"Close to Mercer University"
Was there for business at Mercer University which was 5 minutes away. Room was very clean and towels were plentiful. Upon first arrival, there was only a 1/4 roll of toilet paper but a full roll was brought up to the room in 5 minutes. Very well kept and clean hotel. We stay here alot for frequent business trips in Atlanta. It is only a short drive to downtown, and about 1/3 the cost of comparable hotels downtown. They have a great breakfast (western omlets, waffles, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, pastries, etc.). We have stayed there about 5 different times, and have never had a bad ex […] perience. "A tad above average but stay away from Floor 4"
I stayed in this hotel during the Atlanta Gift Show because decent hotels that are closer to downtown are too expensive. The location wasn't bad - a few blocks from 285 and a Target, about a 35 minute drive to downtown plus time for parking or rush hour. The hotel wasn't bad; it just wasn't great. I would give them a check next to "needs improvement". They […] have two elevators but one was broken (it didn't seem like they were in a hurry to fix it - I stayed there for 6 nights). What's wrong with the 4th floor you ask? One night as I was getting into bed, our room started to smell like an ashtray. I called the front desk and apparently out of the entire hotel, there were 6 smoking rooms and they were right next to my room. It smelled awful!! Luckily the smoker was only there for 2 nights out of my 6. With so many hotels that are 100% smoke free these days, this is a big negative for this hotel (and are those 6 rooms really bringing them that many customers?). The perks of this hotel are: outside pool, nice off-the main drag location near trees and residences, very friendly front desk staff, 24 hour coffee, clean duvet/bedspread, nice size of bathroom & vanity If I had to stay here again, I would, but I would ask not to be on the fourth floor.
