"Don't Do It"
This is not a 4 star Hotel...trust me. I went on Hotels.com com saw pictures and saw the lobby and thought it would be a great stay as a surprise for my pregnant wife on the way to Florida. It was a surprise, surprises like a fickle 70s era AC system, pop corn ceiling and dusty surfaces, already used soap, and to top things of roaches on the ceiling […] in the morning. Tried to call management twice...he or she must have been busy. While checking out when I mentioned that there were roaches in the room I swear I heard crickets chirping. The hotel rep gave no reaction just a blank stare to us, no promise to fix it, or allow us to talk to a manager, or make us a whole in anyway. "Waverly is NOT 4 star"
The Waverly may be rated 4 stars, but this was not a 4 star experience. The hotel appears to be rather old, which is fine but it wasn't really up to date. The carpet was FILTHY in our room - was supposed to be yellow but had a nice black/brown path through it. The beds were very clean but terribly uncomfortable and we could hear the nightclub music […] in our room on the 4th floor all night. The bathroom was very small and not at all what I would call luxurious - standard Holiday Inn Express hotel room for twice to three times the price. It was good to have close, free parking - we did not use the valet at $15/day b/c free hotel parking was just the other side of the lot. we did have to travel to shop.
