This was the worst day that I ever had. The war was falling off is hinges almost. The air-conditioning didn't work right. And then maids kept making noises in the hallway and you could hear everything. I hardly got any sleep.

The room was very small and did not resemble the example picture from the website. The hotel was old and not well organized. The bathroom was also tiny for an accessible room. Brass Tax: + Proximity to Austin airport. - Women outside my room fighting from 3am to 5am. This room was booked for a week , for our out ot town employee. He had to change rooms three times, each time the room was dirty the the last room. we got room 310 & 312; and both are smoking rooms but the bad smell in there didn't seem like smoke. We managed to change 312 to 308 but had to continue having room 310 because they don't hv any other rooms to move us to. The 310 gave us such bad bites that every bite on our backs fingers, legs and hands got swollen, itchy and turned red and even had […] pus. almost half of my back was bitten by the bugs in the room , they got really swollen & itchy. The front desk was very rude. She was talking on the hotel phone as her own personal use. She would get frustrated anytime we asked her a question because that meant she had to stop talking to whoever she was talking to over the phone. The walls inside the room were all cracked. The hotel manager was not very nice. I asked for a special exception to get a room early before 3pm on a business trip which I was scheduled for a meeting at the noon time. The hotel manager refused to allow me to get a room and said all rooms are full. That does not make sense because if you made a reservation and the rooms are full. That is impossible. […] The hotel manager canceled the room without my permission to make some negoitation or agreement. Not a very good business. I travel to Austin often. I've stayed in every level of hotel in the city, and frequently stay in lower-end hotels. This hotel was in the worst physical condition of any hotel that I've stayed in. This was for sure just a place to sleep. The smell was so bad but interestingly worse in the halls. The bathroom was missing tiles, and the walls and ceiling in/around tub were falling apart.The coffee maker was dirty. There was a big cobweb in the corner, on the floor, attached to the lamp. The room did not have the microwave and fridge like mentioned. […] Also, most of the plugs did not work. The hair dryer was conected to the wall so I could not move it to another plug, therfore no hair dryer. There were plenty of sketchy people in and around the place. Did not use the pool, it is directly next to the highway and service road. The bed was like sleeping on springs. I was there for 4 nights and never even heard a vaccum cleaner. There was a small piece of trash that stayed in the same place on the floor in the hall the entire time we were there. I deliberately did not move it just to see if it would ever be cleaned. When we arrived, the room was warm. We opened the door way to the hall, which was much cooler than the room. We expected the warmth of the room was due to the a/c not being turned on,so we decided that the room needed time to cool down. We were gone for 6 hours and when we arrived back. the room had not cooled down at all. it was actually warmer. When we notifid the attendant at the desk, he said that there was nothing that he could do at that time of night. We informed the attendant that we were going to check out and was informed that he would NOT check us out, but were allowed to leave the hotel. We had called another hotel, the Marriot, which was definiately a better choice which the service and attendant was very much helpful.in assisting us get settled. I would definitely not recommend this hotel to anyone . Popcorn ceiling falling into room throughout visit. Electrical plate missing from wall outlet and only half of the outlet worked along with messy wiring and electrical cords definitely not up to code. TV snapped and crackled and had poor reception. I was very disappointed. The 1st room, TV didn't work & the floor was wet because the carpets were cleaned that day. Then both mornings, breakfast was suppose to be over at 9am but was mostly out of food by 8am. I asked for napkins the first morning & was told "sorry we're out" Didn't have any day two either. We stayed at this HoJo for only one night, but that night I couldn't sleep... out of fear. I kid you not--- we arrived on a late flight about 1 am. When we got there, there was a loud homeless looking man, with two small homeless looking children, looking through the car windows in the back row of the motel parking lot closest to the neighboring business. […] As we approached the front door, we were let in by a gal who looked like a prostitute (to be fair, not a hotel employee, but another patron), complete with pink and black bustier and nothing else. When we got in the elevator, with our BABY, another man got in, clearly drunk, and started to proclaim he could blow bubbles better then our 4 month old. Needless to say, we practically ran for our room and double locked it. The only saving grace for our sanity was that it was an indoor entry hotel, so it was at least less likely that someone would try to bust down the door. When we walked in, there was a tattered ironing board that the previous patron I guess had ordered sitting in the middle of our entry way. The room was dank, with a slight humid feeling pervading the room despite the air conditioning being on. The comforter was sandy or dusty feeling when we removed it to put it on the ground, and the sheets were not breathable so when you sweated at night (as you are bound to do in Austin's 107 degree summer), the sweat collects on the sheet leaving you feeling unclean. In short, this was NOT a good hotel for an average, upper middle class family with a child. If you aren't concerned with safety as much as price (ie you are young, have no kids, just looking for a place to crash after a drunken night on 6th Street) this could be fine for you. But if you want a safe and clean environment, you need to remember that you get what you pay for. Read more

I know that you get what you pay for, but I think even Motel 6 is a step up from this hole in the wall. Our first room smelled like a wet dog and the AC was broken. Our second room just smelled and was pretty filthy. There were cigarette burns all over the comforter in the nonsmoking room. We felt dirty sleeping in the beds and felt dirtier coming out […] of the shower than when we went in. The carpet was so gross we wore shoes the whole time we were in the room. Not sure where to start. The room was damp and smelled of mildew, cigarettes and dirty feet. The non smoking room had burns in the bed spread. Be careful and do not to trip on the missing tiles on the bathroom floor. You may want to get the hair and ponytail holder out of the tub before showering. Oh I forgot to mention that you can have your choice […] of "ladies of the night "conveniently located at the Shell Gas Station next door. I also received an unrequested wake up call at 5:45 am by some guy beating on my door telling me it was time to go to work. I can't comment on the breakfast because I didn't dare go near it.
