Had a great time and hope to go back soon.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hilton garden Inn downtown Austin"
My boyfriend and I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Perfect for those of you whom want to try out any bars or entertainment in the warehouse district. The walk is literally 5 mins to 6th street and 4th street. We were also able to walk down to the Whole Foods Market, which is about a mile away. This hotel was also about 3 or 4 blocks away from our favorite […] restaurant, The Old Pecan Cafe. Valet parking was a bit of a downer, charging about 26 bucks a night, but we hardly did any driving unless we wanted to check out Congress or Zilker Park, which is about 3 miels away. "The hotel was great"
The only thing that was upsetting to me was there was was no warning about the parking fee's, if you stay there the parking fee's are $25.00 a day, which you don't find out until you leave. There was nothing on the hotel site telling you that, so just be ware. If i had known I would have parked nearby. HHGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We went to Austin for our anniversary on our motorcycle for the Motorcycle Rally???super fun and it was around the corner from the huge event. Only one draw back that we didnt know about.....you have to pay to park at this hotel......really, where are people supposed to park ?? It would just be nice to have known about this fee, we thought the valet […] boy was trying to make an extra $25 dollars. "Good stay, valet parking only"
Our stay was good for the price and location, only thing that we didn't expect was to pay an additional $26/day for valet services. Add that to the hotel price to get the actual daily rate.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great hotel"
My husband and I used this hotel as a weekend getaway from the kiddos. We loved it!! Just a few blocks from everything. The staff was great and offered good recomendations. We used the workout room which was sufficient for our needs. The pool is rather small so if you want a larger pool use the other Hilton. The other Hilton is also 2 blocks closer […] to 5th and 6th street so a little closert to all the restaraunts and bars. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Location"
The bed was extrememly comfortable with tons of pillows. I loved that it had a mini fridge and microwave. The t.v. was free to watch. It was in an incredibly convenient location. It was close to 6th street and other local attractions. The only complaint that I have is the water. It smelled like sewage, so much so that I couldn't drink it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"6th Street Austin - Perfect location!"
This was a weekend getaway for my husband and I the weekend before our wedding. We wanted to be able to be close to all the fun on 6th Street and not have to worry about driving. This location was perfect for that !!!!! The hotel was very nice!!! We got to our room and it was HOT -- left for a couple of hours, when we returned - still HOT ! Called the […] front desk - they were there within 10 minutes to fix the problem! Worked fine after that. Everything about the hotel -- wonderful! We had breakfast at Eighteenth over Austin - wonderful view and really good food. Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Noisy!!"
We entered the room and turned on the A/C. After about two hours we finally realised the AC must be broken, so wecalled the front desk. They sent someone up and repaired it. We went out on sixth street. That was great. But the Room door was loose and it banged all night everytime someone else on the floor opened there door. "The Hilton Garden Inn in Austin- right on 6th st."
The hotel was beautiful and very clean. The only concern was that elevator inspection was to be done on Aug. 13, 2010 and was not through our stay 15th thru 18th of Aug. 2010. The valet and the staff at the front desk were extemely nice and helpful to any question we had concerning the hotel or surrounding areas. convenient to 6th Street. We had to used our car to get to other places. We didn't know much about Austin when we booked. Next time, we will book in another location. Disappointed in hotel for the price. Feel like we could have stayed for much less in hotel equal to this one. Overpriced for services and quality.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Austin-perfect"
After driving in from out of town, my husband and I dropped off our three little ones with family and headed to Austin for the night. Our first stop was the hotel and we weren't disappointed. While you do have to valet ($26/night), it is worth it in my opinion. With the hotel right on 6th and I35, it was nice not having to worry about finding parking. […] The nightly rate we paid plus the valet was comparable to other hotel prices without a valet. We checked in about 15 minutes before the 3pm check in time. They were efficient and friendly. We were out of the car and in our room within 10 minutes. You have to use your room card in the elevator to get to the desired floor; new to me but I like the idea that you can't get somewhere you aren't supposed to be. The room was nice and cool when we arrived. We were on the 10th floor and faced north toward 6th street. Not a view over Town Lake but nice. There was a really nice sitting area in the center of the 10th floor with lots of seating and flat screens. We went to the pool for a bit around 330ish. You can see from the pics...the pool is just as small as it looks. Unless you are a child, you won't be able to do much swimming. The max depth of the pool was 4', I believe. We did see a couple of kids enjoying it. It did have a nice water fall feature but was crowded. The hot tub is adjacent to the pool and was about a 1/3 of the size of the pool. It was nice and hot. We didn't stay long, as we had plans for the evening. When we did leave for the evening, the valet was very quick! We called prior to leaving the room and by the time we reached the lobby, our suburban was ready to go. Nice! We returned around midnight and encountered different staffing but the same courteousness. The hotel was quiet and did offer a snack room, complete with frozen dinners, chips, candy, drinks, sparse tioletries, etc that were payable at the front desk (immediately beside). Of course, it was overpriced but was nice for my midnight sweet tooth! De Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Smoking area - there wasn't one"
The hotel was great but there wasn't anywhere for anyone to throw their cigarettes away. They kind of piled up in the corner. The little canal outside the hotel could use some attention. There was a lot of trash in it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location"
The location is perfect. Very close to 6th Street. Iron Works BBQ is three blocks to the southwest. We had a room on the south side of the hotel on the 11th floor and did not notice the noise from the construction or the interstate. The bar on the top floor has a great view. Although the valet service is expensive, it was well organized, quick and convenient. […] Local calls are not free, they cost $0.50. The hotel pool is small. I would stay here again.
