We arrived friday night around 9:30 and checked into our room i had booked the hotel thru this website and requested non smoking since i have 2 two year olds with bad smoke allergies. we get to the room and our non smoking room smelt like an ashtray the smell was overwhelming. it was not healthy for my kids or myself (im pregnant) to stay in that room. […] we went to the front desk clerk he said that was the only room available in hotel so we checked out. at 10:00 at night we are driving around atlanta trying to find a new hotel to stay at since we were 4 hours from home. the front desk guy was very nice though. It was very nice, except in the morning the breakfast room could not accommodate the guests. It took 30 mins to get something to eat. We chose this hotel because they offered breakfast. There was something big going on at the Georgia Dome and the plase was packed with bus loads of people from Mexico. Everything about the hotel itself was great. The only complaint, and this is a very minor minor minor complaint was the location. It is not walking distance to the downtown/midtown areas. But for the price and convenience (it was just a 2-3min drive from midtown) it was unbeatable. I think we will use this hotel from now on when we stop in Atlanta.

We couldn't find the hotel and the person at the desk didn't hear we were from out of town when giving directions. The front desk personnel should always assume that people are not familiar with landmarks nor street names when giving directions to the hotel. But we finally got there.

We stayed at the La Quinta Inn on Chantilly Dr. It was clean and centrally located near Downtown Atlanta and Stone Mountain. It's also not far from the North Pointe Mall where they have the American Girl Store. The staff was very nice. The only thing we noticed is the 2nd day they did not clean the bathroom or vacuum. Convenient if you have a car to most of the places you may want to see in Atlanta. Right on the freeway, which is nice, but there is a little background noise in the room if you don't run your air conditioner. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breafast was typical La Quinta.
