"Hassle"

"Would not recommend"
I was less than thrilled with my stay at the Hyatt. They are currently renovating the parking lot, so there is essentially no place to park on site. The lot was full when we arrived and we were told that we could park a couple blocks away and there was a shuttle. Otherwise, we could park anywhere in the available lot we could find, including the grass. […] Upon checking in, we received a room with 2 doubles, not the king room I booked on Expedia (which was the only option available on the website). They claimed that Expedia (and other travel websites) do not actually know what room types are available and you get what you get. I always use travel websites to book hotel rooms and this is the first time I have not received the room that I purchased. Each room has sets of complementary earplugs by the bed. Apparently the noise from construction gets really loud. Thankfully, we did not experience this because we were there on a weekend. This hotel is definitely not worth the price. Response by Hyatt Regency Austin Hello Lily, thank you for your review. We sincerely apologize that your stay did not mimic our Hyatt standards. We understand your frustration with our parking area since the construction and assure you our shuttle service, when available, is quick and helpful when parking outside the hotel. Please let us know the next time you visit and we'd be glad to take care of it for you.
"Stay away"
Upon arrival I was checked in by an extremely unpleasant employee. She was very dismissive of the fact that I had paid through Expedia, as if I should be embarassed by the fact that I had paid a reduced rate. The room was small and musty, the windows don't open, so goodluck trying to get some fresh air. The view was of the parking lot, obviously expedia […] customers get the cheap view. There was no soap or shower cap in the bathroom. VERY disappointing Hyatt. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"So much for a wonderful one year anniversary..."
I would love to rave about my experience at this hotel but it just lacked the "wow" factor I expected from this chain. My husband and I frequently stay in Hyatt hotels and we figured the one in Austin, right next to the water, would be another great place. We were wrong. Right from the start, the greeters looked like they were ready to get off their […] shift and the carpeting and decorations were dated. While walking to our room, we saw dirty dishes from people who ordered room service (martini and margarita glasses in the same spot two days in a row) and on top of that, the rooms were so small. We had to pay for parking, internet access in our rooms and in the business center ($6.95 for every 15 mins). Whenever we complained, we'd hear someone say, the nicer the hotel, the more you have to pay for amenities but I just found that so ridiculous because my husband and I have stayed in some fantastic and expensive hotels and had all the amenities taken care of. Prior to our arrival I asked them to do something special for our one year anniversary, some chocolate covered strawberries and a card to welcome us and they didn't even remember to bring up the card! How sweet! Anyways, we'll be staying somewhere else the next time we visit Austin! Sorry Hyatt Regency, I just expected so much more! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Three Disappointments"
While the hotel is quite attractive and well appointed, I was disappointed for three reasons; daily parking charge (where do they think they are, in a bustling metropolis?), daily internet fees (most hotels are now free internet) and the hot tub was closed for maintenance...on a holiday weekend!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"TOWN LAKE STAY"
WOULD HAVE LIKED TO RECEIVE THE ROOM CLASS I RESERVED...Genuine Expedia guest review
