Big room, great staff, loved the complimentary breakfast. The only down side to it, is the freeway you can hear all night. "Favorite Place to Stay in Carlsbad"
We love this motel and stay frequently whenever we are in Carlsbad. The location is perfect, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and well kept. The front desk staff are amazing and even remember us each time we go. It is right next to the freeway and some have commented that the noise is bad, but we've never been bothered by it, once in the room with […] the door shut, it's fine and we've stayed in many of the rooms on each side of the building. "pleasent and comfy"
my family and I enjoyed our stay, the front desk gentleman was polite and helpful, room was clean and beds were oh sooooo comfy, very close to legoland because that is where we had went to, and close to Vons, rite aide and gas. I just wish that the breakfast had a bit more variety, waffles are great, bagels, muffins cereal is pretty much what they had, […] and they have vending machines which is a plus for drinks and snacks. "Comfort Inn near Legoland -- extraordinarily noisy"
The property is located about 50 feet away and on grade with one of the noisiest freeways in Southern California. There are no noise barriers between the freeway and the hotel. As a result, the noise level is amazingly high, and continues all night long. Even behind closed doors and windows the noise is high. Not their fault, just a lousy location. "No hot breakfast and not so near Legoland."
First, while the description says rooms come with free hot breakfast, they do not. It is a cold continental breakfast. There is a single waffle iron people can use, but all of the guests have to share it, it makes one waffle at a time and takes three minutes to make. So for a family a four to get four waffles, you have to wait for people in front of […] you then stand there for 12 minutes making them. The hotel is in the same city as Legoland, but about 3.5 miles away, not the 1.5 miles that is advertised. Room is fine, the two beds are comfortable, but they are full and not queen beds. I was really happy with this hotel overall. Just two things that were not so great. It is literally right off the 5 so the noise was an issue. But we asked for a room on the other side of the hotel and with the door closed and the air running, we could not hear the traffic at all. The other issue I had was when I woke up the next morning, I had three […] bug bites on my arm. I cannot say that they DID come from the hotel bed, but I didn't notice them before I went to bed. "Clean and Convenient Location"
My main concern was the cleanliness of the room and Comfort Inn met that standard. It's definetly no resort but we had no intentions of staying in the room all day. The location was excellent approx 30-min drive from Sea World and about 7-minutes from Legoland. "Great Location near Legoland"
I was pleasantly surpised by the hospitality of the staff. Very courteous and attentive. The gentleman at the front desk allowed for us to check in early which allowed for us to take advantage of Legoland for a longer period of time. The continental breakfast was great and the rooms were extremely clean and tidy. Fridge and microwave were a plus considering […] the "resort" we stayed at the night before did not provide these.
