"Mis-grade hotel that is not clean"
Friendly staff, but do not understand cleanliness or high-end service. Service feels like it belongs in a small-town Holiday Inn. Small room and dark corridors. When I checked-in to my room, there were dried drops all around the toilet. The bed linen had stains and a hair inside the cover near the feet area. Immediately called Housekeeping to clean […] the room while I was there ... They change the linens and pillowcase and then proceed to place the clean pillow on the floor to make the bed. They should have made the bed first and then changed the new pillowcases ... not place these on the floor. So I had them change the pillowcases again. As I was standing there ... obviously the person did not feel there was anything wrong with putting clean face pillow on the floor. That said, they were very apologetic and nice. Also when I checked in around 3 PM, outside the room the small hallway was smelling a bit from the lunch tray left behind. Ate at the restaurant, food is decent and creative for Atlanta. Service was okay. The wine was old ... first glass I ordered had turned to vinegar and was unpalatable. The front desk staff were polite but lacked real customer care. This hotel was the absolute worse hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff besides 2 people were absolutely rude, the area in which the hotel is located in is not one to be desired. I would not recommend this hotel to one of my worst enemies..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not stay here - this hotel is not as advertised"
The hotel is small and dingy and is terribly maintained. The lobby and elevator landing floors are dirty and smell. The rooms themselves are small, dirty and poorly maintained. I can't believe the guest rating is correct. And I find it hard to believe that the hotel has a 4 star rating - there is no food or room service in the hotel. DO NOT BOOK INTO […] THIS HOTEL! "Don't stay at The Ellis, Atlanta, Item stolen!!!"
My husband and I just had a 3 night stay at The Ellis to celebrate a 50th birthday. After checking out we realised we had left an expensive gift on the bedside unit. We immediately contacted the hotel however they were very unhelpful, especially the hotel manager and the receptionist. Our after care service was very poor and we were eventually told […] no item had been left in the room!!! This was a complete lie as somebody working at the hotel has found our item and not declared it - this is totally dishonest and theft!!
