Staff was extremely friendly and willing to help, the parking situation and procedures especially for checking out were rediculous. The hallways were dark and dreary. "Not sure about a Sheraton"
Found a bed bug on one of the beds (looked it up on smart phone to verify), the battery for the safe was dead, the bathroom door lock was broken, the "white" towels had black stains on them. Would have been nice to have a small fridge in the room, a comparable room at a DoubleTree would have one. Over 6 dollars for a domestic bottle beer? Did not know we had to walk on a small walkway next to traffic through the cold parking garage with our luggage to get from the car to the elevator, then back out from the elevator to the lobby. 29 dollars per night for valet or 24 for self parking, but did not use the car for the three days there. "Make sure you know what you are paying for online!"
I actually stayed here on Tuesday night and then on a Friday night. I used Expedia to book both nights and paid separately for each room. I paid the SAME amount for each room and booked a king size bed for BOTH nights. Tuesday night was excellent. I got exactly what i wanted and paid for. Then Friday came...i got to the room and realized the bed was […] a queen and the room was less than half the size of the first room. It made no sense. I paid for a king. I called the front desk to express concern and was only told that "all Kings were booked or unavailable due to construction and that the price of the queen and king were the same". How could the price be the same and why would i be allowed to book it AND PAY online if all rooms were taken? and why did i not get a refund of at least the difference in price since i paid it?? This makes no sense and it really upsets me the more i think about it to this day. I however, was polite and stayed in the tiny room and bed and then sadly was punished for being so polite and had to hear the loudest people all night and all morning that i have ever heard in my LIFE. The mixture of screaming and hysterical laughter and commentary from one room was perfect coupled with the room next door containing nothing but loud noises from people having **x all night and morning long. "Disappointed"
The hotel was clean however I will NOT being staying here again. Check in was at 3 and we did not get in our room till 4:45 we was going to the braves game which was @ 7. So needless to say after 4 people rushing to get ready and traffic we was late. "Convienant location"
We had a choice between the Sheraton or the Westin (the Westin was only a few dollars more a night) we chose the Sheraton. When we first arrived I told the gentleman at the front desk we were checking in.. He was counting money and did not acknowledge me for a good minute or 2 until he was done. The room was a view of a street. And it was very loud. […] When I moved my pillow on the bed, the dust from the end table was flying everywhere. The light in the bathroom and the tissue holder were also covered in dust. The drain stopper in the tub did not work and water took a solid 5 minutes to get warm. We decided to get a movie off the tv the last night that we were paying good money for. It wouldn't work so we called the front desk. They said they'd have someone right up. 30 mins later we tried again and it worked. Nobody came by or called to tell us they fixed it elsewhere. It was a pretty convienant location but if I could do it over again I would pick the Westin (it was in the center of downtown instead of on the outskirts) for the amount of noise we heard in our room we may as well have been in the center of downtown. The free internet wifi hotspot in the coffee lounge was a welcome alternative to $12 per day in-room service; and the public spaces, workout room, and pool were all in good shape, clean, and in good condition. "O.K.--But Not Great!"
Our stay was for a weekend--Saturday and Sunday nights. Saturday night--we found the North Tower to be very noisy with hall noise, conversations and slamming doors. Sunday was more peaceful with less traffic, but noises from the hallway were still most evident. Our room was also very warm, and thermostat adjustment didn't seem to help at all. We were given "carte blanche" of the housekeeping cart; however, it's still not the same as having your room refreshed. We used MARTA for our means of transportation from the airport, and we would caution anyone arriving with luggage to be weary. You are an immediate target for panhandlers, so our advice is to make use of the Ambassador s for directions and then act like you know where you're going--with a purpose. "There are other hotels in the area"
This hotel is fine overall, but not what I expect from a 4-star hotel. My bed was short-sheeted (the sheets were too small for the bed). The hard candy was stale. The hotel is huge and the pool area is pretty, but I was in the tower, which was a long walk from the front desk, and no one offered help with my bags. The exercise room didn't appear to […] have cleaner for the equipment, and only had towels at one entrance. The weights were weird--(they had a very large circumference) and I didn't feel safe trying to use them. I had some trouble finding the ice machine (no signs, no indication in the room guide), and when I asked at the desk, the person directed me only to the closest ice machine to the lobby. I asked for an ice bucket, and he told me to get the one from my room (which was quite a distance from the front desk). The correct answer to the question was "the ice machines are to the right of the elevators in the tower" (all the rooms are to the left and the sign is small and the same color as the wall).
