The CNN Center and Centennial Olympic Park are the centerpieces of downtown Atlanta. The Georgia World Congress Center, America’s fourth largest convention center, borders the park. Next door, the Georgia Dome is home of the NFL’s Falcons. At Pemberton Place, the World of Coca-Cola allows for a close study of pop culture. "Only two blocks from Americasmart!"
Pleasant staff. Convenient downtown location. Good food. Plan to stay there for future Americasmart shows.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ellis Hotel. The customer service was wonderful and all the staff was polite and courteous. I will stay again if I'm ever in need of a hotel in downtown Atlanta.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice rooms, hotel itself doesn't offer much"
The rooms were clean and nice enough. The hotel lobby always had music blasting, and it was a bit much when you're coming back from a long day. Parking is not included. You have two choices: $25 valet parking or $32 for nearby lot parking. The parking lot rates are not clear from the signage, so beware.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Fantastic Botique Hotel"
I was attracted to the Ellis for its previous reviews and very reasonable rates available through Hotels.com. The hotel did not disappoint at all--exceptionally decorated and well maintained room, great service from all staff members and helpful tips about the neighborhood by the front desk. For a downtown Atlanta location, this really can't be beat. The […] ONLY downside was some MARTA construction, so getting to the hotel was slightly complicated, but I think it should be resolved here soon. Stay at the Ellis! You certainly won't regret it! This was a first time experience for me and before ever entering the building we were greeted with the most overwhelming plesantries by the hotel staff and bell hops. These guys know customer service and have won my respect and any return opportunity I have to stay at the Ellis on Peachtree Drive!!!!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is an unbelievable facility!! Wonderful rooms, comfy bed, great view, and exceptional service!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent customer service"
The stay was great. I called ahead to request a quite room since it was in downtown Atlanta and was put in the perfect room. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, especially Troy. an excellent all around experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was not satisfied with the staff. Inaproprate questions from the staff that took us to the room. The front desk staff was rude especially the young lady that checked us in and out. Didn't like the parking situation. Very inconvient the room was great however this was not.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Valet is the only reason service got a 3. Front desk not so friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I think Chauncy the bell hop should get a raise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast was served a little later than I am use to having it, but it was very good once it got set up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel upgrading and renovating. Will be even better when done. Staff are very friendly and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"high quality, convenient"
I was very happy with my Ellis stay -- the room was well appointed and clean, and the staff was very helpful. The outside noise was a little high at times, but overnight it quieted down to a reasonable level. I'm staying there again on my next trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Ellis is always a great stay but they need to get their wireless internet fixed, there is no reason that the internet is so raggedy in this day and age.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great boutique hotel downtown Atlanta"
Couldn't have been better. Marta station is on the same block so super easy to get around and to get to airport. Very comfortable room, linens, toiletries, good cable tv, very good restaurant. I did not have a car to worry about. Restaurants of every sort are within easy walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stick with the Larger Upscale Chains"
The sheets were soggy and smelled sour. The directions promised to be left at the front desk for me were not there in the morning. The distance from the hotel to my destination were completely wrong and misleading.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Small rooms. Service way to a three star hotel, not a four or five star.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice, modern, great location"
Overall great experience! The only thing, had to ask to change the silk bed sheets because it looked used (fabric fibers were pulled), and they changed for regular right away!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Must do more to live up to image of luxe hotel"
Pros *Friendly, helpful staff *Very good restaurant in the Terrace; fresh innovative American cooking anywhere. I *Decor modern, tasteful. Cons: Ellis' 'luxe' image runs skin deep. Most of these things require better training of the staff and better attention to detail. Problems: **In room, desk pad was dirty and greasy. **Hair stuck in corner on floor […] of bathroom. Bathrooms should be immaculate. **Rooms AND hallways must be vacuumed more thoroughly. **In-room coffee VILE. **AC too loud. **Sheets pilled. **Phone system quirky and required a trip downstairs to sort out. In Restaurant: **Music too loud **Had to go to other tables to get a teaspoon, silverware and salt shakers--which were empty. **Chipped candle holder on table and didnt even have real candle inside. You can do better, folks. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was not well vacuumed when I arrived and during the stay. There was debris on the carpet and the corners were atrocious.Hotel staff, especially at check in , were great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mis-grade hotel that is not clean"
Friendly staff, but do not understand cleanliness or high-end service. Service feels like it belongs in a small-town Holiday Inn. Small room and dark corridors. When I checked-in to my room, there were dried drops all around the toilet. The bed linen had stains and a hair inside the cover near the feet area. Immediately called Housekeeping to clean […] the room while I was there ... They change the linens and pillowcase and then proceed to place the clean pillow on the floor to make the bed. They should have made the bed first and then changed the new pillowcases ... not place these on the floor. So I had them change the pillowcases again. As I was standing there ... obviously the person did not feel there was anything wrong with putting clean face pillow on the floor. That said, they were very apologetic and nice. Also when I checked in around 3 PM, outside the room the small hallway was smelling a bit from the lunch tray left behind. Ate at the restaurant, food is decent and creative for Atlanta. Service was okay. The wine was old ... first glass I ordered had turned to vinegar and was unpalatable. The front desk staff were polite but lacked real customer care. I didn't know this till arrival but the Ritz Carlton is right across the street and the rate was another $50 more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the customer ratings, I expected better than it was. Decor has not aged well; photos of facilities look better than actual. I was told that coffee would be available in the lobby at 6 a.m.--that's when I needed it, and that was before room service or coffee shop started--but I had to wait 15 minutes for the coffee and then wait for the milk/cream. […] That presented a big problem for my schedule. Everything else was okay, but only okay. So I give it a 3--not the 4.6 average posted for this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"For lovers of Boutique Hotels"
A very nice hotel with all the amenities--including free in-room internet, complimentary coffee in the lobby in the morning and wine tasting in the evening, a pocket-sized map of downtown Atlanta, and Gilchrist & Soames toiletries. Linens and pillows are nice, and two waffle weave bath robes hang in the closet. Elevators require a key card for added […] protection. "Good alternative to the Ritz"
I have stayed at this hotel before and it's usually hands down a five star experience. However, this second time was lacking for two reasons: there was a constant noise that we finally determined, at the end of our stay, to be the toilet, along with street noise (we were on the 8th floor) and I called in advance to request a refrigerator in the room […] and it never showed up. Hotels.com offers an awesome "bed & breakfast" package (includes free valet and breakfast for two) for the Ritz Carlton across the street. When that deal is not available, I stay at the Ellis. "The Ellis on Peachtree - A Must"
Feels a bit like a boutique hotel with very modern character. Excellent location downtown, although the side street can get a bit noisy at the lower levels. Valet parking only, but you can use self-park down the side street. Phenomenal breakfast at the hotel restaurant (leveraging from an exhaustive list of locally-grown product suppliers) at a very […] reasonable price (with or without coupon obtained from the main desk). Overall a fabulous experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hotel Ellis - Needs Wifi but Great Otherwise"
This is the second time I have stayed at the Ellis and it is a great place with very friendly and accomodating staff and very nice rooms in a neat building and convenient location. However, it needs wifi. "nice hotel- poor location"
This was a would-have-been-nice boutique hotel. The rooms were small but nicely decored. The staff was helpful and friendly. HOWEVER, at night you want to actually SLEEP in your hotel room. This is IMPOSSIBLE at this hotel because it is located in an area downtown that backs up to an ALLEY where they come and get the trash from various buildings beginning […] at 3:30am!!!!! DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want to relax. You will NOT bbe able to rest. We will go back to our "oldie but goodie" hotel choices the next time we are there. The hotel staff was outstanding. They provided outstanding services and were always pleasant and helpful. Also, the hotel was very comfortable and the restaurant food and services were excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Loved it... and the food was amazing too!"
Overall, I had a great experience staying at the Ellis hotel... some pluses: historical building that has been wonderfully updated with modern interiors and fixtures, it's aross street from subway station (Marta), reasonable rate, helpful staff, super-cool zen-like bathroom (loved it!), super-comfy beds, and most surprising of all... the hotel restaurant, […] called Terrace, had over-the-top amazing food (and I am a very fussy kitty when it comes to food). It's a "farm-to-table" concept, with local, organic, sustainable ingredients. Highly recommend for both lunch and dinner. On the downside, the neighborhood just south of the hotel is sketchy... so stay on the north side of hotel, or jump on the Marta train to head up to Uptown (I went to "Thai on 10th" up there, and it was great too). Downtown Atlanta stinks. That is is a fact. Hotel is a nice Boutique style property.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Crappy Elevator, Dead Kithchen, Amateur Reception"
In summary: - Elevator is cheap and card access horrible: door man had to open my room w/ his card 'cos mine wouldn't work: same with the elevator. - Hotel Kitchen either doesn't exist or closes way too early - Parking is extremely inconvenient and it is public parking; you'll pay each night - Receptionist desk sometimes has no one sitting there or […] long wait/hold times - Cheap Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel is near everything downtown, and is a great escape from the other convention hotels in the city. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. Evening wine down is a great excuse to relax before going into the city for dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Contemporary Elegance and Great Service"
the interior of the lobby is very chic and contemporary. The room was comfortable and very clean. The only complaint was the incredibly loud air conditioner/fan system, which we turned off and it was great. The windows open, which is a great asset these days in a hotel. Very nicely appointed bathroom with beautiful fixtures, and very comfortable bed. The […] only downside is there are only 2 elevators, which can be a little busy, but we didn't have to wait long for one to come to our floor. The restaurant is great, service by all employees was very friendly during our trip. The food in the restaurant is all "farm to table" which is great; fresh and nicely presented. Location is very convenient; right near a MARTA stop; near Centennial Olympic Park and Coca-Cola experience. The downtown area has friendly ambassadors to help you find your way around the area, and we felt very safe. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

This hotel is excellent value. friendly, competant staff, super clean, modern rooms, no problems.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best hotel experience I've had in years."
It has, sadly, become unheard of to provide the level of outstanding and friendly customer service as what I experienced at the Ellis, even from most 4 and 5 star hotels. While this may not be a luxury facility like the Ritz Carlton across the street, I'll match the Ellis staff - from the doorman to the front desk clerks to the bartenders to the housekeeping […] staff to the maintenance folks - up against anyone, anywhere, any time. And do NOT leave without trying the cheeseburger! Bear in mind, this is a completely refurbished hotel in an older building...though you wouldn't know it from the inside decor. That said, I did have a problem with the heat not working in my room the first night; however, the front desk happily moved me to another room in which everything worked perfectly. Doubt I'd stay anywhere else anytime I might to return to this area for either business or vacation. The Ellis staff delivered THAT GOOD of an experience. I truly felt like a guest, not a customer. "Exceptional in every way!"
Where to begin....Bre in room reservations was my first contact and I had a great feeling about our stay. At every turn, my business colleague and I we were impressed. From the excellent service provided to us by Asia, Beth and Phil in the Terrace Restaurant, to the quality and presentation of the food...wow! The nightly wine down was lovely, also. "great staff..unclean room"
The staff at the hotel was exceptional. Everyone worked aggressively to ensure my comfort. I changed rooms 3 times before settling in. "Great Local Boutique... Great Staff"
Clearly they have tremendous management here. The staff is all over it and very friendly. Nice free wine tasting in he evenings. Terrace breakfast service was a little slow, but really great quality... better than the breakfast at the Ritz Carlton directly across the street, and far cheaper. Rooms was a little on the small side, but luxuriously appointed […] and very comfortable. Unlike other reviews, we had no street noise issues, but we were on the 16th floor. "Amazing Stay at The Ellis"
My boyfriend and I had to come to Atlanta for a day, arriving late the night before. Our room was impeccable, with a beautiful view and comfortable bed. I especially loved the shower and provided toiletries, they were a real treat. Overall I'd say the hotel is exceptional.
