The Royce - The hotel’s former dining room reopened in November 2010 as The Royce, named after long time Huntington Hotel owner and general manager, Stephen W. Royce. The Royce features New American cuisine by Chef David Féau comprised of lighter California fare prepared with classic influences and refined French technique, emphasizing fresh, locally-grown, seasonal produce and the best quality sustainable products from around the world. The Royce is open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday.
The Terrace - The Terrace serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. The upscale California comfort food menu, created by Chef Erik Schuster, offers a variety of choices that will delight both the discerning and casual diner. The outdoor patio offers guests alfresco dining with a view of the Picture Bridge and pool, and provides the perfect setting for a business lunch or relaxing dinner.
The Lobby Lounge - Once the hotel’s main entryway, this ornate but relaxed lounge has floor-to-ceiling windows offering panoramic views of the Horseshoe Garden. Traditional Afternoon Tea is served in The Lobby Lounge Thursday–Saturday from 1 PM to 4 PM. Chocolate Afternoon Tea is served Sundays from 12 noon to 3 PM.
The Tap Room - The hotel’s former bar is now The Tap Room, named after the hotel’s first bar dating back to the 1930s shortly following Prohibition. Recreation
Relax by the heated pool in a luxurious lounge chair or under a private cabana, while indulging in food and drink from The Hideaway pool bar and enjoying views of the legendary Picture Bridge. A heated whirlpool is located just under the picture bridge overlooking the Japanese gardens. Three lighted tennis courts may be reserved for a fee; racquets and balls are available, and private or small-group lessons can be arranged (surcharges apply). The Fitness Center is located in The Huntington Spa and features a variety of state-of-the-art TechnoGym equipment, weights and a fitness studio. Personalized fitness sessions and a variety of fitness classes including yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi and kick boxing are offered in the fitness studio. The Fitness Center is open Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 9 PM, Saturday and Sunday from 6 AM to 8 PM. I had read a few reviews that weren't so positive before we came and I was happy to find that we had no adverse experiences. The room was quiet, comfortable (luxurious), clean, and updated. It had a old smell, but the smell was clean and rich, kind of like old leather, not musty. The TV was a flat screen (unlike complaints I had read about). The marble […] bathroom was fantastic. The standard tub was slightly oversized and extra long. The grounds are spectacular and the pool is also fabulous. While they do charge plenty for the valet parking, the service is quick and attentive. We even used the workout gym to make up for that margarita we had by the pool. The property is very interesting due to its historic nature and the ties to early Pasadena. It is conveniently located for visiting the Huntington Gardens and Mansion and also for getting into downtown LA. It was difficult to get rooms together for our family of 8. "Great Hotel -- But Watch Out for the Bar Noise!"
I'm not your typical reviewer of hotels/restaurants. I know where the delete button is when I receive the requests to review. However, I want to make sure I qaulify the objective answers regarding this property. My wife and I typically will spend our Christmas Holiday in SoCal (we're from the Bay Area). For the past several years, we've visted family/friends […] in the Pasadena area on Christams/the day after and we usually stay at Hilton properties. A number of years ago I'd stayed at the Langham and liked the experience so I decided to change it up a bit this year and booked at the Langham. We'd spent the previous two days down in San Diego and drove up Christmas night to Pasadena. Traffic was rough for a Christmas Day (evening), so I was really looking forward to lazying around the hotel room, maybe walking the property--just hanging out in general. My wife passed out (exhaustion--not alcohol!) around 9:00 pm and I laid in bed finishing up the Warrior's/Clipper's game, turning out the light at around 10:30 pm. It was then that I noticed a constant buzz coming from the bar located at the base of the opposite wing of the hotel. I kind of chuckled, thinking that things would quite down. Well, they didn't. I think it was 1:30 am when things started to quiet down. I would have called down to the front desk, but: (A) the noise was so obvious, I wouldn't be the first (so I knew they already knew it was a problem); and (B) I didn't want to disturb my wife. So, I laid there in bed and stewed about the extra $50/night I was paying vs. the Hilton where I'd received so many better nights' sleep!!! I can only guess there were guests with way more "juice" than us commoners (maybe Brad and Angelina--who knows?) that the hotel was willing to accomodate with late night revelry (this wasn't just a dull roar--which it was--but it was punctuated with "Hey Bobs" or "Merry Christmases" every once in a while. We had an excellent stay at Langham. A few minor suggestions. The cream ran out in the morning and were not replenished and hotel guests seem annoyed by that leaving all the coffee on the counter. Similarly, the empty cups at the poolside were not replenished as well. Besides these minor instances, we were very pleased with the decos, service. Only complaint is the valet parking. It took them three tries to get everything out of the car. I prefer to park the car myself, due to my allergies. If the attendant has a dog or cat at home, it can make me allergic to the car. I would pay the same price for non-valet parking privileges. The Langham Pasadena, once the Hunington Hotel, Not over the top luxury, just posh comfort. Room was both clean and comfortable; the bath bathed in marble but not excessive or tacky. Hotel staff were all attentive and responsive. Valet crew helped with travel times and directions. Hotel food was well worth eating. Dinner was inventive, well presented, […] and very tasty. All in all, seemless stay. My only complain is the valet charge and the room internet charge which were add-on's. Valet service is mandatory, who doesn't need an internet connection these days. Meanwhile, we feel disappointed with room cleaning service. First day when we checked in, we found the duvet cover has two dirty spots that kinds like bloody marks which was disgusting. We ended up getting a room at the Langham after another hotel in LA that we booked was very disappointing. Hotels always look nicer in the pictures than when you get there, right? Well, not at the Langham. This place is gorgeous, a real gem and a very good value. The service people were all tremendous. Vil man ofre lidt ekstra er dette hotel absolut anbefalelsesværdigt, også for børnefamilier (+10 år). Bemærk, at parkering koster USD 25,-/døgn + tips (valet parking only). Valde ut hotellet baserat på höga ratings och det blev ingen besvikelse. Att svänga upp till entren kändes som en film. Och tack och lov till ett helt OK pris. Vi hade ett rum med två queen size sängar och det fungerade utmärkt till två vuxna och två ungdomar.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Ett fantastiskt hotell i ett fantastiskt område. Behov av bil, långa avstånd som överallt i LA-området. Finns bara "Valet-parking" , hade föredragit självparkering. Oerhört bra service och en hotellanläggning som är en upplevelse i sig. Har varit i LA många gånger, men aldrig tidigare i Pasadena, mycket positivt.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
