"Nice place to stay"

Overall, the stay was pleasant and the staff was professional. Good mattresses are a priority for me due to physical requirements, and the beds are very comfortable. However, not allowing "in and out" privileges for self parking is absolutely ridiculous! I was completely surprised at how awful the rooms were at the hotel. When I first checked into the hotel, I was asked if I wanted to upgrade my room for $25.00, I agreed. The room I was sent to on the 6th floor smelled so badly, I had to go back down to the lobby and ask for another room. The second room was a patio room that was supposed to be an even […] higher upgrade ($50.00), but, the A/C did not work, the phone did not work, there was no room service menu, the pay per movie overcharged me twice and room service knocked on my door not once, not twice but three times the next morning starting at 9:00am. On top of all of that, the Wi-fi I was promised for free was not free. The valet service was another problem. I asked that I be dropped off at a business on Colorado Blvd., when I called to be picked up, I was put on hold for 5 minutes, was told that I could not be picked up where I wanted but, I needed to walk 4 blocks to be picked up and when I asked for it to be 20 minutes from when I called, the hotel employee said yes, sure but, when I got to the pick-up, the driver had already come and gone. I waited for more than 1/2 hour to be picked up. I have never in all my travels had such all around bad service at a Westin hotel and will not return even though my business needs will bring me to Pasadena again in the near future. "Car smashed by valet in parking lot"
The Westin Pasadena is comfortable and clean, but the side of our van was smashed by the valet parking and we were surprised that the hotel took no responsibility. They said the valet was separate, yet it is in the hotel? Hopefully, the valet company will take care of the damage, but we would not feel safe parking our car/van here again, especially […] since the hotel did not seem to care that this happened during our stay there, and we were only there for one night! I was also surprised that they charged for wifi since I've never stayed at a hotel that charges for wifi. I didn't need to use it, but my phone asked me to log in which was fairly easy, so I just assumed that I might as well use the hotel wifi instead of using my data plan. I didn't read the small print which is very small on a cell phone. When I complained the front desk staff just smiled and said there was nothing she could do, and this was after they know about our van being smashed in the parking lot. I trust that you have been in contact with our parking company or their insurance and that your van is being tended to. I would also have hoped that my staff would have been more empathetic about the wifi charges. I know that when someone clicks on "i agree/I accept" that the charges have been noted, but on a smart phone, the terms and condition can be quite small. I do hope that we have another opportunity of winning your trust and having you stay with us again when you are in Pasadena.

"Not worth the price"
A lot smaller than the Hilton in San Gabriel and the price is 1.5 times of the Hilton in Pasadena. I was surprised at how small the room is when I walk in the door, and the furnitures and everything is clean but just so so, really not worth it's price and reputation. Valet parking cost $14 a day and you have to call them everytime you need to pick […] up your car, which is really not convenient. If you do self-parking, they charge am even higher hourly rate... No free wifi or Internet, it costs $11.95 per day... Even at the business center, they only offer free Internet for the first 5minutes.... This really sucks since all other hotels I stayed offer free wifi.... I regreted right after I checked in.. For this price, I could have stayed somewhere bigger, better and with better service.... The only best part might be the location. It's only walking distance to Old Town Pasadena, very convenient for shopping, movie, or any restaurants and cafes. "Nice 4 Star Hotel.."
Nice hotel.. I don't live too far from this location. But, I as many out there need to meet deadlines and the peace and quiet is essential. So, my options are many in the area and I have stayed at several of the other hotels in the area. The Westin is a beautiful elegant hotel. The service is amazing! Front desk (Timesha) went above and beyond, the […] concierge, valet, housekeeping were all superb. Location is good on the south side of hotel.. on the AM/PM Gas side can be belwo par in the evenings. South side, beautiful gardens, City Hall, Califronia Pizza Kitchen, McCormick & Scmicks, and a small walk to Yard House and Ruth Chris' Steak House. Gardens on the south side are impeccable.. Two wedding took place the weekend I was there. The gym is immaculate and well kept, I used it often. The only comment I would make is that the furniture (modern & comfortable) showed signs of age. Evidently & obviously previous people that had stayed in the room stained a chair, couch or walls that weren't either cleaned or replaced. It somewhat placed me in a wondering mode, like eww, if you know what I mean. I'm pretty much a clean freak though. Not sure hotels have time to "scrub walls" with pinesol in between people's stays.
