"Old school business hotel in high tech city"
Room and hotel was OK. Shower sucked and no free wi-fi. Really, in Austin, expensive wi-fi charged by the mb? Wont stay again here again considering the room price was high.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Handi cap bathroom"
The only room apparently left when I booked was handicap assessable. If your not in need of this service the bathroom is very inconvient. No place to put toliteries in the shower or counter top.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great stay in central Austin"
Clean, modern hotel in central Austin. Very friendly and helpful staff. Friday and Saturday night can be a little loud as it's close to the entertainment district. This could be good or bad, depending on the purpose of your trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Unreliable WiFi"
Omni properties are always nice and the staff is great. HOWEVER, I was staying here for 5 nights for business, and the WiFi was so weak it was simply inoperable. The hotel made me call their support and go through trouble shooting (knowing they had an issue); and in the end the support said, sorry, we can't help you. The hotel made the excuse that it […] was full and they had a conference, so the volume was to blame. That, in my books, is an unacceptable explanation - sustain an infrastructure to support you business, bottom line. After the fist night of no WiFi acces, I thought surely they'd address the problem - nope, same issue second night. The last three nights were better - they said the had to reset their server... Regardless - I would expect better. Will never stay at this Omni again - too many other reliable hotels in downtown Austin. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great Downtown Location"
I have stayed at this hotel several times and the location downtown and being so close to 6th Street it has really worked out great. We usually stay here when we attend UT football games with clients and the hotel is walking distance to the stadium and a lot of attractions and resteraunts. Even though they are located near the active night spotson 6th […] Street, they maintain a strict quiet time in the rooms after 10:30 p.m. so once you turn in, you won't be bothered by loud parties in adjacent rooms. This is very nice! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Typical over-priced downtown hotel"
Typical downtown hotel. Restaurant, bar and very professional staff. Overpriced and not really any better than staying at a Holiday Inn Express or the like.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Walking distance to Austin Convention Center. Close to the hustle and bustle of 6th. Nice balcony and huge shower room. Only downside was the fan of the A/C was LOUD. Bring a set of earplugs for a good nights sleep.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"OMNI AUSTIN DOWNTOWN"
The room was a true King Suite. Very comfortable and nicely appointed. Exceptional bedding and a superior mattress. A very good value. The building itself was built in the mid-1980's and has the feel of a convention center; similar in style to the Javitz Center in NYC. The hotel is a few blocks to the bustling 6th Street area; great for those wanting […] to wind their way thru the music clubs nearby. The area directly outside the hotel is somewhat rundown and rather bland but not dangerous. A block to the Driskill, a few more blocks to the State Capitol. Much of the staff was pleasant and professional, some of the front desk could learn a little about the surrounding area. Like knowing that the Museum a block away is no more or the bus line to take to the campus. The independent barber in the lobby has prices posted than wants to charge inflated prices. Got my hair cut on South Congress instead! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Location. Nice and Clean. Somewhat Noisy."
This hotel has great location, friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Two main issues we had during our stay: 1. noise was seeping in through the doors and walls. Apparently there is no insulation inside drywall. I could hear the next door room AND bathroom loud and clear. Also, hallway noise was bothersome at 2-3am when everyone is coming back from […] 6th st. Seemed louder than other hotels we've stayed. I recommend requesting a room far from the elevators to minimize hallway traffic near of your door. 2. $26 for parking seems outrageous. . Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Welcome to 1984, the carpets at least."
I was "upgraded to a suite on the private 15th floor. I thought it would be great. It wasn't. The carpets were old and stained from elevator to the room and throughout. It smelled like it had been abandoned. The suites kitchen had very old cabinets and appliances. The bathroom was gross, as was the bedroom. The tv stand was a foot from the wall and […] in the way. "Outstanding Customer Service"
When my room key wasn't working the front desk insisted on sending a bellman up with me to make sure the new key worked. When the concierge saw me standing in front of the gift shop longing for it to open he used his master key and sold me the Tylenol himself. Room service was quick, tasty, and courteous. This might not be the trendiest hotel of […] the moment but they know their customer service and the beds were incredibly comfortable. Thank you Omni! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good on the surface, but not once you settle in..."
Noisey pipes, toilet ran on, lighting was poor. Staff was overly friendly, but unable to help with almost anything I asked. Just a smile, sorry but... Hotel has lots of potential especially considering the location, but it came across as under maintained, over-managed and over-priced, plus every little incidental led to additional charges.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Omni Austin - Great Location and Excellent Service"
I was there for a conference, and was impressed with the service from the front desk, concierge, and valet. The room was clean and the bed comforable. The only (very minor) issue was the window shape/angle prevented me from getting the room nice and dark without propping the chair against it. I'm a light sleeper, so at 5:45 AM both days, I was awakened […] by a couple doors opening/closing, perhaps in preparation for breakfast. Overall, a great stay. "Gave me a terrible room for booking w/hotels.com"
Checked in at the same time as a colleague who booked via their web site - i got a 3rd floor interior handicap access room with a shower so loud and shaky I felt like i was showering in a waterpik/jackhammer. My colleague got a 13th floor executive suite. Great location but weird set up not worthy of Omni prices. Stay at the Driskill if you can.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"way below standards for such hotel"
The neighbourhood is good, just a couple of blocks from busy 6th street. Lobby is nice and room was spacious enough, BUT: 1) radio in room did not work. 2) it is very dark in the shower (no lights and very dark curtains). 3) pillow cases were so old that they felt like sandpaper on my face. 4) pillows were awful. 5) no trash bins in women's lobby bathroom […] for disposal of feminine products. 5) coffee maker available, but no outlet nearby to plug it in! Very pleased with the cleanliness of the rooms. Great service. Ate at the hotel restruant several times and was pretty good for dinner and awesome for breakfast! "Not good for the tech crowd"
Okay - I LOVED the service here. Really friendly and felt like a five star hotel. There were two problems which prevent me from recommending this to my tech SXSW pals: 1) charging for WIFI. in this day and age, ridiculous. period. totally unacceptable. make it easy on people, make them feel like they have a high tech perk, welcome the SF/NYC/LA crowd […] with easy free services. Put the wifi cost in the bill if you want, but don't charge extra and make it a hassle. This alone is why I will not rebook, because it's obnoxious. Seriously! 2) if someone (aka my hotel roommate) loses her key but can identify the thing in her room and provide ID, just give her a new key already. Don't make a customer feel like they have to prove they aren't a criminal just to use their room - it's embarrassing them for losing their key. This process should be refined to be more customer friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Found BEDBUG!!!"
Found a bedbug on my 2nd of 3 nights there. They did comp me for my room/expenses and dry cleaned a few items, HOWEVER they also told me they were going to close down my floor to ensure there was no other infestation. But, when I went back later that day to pick up my dry cleaning, the people at the front desk checking in people had no knowledge of […] he bedbug issue nor the fact that the floor was supposed to have been shut down when I mentioned it. "Great hotel, but noise factor keeps this one from being a "5""
Great ambiance, and in the afternoons the treats in the lobby were delicious! Enjoyed the extra touches in this Omni, and the service was excellent at front desk and in bar. Unfortunately the noise was a big problem. We stayed four nights on the 5th floor, and the doors "rattled" when another hotel door would close near us, and the last evening a loud […] speaking guest was next door and it was as if she was in our room. The noise between rooms and from the lobby was very loud. If I stay here again, I will upgrade to the suites and request an end room to avoid the lack of insulation that created sleepless nights. Other than the noise, it was a wonderful stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
