"Don't stay here"
Room was not clean. After walking around barefoot in the room my feet were black and maintenance had to be called to unclog the drain. Repeated attempts to get them to clear the drain prevented me from showering. Front desk people were not friendly. La Quinta brags they will check you in early if their is room. I would never recomend this hotel to anyone. First we requested a room with a king bed but there were none available because the rooms had not been cleaned by the maids that day.When we got up in the morning we could not make coffee in the room because the coffeemaker did not have all of its parts. "Don't stay unless you are desperate!"
We couldn't find any other place to stay after making a reservation through Hotels.com. The hotel gave us a smoking room. The place was filthy. This is 1 star low end motel. Breakfast was skimpy, sheets were dirty, broken beer bottles in the parking lot, nasty carpet. We wore our flip-flops in the shower. I could go on but will stop. My experience at this La Quinta location was perhaps the worst hotel experience I have ever had...including 3rd world countries. Not only was this location FILTHY, the front desk person was incredibly rude. This person should not be in the service industry. She has not the faintest concept of customer service. The room they gave me was a smoking room […] even though I had reserved non-smoking. It smelled beyond foul. It was a double bed room where both beds still had the sheets from the previous guest. The carpet had years of grime plus some questionable "foreign" matter by the bed. I had read previous reviews on this location and they were not good. "Consider your options FIRST"
Check-in was as expected. Room appearance overall was fine for the class of the hotel. However, regardless of the class of hotel, there is absolutely no excuse for the poor housekeeping, poor oversight and utter disregard of management towards the mold and filth I experienced in the bathroom of my room. When asked how my stay was the next morning, I […] politely responded both with the positives of the room and the negative of the cleanliness issues in the bathroom. Morning desk attendant asked for my contact information so that the hotel manager could call me to discuss the situation and offer her apologies. That was four days ago, and I have yet to hear back from her. General attitude of this hotels management is very obviously devoid of concern over customer satisfaction. "Don't stay!"

"No-go"
We called for a refund and left for another hotel. Called ahead--they said to check in after 1. Showed up at 3 and they were telling other people that rooms weren't clean yet, but they gave us our key. Went to the room but it smelled like an ashtray. Called the desk to remind them we'd reserved a non-smoking rm and we were told that 243 WAS non-smoking. […] Wrong answer. Put on hold for 10 min, finally went back to lobby. Frazzled clerk told us to wait for a maintenance guy to show up to ozone machine the room and "suck up all the smoke". Insisted on another room and had to wait another 45 min till a room was cleaned. Got up to the new non-smoking room and noticed the smoke detector had been cut off of the wall. That's when we called Expedia to organize a refund and left. The clerk copped some serious defensive attitude with my wife as we left. They were having a bad day apparently, but instead of working it out like pro's, they jerked us around and gave US a bad day too, so we cut our losses. These schlubs weren't worth the trouble. "La Quinta by the Airport in Austin, TX"
When we finally got to this new location, the clerk gave us our room key and we went up to the second floor where our room was. Only to find that the room that was given to us was occupied. There was clothes everywhere, bottles, and what seemed to be someone sleeping on one of the beds. Not only was I embarrassed because I had just walked in someone […] else's room, but I still had to go back downstairs with all of our luggage, straighten this out and then go back up to the third floor to get yet another room.
