"Excellent stay"
Everything was amazing about my stay at the hyatt. The only thing I had a problem with my stay is that some of the international workers were very rude. So many things were superb! The architecture of the atrium is fascinating, like being in an M.C. Escher drawing. The standard rooms are large with a terrace and a hallway separating bathroom & closet. There is a comfortable armchair & ottoman. Technological touches include two jacks for charging on the bed lamp and a variety of jacks for the TV monitor. […] The lobby has an excellent restaurant, Sway, with a chef-driven menu and attention to local sources. A very full breakfast buffet costs $19. The self-parking half a block away costs $18 in a covered garage or $10 per day in an open lot. I didn't have problems in the lot for two days. You can leave the car with a hotel valet for $32 per night. The hotel connects by a hallway to the Peachtree Center Mall and the MARTA light-rail system. "Good breakfast, bad valet parking system"
This was my second time staying at the Hyatt and I love the hotel. The rooms and beds are comfortable. They have the best breakfast all around. If you can get a complimentary breakfast included in your stay, I highly encourage it. You have the choice of ordering from the menu or doing the buffet. I've always gone for he buffet and it's delicious. There […] is a good variety of items and the items are delicious. My one qualm with this stay was the valet pick up system. Last time we stayed we just retrieved our car from the same entryway that we dropped it off at. This time we were told to go down the elevator to the parking lobby. We encountered a long line when we did go down there. We'd already paid for parking at checkout but still had to wait just to get to the desk to turn in our ticket. Some people were actually paying at the desk which took longer as of course some people had a dispute about their bill. We checked out of the hotel at 12 Noon but didn't end up leaving til after one. "Expected more"
A little run down and in a pretty dingy part of town. Housekeeping came to my room both mornings and knocked while the privacy sign was on the door to ask if I was checking out that day and to try to make up the room--and that was at 8 am! Huh?!? For the cost of the hotel, it was not worth it because of the rude staff in multiple areas. 1) As I pulled into the parking garage, the valet attendant was rude and trying to rush me out of my car. I was wanted verbal confirmation that I would not be charged a separate charge if I removed my car from the garage the same evening to go to dinner. I understood completely and was just wanted confirmation. 2) I went to check-in at 4:15 (check-in is at 4:00), and I was told that they had no double bed rooms. I had reserved two double beds at close to $160 and had my sister and brother-in-law with me, so obviously a king would not work. The offered a roll-a-way bed or I could get on a wait-list to see if something opened up. Two hours later, I received a call asking if there was a reason why I had requested the 10th floor....but, I never did. I had zero preference to which floor we were put on, and it became apparent that that is the excuse the front desk attendant had put next to my name on the wait list, which was not true. I simply wanted double beds. I was extremely frustrated because we waited two hours for an excuse that I never gave. Overall, I rate the hotel a C b/c of the staff. The room was nice but a few maintenance items. Like the sink popup was not right so had to adjust it so the sink would drain. Also they use roomlink or something like that on the T.V. stuff and it keep locking up. We ordered a movie and that locked up half way though. It rebooted 2 times which let us restart the movie but to our dismay it started at […] the beginning. So tryed to fast forward, locked up, repeated process, locked up, and gave up. I worked at a hotel in the late 90's and we could play movies in rooms then so not sure why it is such a challenge now. Then we were suppose to have breakfast included and they tryed to charge us luckly I had the email from here to fix the problem because the woman at the front desk needed proof I was not lying. The shinning light was that the hotel resturant was great. We had a late desert and it was great but the breakfast while expense was a huge treat. I would stay there again but make sure I had my ducks in a row with the room rate and take a ipad or labtop with RCA connections to watch a movie with in the room. "Not up to Hyatt standards"
We stayed in the international tower rooms. They were not up to Hyatt standards at all. The sheets weren't on the bed right, in fact we could see the mattress. There wasn't an exhaust fan in the bathroom, overall the rooms were not great. This was a 1st for my 16 year old in a "larger" hotel and HE was impressed w/the hospitality of the staff, cleanliness of the hotel, amenities, and the overall experience. Only downside was that there were several huge events going on and Valet parking was full on our arrival. When first walking into the Hotel, I was in awe of the lobby, the elevators, and the dining areas. However, after checking into the hotel and getting to our room, I became let down. The room was mediocre, we watched our car sit outside for at least 20 minutes before being moved to the parking garage while other vehicles around it were being promptly […] driven in, and the tv remote in the room also did not operate correctly (or hardly at all). At the end of our stay, we went to retrieve our vehicle and were sorely uninformed of the hourly rate we could have paid while sightseeing AFTER 5:00 p.m. We only learned of the hourly rates after being checked out and waiting for valet nearly 20 minutes before a staff member noticed our disgruntled faces. That staff member was nice enough to refund some of our parking fee. I know that the valet parking is supposed to be a luxury, but I would rather park my own car. It's too much of a hassle. First of all, the address on this site was not the correct one. So, we drove around Atlanta an hour before locating it. We was supposed to check in at 3:30, and it was 5:00 before the room was ready, therefore we could not make our dinner reservations. I would have thought of better quality for a hotel with it being the Hyatt first off the parking was ridiculous a night, I had to park a block away for way less than what we would have paid a night. Then the breakfast was way to pricey for what we got we left the hotel one day for the outing that we came down for we were away for bout 8 hours and didn't […] get no room service no clean towels or anything. For the price me and my husband paid for the room we will never stay at this Hyatt again. I reserved a smoking room on expedia, but when I checked in the clerk told me I was "lying" b/c he didn't see it on his screen. He could have said there was a mistake, but instead chose to be rude.
