They put me in the wrong room type - reserved and paid for balcony but they did not have one available. They put me in a room that smelled heavily of smoke. After being put on hold for over 15 minutes, the manager was rude and only after arguing, they finally put me into a balcony room, but didn't have a king bed as reserved. Staff was wonderful but the hotel itself fell super short. No regular t.v And it was six dollars to watch one episode of one show. The movie selection, athough good was twenty dolars a movie. The location was awesome considering what surrounding hotels go for, but it was the bottom of the "fancy" hotel barrel. For the 20 dollars more or so anight up […] grade to get the basics. "First and Last Stay at Marriott"
customer service is not poor - it is non-exsistent!! Went to restaurant for breakfast and stood around 5 minutes, finally seated ourselves. It took 1 hour for an omelett. Waitress never returned to refill coffee or ask if we needed anything else. There was no one else in the restaurant. On 2nd day returned to room at 4:00 to discover it was not cleaned. […] Requested clean towels and washclothes, and to please put them by door not to disturb us. Within 15 minutes the phone was ringing, reception desk saying maid was at the door with towels but there was a "do not disturb" notice on door. No washclothes - told there were none left. We did not receive coffee for the coffee maker, went to front desk to ask for some, they could not provide it. Went for dessert and coffee in 2nd restaurant, this also took 1 hour. Received coffee 1st, an hour later we got pie. 4.00 per cup for coffee - no refills. Had to ask three times for bill. Finally, on departure morning, asked car be brought up at 7:30 as we had an appointment. Discovered the car was there, but the keys were not. Asked front desk, they couldn't help us we ended up waiting another 10 minutes for keys. We complained about the lack of service to the desk manager - his attitude "I don't care". This hotel did what we needed...it got us in downtown atlanta. I don't like the parking valet garbage, but I hate valet parking in general. $28 a night for parking???!!! I guess that's just dt atlanta for ya. The place is crammed into downtown atlanta like a sardine, but the staff is SUPER friendly and accomodating as can be. The rooms are damp feeling […] from the AC units. I don't know if that's just because of the personal ac units or what but the room was like wet the entire time we were there. This place is super close to the Aquarium, World of Coca Cola and Olympic park area. Out the door, take a left, go a couple of blocks and you're there. Internet is only free if you are a marriott card holder. The fix, go down to the lobby and ask for the marriott card...it's free. Then connect, open your browser, charge the 24 hours to your room, enter your last name and room number and you got free internet. This place is busy so it must be a pretty popular hotel there. The parking totally sucks and even having enough room to park for check in....but if you can get past that and the damp a/c rooms, it's a good place to stay overall. There were problems with guests in other rooms with arguments in the middle of the night. This is not a Hotel staff issue as when called they came right away and took care of it - but it was 3am.
