The Rio Grande and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains shape Taos’ rugged environment. Both geographic features are main tourist attractions. In the summer, rafters take to the river; in the winter, skiers flock to nearby ski resorts. North of town, the Taos Pueblo is a National Historic Landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Most of its adobe structures were built between 1000 and 1450.see all hotels in Taos
"Nice place to stay"
The Inn is in a very quiet location but still only a short ride to the major attractions and facilities. Spacious rooms. The owner is both helpful and friendly. She cooks an excellent breakfast. I would certainly stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"What you think of when you think of Taos NM"
We really enjoyed our stay at Taos Country Inn. The Bed and Breakfast facility was first class - everything from the quality of the facility to the excellent food to the ingratiating attitude of the owner. We would highly recommend a stay at this excellent Inn to anyone thinking about a visit to Taos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Owner but Caveat Emptor"
The owner was nice, but I didn't know until arrival that it was a B&B. More importantly: (1) there was no air conditioning, and it was too hot to nap in the afternoon even with all the windows open; it didn't really cool off until about 10:00 PM. (2) There was no ice. I had to go into town to buy ice for the cocktail hour after the only full day I had […] in Taos. (3) There was no computer, so I was limited to my iPhone. And (4) the in-room TV was so tiny that you couldn't see the score of the game you're watching. Other than that it was OK. But expensive, compared with a regular motel that doesn't have any of these "issues." Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Yolanda was wonderful. She makes you feel very welcome in her home. The home is situated in trees at the end of a long driveway. It is very secluded and comfortable. It is close to all the sights in Taos but allows you to relax and enjoy the country.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Bed and Breakfast"
Went to Taos for a weekend get away to relax. The Taos Country Inn was a great place to relax. It was not on the main drag going through Taos and was quiet and peaceful. The owner was a great host and she made great breakfasts.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A definite gem!"
This is an excellent place to stay for some much needed R&R. It also works great as a hub to explore the surrounding area. Yolanda opened her home and we felt so welcomed. Her breakfasts were delicious and a great way to start the day. Her cheerful disposition and charm were a pleasure. We look forward to returning the next time we're in Taos.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Convivial, convenient, comfortable, classy!"
Owner (Yolanda), a beautiful thoughtful person, great cook, generous with her time and help with local information. By the time we left, she was a dear friend. Her B&B is in a gorgeous setting, tastefully decorated, comfortable, & well kept. It's not just a "stay" but a personal experience to keep in your memory.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Owner is a delight"
The Taos Country Inn is aptly named as it is very much in the country even though it is less than 5 minutes from the center of Taos. The Inn is clean and comfortable but getting there is a little confusing and complicated. The surrounding properties are variable with some of them looking a little uncared for. The best part of our stay was the owner […] Yolanda, who is a very caring and gracious host. She is very helpful about showing you what to do in the area and makes awesome pancakes for breakfast. We had a great time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a wonderfully run B&B that is in the country and you are surrounded by birds, flowers and great scenery. I'd advise a great place for couples or if you are traveling alone. The breakfasts are fresh and she includes something hot each morning. Coffee is excellent too! Great "base camp" for proximity to plaza and all of the scenic destination […] s. "Very Nice Stay, Great host."
Very nice place 5 min. from downtown Taos. Yolanda-host and owner-was very attentive and gave us helpful hints on where to eat and about traffic in Taos. The room was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing; it kept us going through the afternoon. If you are looking for a quiet place outside but close to downtown Taos I highly reccomend this […] inn. "Taos Country Inn: Special in SO Many Ways!"
If you like to be warm in the mountains of Taos, New Mexico, our room was toasty and comfortable, AND clean; this B&B is well off the beaten track and if you're looking to leave a hectic city or suburban lifestyle behind, this is the place! Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of our stay is Yolanda, who is the owner of the Taos Country Inn. She was […] as kind and welcoming as family. She knows the area well and has a map available with restaurants and shopping nearby, as well as directions to Chimayo. Yolanda's breakfast spread is lovely, with several different selections to choose from—how nice to have the cook serve and chat with you--made from scratch: delicious! We so enjoyed our visit in every way, and hated to leave. Many others feel the same: read the comments in her guest book. Remember, too, if you are not used to staying in a Bed and Breakfast, this is Yolanda's home that she opens to guests. The dining and living areas that are accessible to her guests are cozy and comfy. We were delighted to have had the chance to meet Yolanda, and greatly enjoyed her warm hospitality. "Taos Country Inn"
Our stay was very relaxing and really what we needed. Yolanda told us of all the places and restaurants around. She prepared a lovely breakfast every morning, which started with fresh fruit and a different hot meal every morning, banana pancakes, french toast, waffles. Each morning was a welcomed surprise. We like that the place was not huge and the […] number of rooms kept the traffic and people to a minimum. It was remote, yet close enough to get into down town Taos without much effort. A very well kept, nice relaxing week. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Heaven On Earth"
If your travel plan take you to Taos, The Taos Country Inn is a must. The Innkeeper, Yolanda, is a warm, vivacious woman who you will come to love. She makes the most delicious breakfasts and will tell you all the best places to go for day trips and for dinner. She was raised in Taos, so she knows all the local hot spots. She is a wonderful woman. A […] few days after checkout, I realized I left a textbook in my room. I called her, she looked for it while on the phone with me, and then promptly mailed it free of charge. The Inn itself is beautiful and relaxing with southwestern decor. There is a spacious living room to relax and read in with a fireplace and amazing views. The view outside our bedroom was breathtaking. I walked outside every morning with my fresh cup of coffee and all I saw were mountains and horses. It was a gorgeous view...so peaceful. Our bedroom was very large, decorated beautifully and very comfortable. We slept really well. I can't recommend this Inn highly enough. It was one of the best vacations I have ever taken. Thank you Yolanda! We will be back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Charming spot in Taos"
The Taos Country Inn is a terrific small bed-and breakfast spot. The owner and operator, Yolanda, has lived in Taos all her life and can offer great advice on any matter of interest to a touring couple. She knows restaurants, museums, hikes, tour routes and more. Her service is most friendly, her house beautifully decorated with New Mexico pottery, […] paintings and other artifacts, and her breakfasts met every need from fat-free tofull eggs plus. And the hummingbirds at feeders near her entry provided constant entertainment. We would return there in a minute. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place; wrong room"
The hostess is a dear and the place overall has a pleasant atmosphere. We probably chose, without knowing, one of the less attractive rooms (Alejandro) -- most of the place has nice southwest tile floors and our room had somewhat worn carpet over an extremely squeeky floor. Still, the main sitting areas were pleasant. The quality of the internet connection […] was terrible. The breakfast was great. Yolanda's restaurant recommendations worked out very well. "Taos Country Inn"
Didn't realize this was a B & B. Was a wonderful place to stay. Only bad thing is no a/c and we were there when it was unusually hot for Taos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hostess was awesome and went the extra mile to make us feel very welcome.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was above average, but out of town which might concern people who would like to have greater access. However, Yolinda, the proprietor, was outstanding and went over board. If were back in Taos, I would go back to her place simply because of her care, charm, and people skills. Breakfast was outstanding!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet stay in peaceful rural setting"
very good place to stay. Yolanbda is wonderful, beautiful but not fancy grounds and hacienda. Good big rooms with lots of space. Great breakfast. Will stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Taos COUNTRY Inn"
Taos Country Inn is located FAR outside the little town of Taos - or so it seemed to us when we went looking for it. It is actually a bed and breakfast located in an expanded pueblo-style home. The location is accessed past some pretty uninviting scenery on the way (trash-choaked homesites and not so well marked road signs.) The B&B itself is nicely […] sited across a small stream and in some pleasant country. It was staffed by a charming lady (manager?) substituting for the owner - who was away on a well-deserved vacation, we were told. However, don't expect to check in early as the lady was not accessible to answer the locked door when we arrived before the nominal check-in time. It was a long trek into town for dinner and drinks and a long trek back out to the B&B. Our room was comfortable, although we were initially put in a queen room when we had reserved a king bed. My wife also inadvertantly locked us out of our room when we went to breakfast and it took some time to open the locked door as there was no key. All in all we felt the situation was not as advertised considering what we paid for the stay. Although if you want country and quiet it may be your cup of tea. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
