Ice machines on the floor, or adjacent floors, the parking rates and conditions were terrible, check out was long and atrocious. "Never again"
No one was at front desk for check in upon arrival...this set the tone for the remainder of the stay. A bellhop walked up several minutes later and he went to get someone to check us in. The food.......well..my salad was floating in water, I ordered it again the next day requesting the greens be drained/spinned.....I guess she had a hearing problem […] because the greens were dripping with water, again. Difficult to control temp in room, so I am now back home and sneezing. Noisy every night (of course the hotel cannot control the behavior of the guests). "Checkout nightmare"
Check out a nightmare. Waited over 30 minutes to get an elevator. Waited another 30 minutes to get my car out of parking garage. "very loud hotel - and could be cleaner."
First room was next to skylounge elevator and they knew this because as soon as i called to say there were loud noises they said it is elevator to top floor bar until 1:30am. they were kind enough to move me but basically the hotel is a circle with 8 elevators in the middle and room on exterior so you are never more than a few feet from the elevators […] and these are some of the loudest lifts i have experienced. each time one whooshes past the floor you can hear it in the room. Also the rooms are "refurnished" and the toilets have the super high velocity flush similar to an airplane - which means you can hear every time a neighboring room (especially above) flushes. Finally, the bathrooms are not cleaned properly. hair etc. Some of it is the city the hotel is in which is not the cleanest to begin with, but there are other better hotels downtown especially for the money. "expensive, loud and dirty"
We inspected our room upon check in and found used hair rollers under the bed and clumps of hair on the bathroom floor. The first night was nice b/c we did not have neighbors. The second night it sounded like people were moving furniture all night and we could hear slamming doors well into the early morning hours. I got to the hotel late that day and their hole system was down. had no parking, except valley had to park in other hotels parking lot at the Hilltones . "ONLY A NICE VIEW"
The view from my room on the 54th floor and the Sundial Restaurant and Lounge was magnificent. However, the room was not up to par. The carpet was greatly stained, the room reeked of bug spray, the pillows were much smaller than the pillowcases, it looked cheap. The towels smelled weird. There was nothing fresh smelling, or fresh feeling in this room. "Room Was NOT Clean! Sink backed up! Uggggg!"
Room was not clean. Half empty water bottle and documents from the previous guest were still in the room. Dirt was in the sink - which I realized later was from the sink being backed up. "Westin Peachtree not worth staying at...."
My wife and I decided to take our children ages 6 and 3 to Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, Centennial Park and sight see Atlanta. We chose the Westin based on its reputation, previous stays at Westin Hotels as well as its central location to the attractions we planned on visiting. Location was walking distance to all attractions […] and plenty of restaurants. Great service from front desk, concierge, and the Sun Dial restaurant. Recommend Sun Dial restaurant (72nd floor with great views of downtown, rotates while you eat, kids loved it. Food was fantastic and waitstaff excellent). However, the cleanliness of our hotel room was poor at best. Bathtub and shower had hair in it from previous guest, toilet leaked at base on tile, my wife found a large ball of hair on the floor by the couch and carpets just seemed dirty. At least the sheets were clean. We didn't complain just cleaned it up and went on enjoying our vacation. Cafe restaurant in hotel almost sparked a family revolt. We wanted to get a quick breakfast and head to the Aquarium right when it opened. 40 min after ordering we finally got our bagel, granola cereal and pancakes for the kids right before we were going to leave considering we were only 1 of 3 tables in the restaurant. Pancakes tasted like burnt waffles and kids wouldn't eat them. We paid our $ 50 bill and went to Starbucks down the street. "Don't expect much."
For the price ($$$) and fanciness of the facility, it did not live up to expectations. Signs in the front lobby boasted "improved and updated" rooms... yet ours had dirty stained carpet, dingy walls, and a TV older than my grandmother's. Even little luxuries, like the towels and toilet paper, were severely lacking in an upscale hotel. Room service was […] outrageously expensive. The in-house restaurant has a dress code (not noted anywhere) and we were rudely rejected by the restaurant host for inquiring about a table. We only booked this hotel because it was close to the Georgia Dome, site of the NCAA Tournament. "The world's worst Westin"
I've stayed at probably around 10 different Westin hotels and this one is by far the worst. Aside from the construction noises that started in my room at around 9am (the hotel is undergoing a renovation, I was on a renovated floor), let me see what else was wrong: 1.) We didn't get the room we reserved - we got 2 full size beds instead of a king. With the thermostat set at 65, it was like a steam room. "Could not believe it"
I used to visit this hotel in the '80's and it was the crown jewel of Atlanta. Now, it is close to becoming a dump. The room smelled really bad, carpet very worn, and the wall paper was rolling up all around the room. Sadly, they have let a top notch hotel go down the drain. "Beat up and worn down"

"Hotel rooms and service standards need remodel!"
The hotel told us they were in the process of a remodel. The GM left a week ago and the hotel manager does not respond to calls or complaints, and his out of office voicemail was a week old. We were on business and did not have time to look for a new hotel, and unfortunately stayed for four days. I was traveling with one other person. Upon entering […] our room we were not impressed with the technology, linens, furniture or carpentry. We had to move on our third day due to the bathroom ceiling leaking and flooding our bathroom. We removed the Duvets to find makeup stains,and water marks on white sheets. The sheets were ripped and had holes and tears in them, also on e of the the bed skirts had yellow glue splattered across the bottom. The TV's are 27" tube televisions out of the 80's. Of the two rooms we experienced, the two phones did not work in either room, so we had to take the elevato rto the lobby to file a complaint. The internet cord hanging out of the wall is rather unsitely. The electrical boxes look like something out of a hostel in Europe. Wires are hanging and visible on all appliances. The desk chair wheel fell off in the first room. the carpet replacement fixes were done lousy. Hotel needs a remodel! On a good note, the beds are very comfortable and the showers are hot and have good water pressure. Robert took care of engineering issues promptly upon find out there was an issue. This starwood property is in dire need of a update. The view from my 51st floor room was amazing, gorgeous sunset. The bathroom was tiny, the granite counter was cracked, and the undercount sink was halfway unattached to the counter. It still had a tube television, with no media hookups. "Does not deserve Westin name"
Ill be brief. When I arrived I was in line for parking for maybe 30 minutes..... As they were unloading my thing and I was getting ready to check in the guy asked could I go park in the lot next door because both self parking and valet were full. He assured me, because I definitely wanted to be clear, that it was only full from overnight guest parking […] and not because of the festival going on. So I had to drive around to the public parking lot across the street and I was not happy about that. So I finally check in, get to my room and it's a huge disappointment. It was dirty, the phone didn't work, it stunk and it felt humid. So I, along with other unhappy hotel guest, asked for a different room. That was no issue. The room had a better view and was cleaner but I couldn't believe how small the room was. They tried to stuff all these rooms into this hotel but they compromised on comfort. The bathroom was entirely to small. My Weston room in st Louis was more tajn twice as big not to mention it had a true heavenly bath and shower and bed. The furniture was banged up at the one I just stayed in and the tv needed an upgrade. So then I was waiting on my luggage for about 45 minutes but I understand cause they were booked up. The guy lied about the parking because an hour later the self parking and valet had spaces. More stuff I could definitely complain about but the lounge was really nice and the view was awesome... "Awful Stay!"
I had the worst hotel experience I have ever had as a travel here. I called for two sodas to be brought up to the room, it took 2.5 hours! Everytime I called they would hang up on me. Housekeeping opened the door at 8:30 am without even knocking, and then never returned. When I called for them to come back, it took three hours! I paid for overnight […] valet, and I needed to get something out of the car, and was told I wasnt allowed to do so. They tried to force me to pay another valet fee just to get something out of the vehicle. When I refused they RUMMAGED through my car and didnt even bring out the right item. Valet also left the windows to my car open and my Ipod was stolen while the car was in the garage. Spoke to management and they didnt believe a word I said. Nor did they offer to help, they just kept saying they would investigate. I will never stay at a Westin again. I urge you not to stay at this one either.
