A dismal welcome with a surcharge to have a sea view room. What other purpose would you go to this place for? Presented my Radisson card for points ot be added but this was dismissed because I had bought the room through a "third party"! Really happy about this choice in hotel. Loved the overlook of the ocean outside the balcony. Two things that could have been better: 1. they need new shower heads the water comes out poorly and its hard to get the sand off your bottom half. 2. "3 day 2 night trip with family"
Before I booked the hotel, I called to see if all the renovations were complete. I was told yes. When I arrived, the first thing I noticed was the outdoor umbrellas were missing the thatch (as if a storm had been through). Not very tropical, but not that big of a deal. The umbrellas on the beach were the same way but worse. However, I don't think the […] hotel owned the ones on the beach. Check-in was not a problem. When I arrived at my room, the first thing I noticed was the hole in the wall that someone had tried to repair (where the door knob hits the wall). Then there was this water stain that ran down the wall. A garden could have been planted on the smoke alarm. The air conditioner only semi-cooled when the window drapes were drawn and lights were out. The bathroom sink had an under mount sink that had mold around it. There was no ventilation at all in the bathroom. I was told all the beds had been changed to a pillow top. Mine was hard, no pillow top there! The pool bar was not open during the week. However, the view from the balcony was great (minus the moldy, plastic chairs with no table for drinks) and the location was ideal for the attractions my family and I were going to see. Due to the constant wind it is hard to keep the palm fronds in place on the pergolas, and we have plans to make changes in the entry area as well. The beds are Simmons Ultra Plush sets that were new this spring when we renovated and we have had many good comments, but we know beds are an individual preference. The pool bar is open daily from 1:00PM to 8:00PM and am not sure why it was not available to you but I will look into it. The hotel had bad smell. The hotel restaurant food was terrible. Didn't think a chef could mess up breakfast but they did. Food was undercook and bad taste. Buffet food was even worse. We got better and cheaper food at Whatburger down the street. The pool was too small for the amount of guest and the people they had taking care of the bar area was even […] worse that the restaurant people. The couldn't mix a drink to save their lives. One bar guys sat their playing games on his phone while people were asking for service. I was one of the people asking for service as well. Never did get that drink. The location of this hotel is hard to beat. It's right on the beach, which was even more important after my daughter was stung by a jellyfish. They were quick to provide an ointment for the sting at no charge. The breakfast buffet was pretty nondescript, and the wait staff was pretty slow in bringing meals. Overall we were quite happy with the hotel. It was very clean..nice room. Love that is was right on the each and walking distance to most of the things we wanted to see. Our last night, my grandson got sick in one of the beds. We called housekeeping and they were there within 7 minutes. They cleaned the bed, gave me extra plastic beds for his night […] clothes and were very sympathetic with him. They won major points in my book. The only down side for us was the cost of the breakfast buffet. $10 for adults and $8 for kids is a little steep for the basic breakfast foods. Parking can be a challenge. We got two rooms for the five of us. The one on the corner is a family room which is very roomy, so we could have possibly all fit in just one room. Both rooms have balconies with fantastic views, well worth the top dollar you pay. And it's so convenient to dip in the water and then walk right back to your room to have a nice shower. We paid about $10 a person for some very limited selection, and a glass of juice is extra $3. Eventhough the lobby was under renovation, the hotel was wonderful. The staff was so cheerful and friendly, from the front desk to the maids. Hotel was being renovated so this was somewhat of an inconvenience. However, once the renovations are complete it should be fine. Our room was very clean. Our main complaint is with the Hotel Restaurant. We weren't greeted when we walked in. And barely greeted when we had to wave someone down to bring us a menu. "Best Hotel In Corpus Christi"
I have stayed in numerous hotels at corpus christi ( I live in san antonio). All I can say about the Radisson is WHY DID I NOT KNOW YOU EXISTED BEFORE? It could have saved me a lot of headaches with the other hotels. I have stayed at the "Omni" "Bayfront Inn" "Quality Inn" "Holiday Inn" and "Embassy Suites" and none come close to the Radssion on the […] Beach. It is a great location the lexington is in your backyard literally. You can walk to the Texas State Aquarium and arrive there in 5 minutes. They have a private beach that well maintained I did not see any trash what so ever. Management goes out of their way to keep this place clean trust me I saw it first hand. A spring breaker threw a coke bottle at the trashcan but missed, knowing that she missed she stil didn't pick it up. I saw a manager look at us and then shook his head and picked it up himself. It was a great stay. I only have TWO complains. First do not get a room that has twin beds there is not enough room to do anything but sleep and maybe sit at a corner. I'm sure the King size rooms don't have this problem. My second complaint is that they are working on renovations they have a sign that says "sorry for the inconvinence but are are working on rennovations for your future stay". We stayed overnight for a family vacation. The hotel was as clean as it could be for a hotel directly on the beach. The pool was very nice and welcomed after being on the beach and seeing someone get stung by a jellyfish! It included a pool side bar and a hot tub. The room was clean but in need of some minor repair. An electrical plug by the sink needed […] to be changed out...the plug would barely stay in the socket. The bath faucet had a plastic piece that kept falling off. The front desk was very helpful. We arrived earlier than the check in. They were kind enough to take down my cell number and call me when the room was ready, which was about 2 hours before our scheduled check in. One problem I did have is that a hotels.com rep called the hotel for me and requested a second floor room, which she said was taken care of. When I arrived, the front desk clerk told me that 2nd floor was not available. We ended up having to stay on the fourth floor instead. Overall, a nice hotel for the price.
