At 4 Am a drunken Basketball team and there Girl friend s stomped the hallways and bounced beer cans, Yelling in the parking lot that went on till 6 am. "Hotlanta"
No matter how nice it looks, AIR CONDITIONING is key. I could not get the sleep I needed with out a comfortable, air conditioned room. Also their ad offered a gym and hot tub--No hot tub and the gym consisted of two treadmills and two 8 lb dumbbells. "Home away from home"
Went on a family trip to Atlanta to see the sights. The hotel is about 12 miles from the Aquarium/Coca-cola museum etc. However, be prepared for Atlanta traffic as it took us about half hour to get there using carpool lanes. Unfortunately, during the first day of the trip I fell sick and so did my kid. We stayed in the room (two bedroom apartment) all […] day. Our kid threw up and the staff was very prompt in changing the sheets. The second kid was in the living area and watched TV all day. My wife was able to go to the pharmacies and grocery stores which were about a mile away to procure supplies. But a good day of rest enabled us to complete the trip without a hitch. The room was good with a small kitchenette. The only issues were that some of the cabinet draws were broken. The beds and bath were impeccable. The breakfast was superb. Since it caters to business clientele, they even have evening means on some days of the week. It was a little cold for us to use the swimming pools, but I hope it will be fun during summer months. Very complete breakfast bar including FRESH fruit, both whole and sliced. The Pet Fee listed on the Hotels.com site for this hotel was lower than the fee told to us by the desk clerk upon check-in. The clerk checked the Hotels.com listing to verify, and allowed us to pay the lower fee. Also, the hotel requested that the pet be in a crate, if left alone […] in the room. "First choice for this area..."
The hotel was very nice and conveniently located for my purposes. The morning "buffet" did not provide many options but was satisfactory... most people would probably enjoy it more, but I'm a low-carber. The room was great, had a full refrigerator, stove, dish washer, kitchen sink, couch, desk, TV in the living room and the bedroom, queen bed, vanity/sink […] in the "bath" area. The bathroom was relatively small, but it was not an issue and the closet space was quite roomy. The only "issue" I had was with the speed of the internet, it was not satisfactory most nights, especially when there was two bus loads of younger people staying the night. Most nights I could get what I needed to with some patients but that night it was impossible to use. "Sandy Spirngs is Beautiful"
Driving to Sandy Springs, I took i-75, and skipped to toll booth on 85, it was faster.. Finally found the hotel, its sits back in a beautiful neighborhood. Close to everything.. at night drove on 9 south and north and zipped thru each town.. the hotel is close to really nice shopping centers.. Monday thur Wednesday they have a social hour from 5:30-7 […] pm.. we had loaded baked potato one night and soups the other, so that was nice to have a snack... Breakfast was great too. Everthing you need to start the morning..I did not use the pool but it was open or the fitness center, but I'm pretty sure it wouldnt of disappointed me. Based on previous ratings I had good exptectations of facility. This hotel suited my needs perfectly. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and accommodating, and the price I got was very reasonable in my experience in this part of Atlanta. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and of consistently good quality during my three night stay. It's almost a shame that I didn't have more excuses to […] use the little kitchen. Also worth mentioning are the curtains on the windows, which blocked light effectively when drawn. The last hotel I stayed at was also excellent, but the curtains didn't close; it made a big difference. The only small exception in an otherwise glowing opinion of Sonesta ES is the pillows on the bed. They felt like they were wrapped in plastic or something under the pillow case. I'd love to stay here again, but I'll be bringing my own pillow. Otherwise an excellent place to sleep and just hang out. "Not back for a quick sleep"
As it was two hours into the New Year, and LSU just lost their bowl game, we were so glad to finally check in. "Nice neighborhood-hotel could use some updates"
In ATL for our yearly trip with my hubby and sister and brother-in- law for Thanksgiving. We stayed here in 2011 when the hotel was under "Staybridge Suite" management. Always thought this was a very nice hotel....still is. Once I found out that the hotel was under new management " Sonesta Suites" I thought maybe there would have been some updates made. […] The pics online looks different. However, when we got to our room, the decor was the same. There was a huge red stain on the carpet in the livingroom. The cabinets in the bathroom area were a little damaged. However, the rooms were clean. Complimentry breakfast was great each morning. Staff was excellent. Overall, the stay was great. We had the two bedroom suite. It was wonderful for our family of 6. The kids had their own bathroom and there were 3 tvs. The breakfast had more than just the basics. Staybridge is a solid brand. Their rooms are nice, clean and comfy. The only slight discomfort is that we got our 2-bedroom accommodation on the 3rd floor and there were no elevators, but we are not elderly.
