"Ugh."
I will say that, with the exception of one person, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. But other than that . . . I would not stay there again. I was attending a conference at the Hyatt Regency which was nearby, and I wish I had spent $50 more a night to stay there. The Best Western is a motel, plain and simple, and with all the rain, […] just getting to my room left me drenched. Ridiculous shower curtain--there was no way NOT to flood the bathroom with every shower, and the nozzle was so high (I'm not short, either) that it was a fine mist by the time the water reached my head. Carpet and decor about 20 years old, with the exception of the bedding. Vagrants around day and night so I didn't participate in evening events at the Hyatt because I didn't want to walk back alone in the dark. "Great people, older hotel."
First of all, I didn't realize it was essentially a motel, where your room comes out onto an outside open walkway, but that one was my fault. You could likely tell by the pictures. The staff was very friendly, but the room looked as if it had been through a bit of a beat down: surfaces worn down, stains on the chair, old carpet, lampshade askew, sheets […] stained, leaking shower faucet. All of that I could have lived with (hotels do take a beating) if I hadn't had to kill a roach in the bathroom my last night there. The staff took off some snack charges to compensate, which was very nice, but not quite equal to me sleeping in my clothes with the lights on because of the roach. It is the third time we stayed at this location. This last time was the best! The hotel was beautifully renovated. The entire staff was GREAT. We felt welcomed and pampered. "A little scary at first."
When I first checked in it was already late at night... Late enough for the ATL night time weirdos to be out roaming the streets. The hotel is set up atrium style, with outside hallways and the curtains in the room don't close so people standing in the hall can look directly into the bed. I fixed that with a couple of hair bands to give myself some […] privacy. After the initial shock, I got comfortable and it wasn't so bad. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, and the breakfast in the morning was delicious. They serve fresh scrambled eggs, and have a homemade waffle maker. They have a business center with free printing, free wi-fi and the staff were ever present and friendly. There were several tours of young students in and out which kept the lobby lively. The front guy donnell is very rude and snappy. The parking is sketchy and really bad. It's small and tight and they charge $15 for it...OR you can leave your car in a lot a block away for the same sketchiness and price. It's an old fashion motel right next to Peachtree Center. The room was spartan, but clean. The water in the shower (no tub) never got comfortably hot. The bed was fine, but what looked like an extra blanket was a decoration intended to look like a bedcover. The first room we were assigned clearly had not been cleaned since last occupied. Beds hadn't been slept in, but the toilet was dirty, soap bars had been used and there was a razor in the shower. "the pictures are deceiving cheap hotel"
The hotel was very old and they tried to make it look new with paint and linens. You had to walk outside corridors to get to your room not even enclosed. The parking was underground in a cage.
