"Just ok!"
The room itself was beautiful and modern. It didn't have a microwave or refrigerator. Be prepared to pay for parking every time you leave. This hotel wins major points on location. Amenities, not so much!!! You have to pay for every single convience! Extremely close to all the major attractions (aquarium, museums, coca cola world, etc.) Nice Hotel but […] a little pricey! I had a great view from a standard room by the way! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Melia Hotel - needs management"
The Melia Hotel is in a good location for college activities and businessmen. The staff was polite and friendly but untrained with no leadership. Staff stood around with dirty dishes on the tables in the lobby. Restaurants were closed except for lobby bar. Thus the staff on hand wasn't trained to perform the duties that were assigned. (Cook made the […] eggs but we had to ask the waiter to bring out the toast and the potatoes which were suppose to be a part of entrre). Though there was a manager on duty, he/she was in the backroom not paying attention to the actual needs of the guest. In short, it looked like the staff just needed someone to lead. I know this is Melia's first hotel in the USA and I am sure adjustments will be made. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not the service I expected"
We have stayed at the Melia on a few occasios which is why we chose it this time, the service we experienced was horrible particularly at the restaruants, the staff would look at us as if we were bothering them, when we finally had the opportunity to order drinks we left before they were brought out because once again we waited for long time, while […] we were waiting a few people walked because of the wait, and no they were not busy.... "THE WORSE HOTEL EVER!"
From a positive aspect I will say this...the hotel lobby area was very nice. great atmosphere. My opinion changed once we arrived to our room. For the price the room, look like it was cheaply updated and the bathroom looked like it was never touched. The chair and throw pillow in the room had stains on it. The housekeeping staff had the worse attitudes. […] When we arrived back to our room the night before check out, after being gone all day, we were upset at the idea that our bed had not been touched and the floor was not vacuumed. But I guess we should be grateful just to get towels and the trashed removed. I am a frequent traveler and I have never wrote a bad review, but this I could not let go. They will never have my business again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Excellent hotel at Atlanta Downtown. No privacy as the balcony of rooms are adjecent and open to cross-over. There is a small gap in the wall seperating two balconies and it is risky. May be it is a feature for the celebrities or VIP people to get access to each others room secretely !!! Hotel parking is too expensive, $28 per day !!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Melia Hotel"
Very nice Hotel and convenient to the Marta and Fox Theater. Our maid service left something to be desired. The soap and shampoo were never refilled and no bathmat one night. The front desk did respond but housekeeping did not do all that they could have.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel, A Few Kinks to Work Out"
Melia has great rooms, great pool, and nice amenities, including a decent buffet breakfast. If the price is right and you are visiting GA Tech this is a steal. One block from the North Ave Marta stop too! For the breakfast, I would recommend better fresh squeezed orange juice, quality bread, and grits (hello, Melia, you ar in the south), but otherwise […] a good deal. The folks at check in recommended the sports bar, but obviously no one told the sports bar that it should actually expect guests . . . it has no life, no scene. We stopped in for a quick lunch and no one was there except the bartender, who also doubles as the server. He seemed bothered that someone would actually stop in. He was so 'busy' we had to go to the bar to close our check. He should be fired or taught how to run a bar. And seriously, it's a sports bar with no GA Tech memorabilia and it's a block from campus. Then there is the issue of the main floor which no longer has a lobby bar (I would not consider the sports bar in this category). With lots of beautiful tables and chairs, romantic candles everywhere, and that crazy techno music, it is a great gathering place. But there is no bar. Weird. This is Melia's first hotel in the U.S. so I'm assuming they are trying to figure out the kinks and the bad economy probably hasn't helped. I would give it an overall rating of a 5 only because I think it is great potential and I would love to see it do well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Horrible service-Melia is a pitiful hotel"
Housekeeping left our door wide open and we luckily had nothing stolen. Next day housekeeping broke our toilet. No microwave without paying $25 per day extra. Even low budget hotels provide microwaves for no extra charge. We had to wait in line for breakfast which was horrible. Asked for coffee twice and never received coffee only a bill for a breakfast […] that was supposed to be included with the room. Food was horrible. Previous reviewers were correct that you hear ambulances all night and day long. Hotel is not for familes. Pool was not usuable since there was parties around the pool every night and most of the day on Saturdays. People smoking marijuana and partying all night long in the hallways and elevators. This hotel wants to be high end with a Las Vegas type of pool party environment. Maybe they should spend money on buying flat screen televisions that were promised in the room description or microwaves for the room. Service was pitiful and did not even mention the issues with the pool party service. Did not get washclothes daily or even enough towels. When checking out we explained about what had happened and all we got was a shoulder shrug and a pitiful I am sorry. Well I can say I am truly sorry for ever booking this hotel. The previous reviews were right on the money. I can't say enough about the issues with the service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Service!!!"
This hotel was so much more than I expected. The concierge was amazingly helpful. They went above and beyond in every way. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and their pool is like a movie set. I would and have recommended this hotel to anyone I know.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel itself is very nice, but guest should not have to pay for parking. Especially if they are staying for multiple nights. The lot only allows 20min before the rate continues to rise. Also all of the rooms should be equipped with modern technology. For example, the television. I loved the hotel, but would not recommend due to the prices in pa […] rking. "Horrible service"
Where do I begin? This place has potential but the housekeeping service is horrendous. Please read the other reveiws seriously because I did not and lived to regret. The room needed cleaning and the hotel staff were told three times before it got done Process took an entire day. Veiw from balcony was great but railing was shaky and loose. Valet was […] misleading about parking costs. I was told $28.00 for entire stay and then later informed at front desk it was $28.00 each day. The breakfast was good but service was slow. Only one roll of toilet paper per day which for a family is not enough. The lobby and pool areas. are very nice so it is very much a let down that the rooms are so plain. No refrigerator in room. Vending machine was out of sodas. Did I forget to mention that room looks nothing like the photo on website. Bed was small for kingsize. I could go on. The location is great for sightseeing. However not worth the trouble due to the factors above. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Melia Hotel Atlanta Ga"
The hotel is right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. It is a beautiful place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I felt needing some inprovement was your housekeeping staff.eg checking draws to make sure they'er clean, replacing tissues and fresh soap. Other than that I will be retuning and bringing some friends and family.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice breakfast, Good location"
I stayed two nights in Atlanta, visiting my daughter. At check-in, I was not given any information about the amenities. When I tried to call the front desk to inquire about a pool or fitness center, they did not answer the phone and there was no info in the room..Towels and soap were sparse. But, the room was nice and clean, with a beautiful view of […] GA Tech and the Olympic flame. I was delighted by the American\European food chioces at breakfast. Valet staff were very friendly. "OK Price...but shortcomings.."
I booked the Melia for a July 4th trip to visit family. The price was reasonable and it was very clear on hotels.com my rate included breakfast. I was there 3 nights, had room service breakfast the first morning, nothing the following two mornings. On checkout, the room service was included on my bill and when I challenged it, was told several times […] 'room service doesn't count'. Now that's fair as long as it is clear and it was not. Neither on hotels.com, when I inquired on check-in to confirm the breakfasts were included, nor when I actually ordered the room service. Soured my taste for the hotel. Also, granted it was a holiday weekend but it is a very loud hotel. The room was not that clean, as I dropped something by the nightstand and when I leaned down to pick it up, I could see all kinds of litter around the head of the bed. TV: Even though a few blocks from CNN world headquarters, this was the only channel showing "no satelite signal" that I could not receive. There was a holiday outdoor pool party by the hotel scheduled until 2:00am. I went up there about midnight or so and it was closed. I had to hail my own cab when leaving for airport. I travel for business constantly and this was my first Melia stay. Not impressed. Stayed July 2011, traveled solo Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
