"Beautiful Historic Hotel"
Beautiful facility. Everything was great except it's time for pillow-top mattresses. Beds not very comfortable for what should be a 5 star hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Amazing! Free spa use!"
Love this hotel. I stay here everytime I am in the Los Angeles area. If you are a guest at the hotel you get to use the showers, hot tubs, and sauna at the Huntington Spa!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Beautiful old time hotel with luxries aplenty. Restaurants have delicious food - perfect to sit outside by the garden and have brunch. Pool and hot tub are open early and stay open late. Wonderful service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

this has always been one of my favorite to stay and it simply feel like home. the lighting in the room maybe a little insufficient and the wifi is slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Special event hotel"
It is a grand old hotel. The Royce is completely redone and is under a new chef. However, my room needed referfurbishing. The matress was old and the furnature and drapes were worn.Genuine Expedia guest review
This is the second time we've stayed there for our anniversary. However, our first stay a few years back was definitely a much more memorable stay than this latest one. Our first stay we had a much nicer room, larger, better view, and with a private patio. We were so impressed we decided to go back again, hoping we can get the same, or similar room […] again. This time our room was much smaller, with still a very nice view, but no private patio. I guess not every room is equal. I would go back if we can get same type of room again. "can be better"
My family have stayed at Langham several times before. The hotel and surroundings are always pleasant. However, I found the housekeeping didn't do the job properly which is not acceptable in this type of hotel. The front desk and bell captain are top quality.Genuine Expedia guest review

"beautiful hotel. terrible service"
the hotel was beautiful. Service at the pool bar, front desk and restaurant we not on the same level. Friendly enough but slow and totally inefficient. We waited an hour for a beer and a lemonade by the pool. The waitress kept chuckling that she forgot each time she walked by. a little pathetic no?Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel staff very helpful and courteous. Room furniture and carpets need to be replaced, looking a bit old and overused. Overall a very nice hotel and experienceGenuine Expedia guest review
"perfect for visiting Huntington Museum & Gardens"
Gorgeous hotel, but be prepared to spend some serious cash. Couldn't they at least put a coffee maker in the room? To order a cup from room service would cost an easy $10 and it wouldn't cost much less at their in house restaurants. And it's too far to walk to a local Starbucks...at least not before having that first cup!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A fun couples getaway"
We really enjoyed our stay. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were hard and very uncomfortable. The service was excellent, the food and drinks were great. The grounds were maintained beautifully but noticed some disrepair in the outdoor wood maintenance. Enjoyed exploring the history of the various rooms.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Wonderful retreat"
The hotel is a wonderful retreat. There is some updating to be done in the bathrooms ... but I hope they keep the historic components (e.g., the wonderful marble in baths ... just need to scrub rust stains out of them and put in new faucets) as they upgrade. Funny that the balcony furniture and pool furniture wasn't newer ... not that it was horrible […] .. but that's a simple upgrade. Food very good. Grounds lovely. No complaints at all and I would willingly and eagerly stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful property, service OK"
Fabulous hotel, grounds, spa and pool. I am giving only a 4 because almost everyone at a counter or answering a phone needs to be trained to graciously meet the needs of people who stay at a hotel of this quality. They were ok, just not what one expects from a place like this. Example, called for a facial and there was a lot of confusion at the spa […] desk about what was available -- they kept asking me to call back later. Eventually they agreed to call me if the therapist would be available a little early to do a longer treatment. Later I got a message saying that they could not come in earlier so it would be the original time. This was fine except I learned during the treatment that the therapist had agreed to come in early and had been waiting for me but this was not communicated to me. Great facial but the experience was marred by the scheduling snafu. Breakfast arrived cold one morning, etc. As long as I am not expecting first class service this will be a great hotel, but it falls a bit short. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Elegant and lovely but in need of improvements"
This is actually a great and luxury hotel, the ambiance and atmosphere is pleasant, the place is very clean at some point, after a long day it feels good to be back, it kind of have like a home feeling. It has a nice pool and a wonderful Jacuzzi, however the day we went there weren't any clean nor dry towels as they stated in their hotel welcome book. […] Since this is an expensive place, one of my mayor disappointment was the cleanness of their carpet by the door entrance of the room, I understand it is the traffic area, but at least they should clean it a bit more deeply because it was disgusting, it looks dark and dirty, well at least that was our room. And also as soon as you walked into the room it has an old and weird smell. It needs to update the mattress too, their top mattress just move around and it is very uncomfortable to sleep in. "Relax24"
Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Service at pool restaurant very slow. Good to get out and walk around in Old Town Pasedena.Genuine Expedia guest review
The property is very interesting due to its historic nature and the ties to early Pasadena. It is conveniently located for visiting the Huntington Gardens and Mansion and also for getting into downtown LA. It was difficult to get rooms together for our family of 8. As we were scattered throughout such a large property, we needed to plan when and where […] to meet. Finally, while this was a luxury hotel, the carpet is worn and stained in some places and the AC system seemed less efficient on this past hot spring weekend than I would have wished. "Bargain for an Historic Hotel from a Bygone Era"
This historic hotel has lovely grounds and is very well maintained. The food in the restaurants is truly exceptional. However, wireless is not available, which is absurd for a 5-star hotel, and the rooms do not include self-catering coffee service which was acceptable in high-end hotels in former times but is unrealistic for today. The location is wonderful […] for those who have a car or those who wish to remain on the premises; otherwise, it is remote from shopping or entertainment activities. Spa access is included among guest amenities; it could use better management. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great stay"
The hotel grounds and surrounding area are really beautiful. Friendly valet staff. Large rooms. They were filming a sitcom at the hotel during our stay. Had to travel around the filming areas. My daughter and her friend had some fruit off of the breakfast buffet and they were charged $30+. They didn't realize that they would be charged the buffet price. […] They thought they would only be charged for the fruit. This is my only complaint. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor sound insulation in the rooms"
I was given room 522, which turned out to be close to an elevator. Was woken up at 3 am because of the noise coming from the elevator shaft which was terrible, like having a laundry room next door. A group was checking out it seems so the elevator kept going up and down. There is no way anyone could have slept in that room and be waken up, and i am […] sure management knows it yet they still make you pay for that room. I am a very frequent international traveller and never had this in a 5 star hotel before anywhere in the world. Reception's response was a simple "we're soooorry". Sound insulation is seriously terrible in the rooms. On the positive, beautiful place, courteous personnel and great facilities. Just do not ever stay in rooms ending with 22!!!! "Not quite worth the money"
The Langham is in a gorgeous location. You can tell it's an older hotel property and it's doing the best it can to keep up with the times. The positives: - great toiletries in the bathroom - beautiful grounds - overall the service was fantastic (aside from our waiter in the poolside restaurant at dinner and we're pretty sure it was his first night […] on the job. That created some hiccups but he tried to be as nice as accommodating as possible.) Some negatives: - Thin walls! We were awoken at 1am from the sounds of, um, our neighbors in the next room getting it on. Loudly. I almost called security just to ask them to keep it down. When paying that much per night, thin walls are a hard thing to overlook. - The bed was nothing special in terms of comfort. - The furnishings in the room could use an update. - We had a lightbulb that had burned out in our standing lamp. I called the front desk to request another and they said they would send someone. It never arrived. - Our dinner at the restaurant next to the pool was way overpriced given the quality of the food. I'd never eat there again. Overall, I'd say I was disappointed in terms of value for the money. I like what the Langham is "trying" to be in terms of a luxury property. But it's just not quite there. "The grand worn lady"
A grand lady of a hotel, a tiny bit worn around the edges. Here and there, tattered wallpaper, a rusted plumbing collar in the bathroom, a beat, broken toilet roll holder. It's the little things that a great hotel does without pause. This hotel still charges five star prices, but needs a remodel. Still, I would definitely recommend it. It has a lot […] of grace and charm, and was very comfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Gorgeous but with a few wrinkles"
I hate going to a five star hotel and having to pay for things that lesser hotels offer for free. Although this hotel is beautiful and quite comfortable, coffee was a long walk away in the morning and Internet service was expensive. Also, on a Saturday at 4:30pm, they lost my daughter's car keys at the valet. I feet the response from the staff was less […] than stellar. They agreed two days later to pay for a new set of keys to her car. I would recommend this hotel only to people with deep pockets and who don't mind being "nickle and dimed". "Hotel With A Legacy . . ."
The Langham is beautiful. End of story. The Building, the grounds, the rooms, the furnishings - hell, the room keys. The staff is flatteringly friendly and helpful with most issues that arise. The facility contains everything you should need for a pleasant stay. Room service was quick, friendly, and delicious. As we stayed in the Wisteria Cottage, I […] was slightly concerned about the hot water/ water pressue, but it was great, including the Quercus toilettries. The only slightly negative aspect to our trip was our stop at The Tap Room, the onsite bar. We went in for a few drinks, and appetizers. The drinks were fine (if a litltle expensive - I mean , nearly 20 bucks for a Manhattan), but the service was at first disdainful and cold, then when they saw we had money to spend, ever-present without really smiling. Next time we will patronize an off-site bar and enjoy the Langham for what it is. A beautiful hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Langham Hotel,Pasadena,ca"
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The front desk upgraded us to a cottage since our room was not ready. However, as great as that was we had a couple of issues with the room. I took a shower and could not get any hot water. Also the shower door was stuck on the shower frame and it came off its hinges. The grounds and hotel itself are great. "Less than expected"
The hotel is a very nice property, but on this visit the service was sub par. The pool was closed to regular guests for several days, which was a disappointment. "Parting........."
We were greeted by a slew of people eager to assist us upon check in. EVERYONE was amazing. The hotel is beautiful. The courtyard serene with water and baby ducklings! My 2 year old son LOVED it. Upon checking in were explained we might need to stay another night but would not know until the next day. The delightful receptionist said that would not […] be a problem that we could book through hotels.com or directly with them just to let them know in the morning. We did need to stay another night. We went by the front desk and a DIFFERENT woman was there who said we could not keep our room we would have to upgrade (quite a bit I might add) and move to a different location. She was not helpful in the least. We went back to our room, got our belongings and stayed the night @ the Sheraton. Funny how everything could be going so nicely and ONE PERSON could leave you with such a bad taste for the hotel. I would think twice before rebooking their again. "where's the coffee?"
Why were the coffee pots located outside, at the parking lots, near the valets? and only until 9am? No coffee in the room. Add $25 a day to the bill - it's necessary to have a car in Pasadena, and there's no where else to park it, so you'll be paying for valet service. The spa and gym are lovely.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We were displeased that there was nowhere at the hotel where we could get a simple cup of coffee and a bagel or a muffin, just an expensive restaurant with gourmet choices. The spa amenities were very nice. The grounds are beautiful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Langham Review"
Overall a very swanky old school fancy hotel with attention to detail. I don't like that they charged for wireless internet, even Starbucks gives that away. And drinks like sodas and and waters and juices should also be free. They need to replace the carpet, it was in terrible shape and really bothered me. And for goodness sakes, please get better coffee. […] Look at the Palomar for this, they got it right. I enjoyed the Langham and will stay again but they need to stop trying to squeeze every dollar by charging for every little thing they can and if they address my list above, I will be a regular patron.
