As a high-tech incubator, Austin’s northwest fringes give credence to its nickname of “Silicon Hills.” Here, IBM conducts research on microprocessors, while The University of Texas provides seed money and space for promising technologies. Many tech vendors also operate in the area’s office parks. Nearby on Research Boulevard, the Arboretum at Great Hills melds shopping with Austin’s lush terrain.see all hotels in Austin
"Avoid It If you Can"
There are only two things of note about this Holiday Inn, the Legends Sports Bar had good bar food and the Hotel staff was friendly and smiley. Our room on the second floor was worn out. Lamp shades were old and ripped. We couldn't open the Ironing Board all of the way and then it couldn't be closed. No closet space and the bathroom had virtually nondescript […] tile and no ventilation system (whew). On our last night we were out all day until around 10PM and were shocked to find that our room was not made up; we had to call for towels and wash cloths. This is a bad hotel experience even at half the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

pointed shower so when you turn on it sprays you. Pillows are small more like a square. Annoying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Holiday Inn Austin-NW Plaza/Arboretum Area Sam, Please accept our apologies with regard to your shower. I will be sure to share this with our wonderful guestroom attendants as a reminder as to the importance of details. With regard to the pillows...WE AGREE. We just completed an order to replace all pillows in our king rooms and our double beds are next!
"Not worth the money."
I book this hotel a week before I went down. It was crazy expensive. I asked for a 2 bedroom I got a single king bed, with 3 people on the trip and my buddy has to sleep to sleep on a cot. They said the hotel is booked and there's no extra room. We used their gym and it was a joke. We have gym memberships but there was no LA fitness around the area. […] Their tv has signal issues, over half of the channels are flickering. We stayed at the double tree on our previous visit and it wa great. Never again holiday inn. "Horrible Bed and Pillows!"
Bed and Pillows were the most uncomfortable things I've ever slept with! Completely ruined it. The Bathroom was very plain and no mirror in the same room as the shower.Genuine Expedia guest review

"STUCK in ELEVATOR"
One of the worst stay... 1. The room didn't get clean up after we got back @ 1:45pm. Asked if it can be cleaned up after napping around 4pm and the answer is a BIG NO NO... 2. I WAS STUCK in the elevator... come on!!! Management should keep up with the maintenance and their staff!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

I don't rate this as a 4* that is for sure. It might be 2-3* max. For the money stay somewhere else. I dont normally fill out surveys. But might as well warn people that this is not a high quality hotel, more lower level in comparison.Genuine Expedia guest review
The front desk was very helpful and nice but the room itself was awful! The hotel needs a major renovation to it's rooms. Rooms were falling apart. Celing tiles were dropping, door knob on bathroom did not work, shower head and almost every other fixture in the room was broken. Shower would not regulate water. Would get it to exactly what you think […] is good then it would heat up to scalding temps. Wouldn't even let my children bathe in there. Rooms had weird smell. Will NEVER stay here again and will not recommend this hotel at all. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
