Located within the Nob Hill neighborhood in San Francisco, Calif., sits the Orchard Garden Hotel. Standing 10 stories tall, the hotel is adjacent from Chinatown Gate and 1 block from the Financial District. Union Square is 2 blocks from the hotel. 5 blocks from the property is the Theater District. The hotel provides complimentary car service to the San Francisco Financial District Monday through Friday.
Hotel Features.
Camel and amber tones, a central waterfall and bronze dividers embellished with leaf patterns grace the lobby. Roots Restaurant, located close to the Orchard Garden Hotel lobby, specializes in American fare influenced by Mediterranean cultures. Restaurant tabletops are accented with ivory linens providing contrasts to the green and saffron décor. Roots Bar serves cocktails and an extensive wine menu in a relaxed environment. The hotel offers conference rooms, a business center, and complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the property. A fitness facility is located on the premises, and special rates are available at a nearby fitness center.

Broad windows allow natural light into the 86 guestrooms of the Orchard Garden Hotel. Beds are dressed with pillowtop mattresses, Egyptian cotton linens, down duvets, and a selection of down and foam pillows. Standard amenities include high-definition LCD televisions, DVD players and complimentary wireless/wired Internet access. Clock radios come equipped with iPod docking stations. Refrigerators, minibars, and coffeemakers are provided in each room. Bathrooms offer Aveda toiletries, bathrobes, and slippers.
All guests staying in hotel guestrooms must be registered with the hotel.

Flagship stores ring Union Square, among the vanguard of West Coast retail. Chinatown begins at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, while Gold Rush-era mansions crown Nob Hill. South of Union Square, the convention center area includes the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Cable cars turn around at Powell and Market streets to head back to Fisherman's Wharf.

"Small Rooms, great location, expensive."
I read the reviews that the rooms were on the smaller side but they are simply too small for me. We had a king bed that faced a long desk and when my wife was working at the desk, I had to jump onto the bed to get by her. This is a good boutique option for downtown. Location is good for both business and vacation travelers. I've stayed here twice. I remember having a good sized room the first time, but that is probably because it was a double. The room with the king was a bit small, but adequate. The couch bed was a mess and bent beyond use. "Orchard Garden Hotel, good location"
This hotel is nicely located near Union Square and China Town in a safe neighborhood. Thou advertised as a king suite it was a normal sized room with a couch and a view of an alley. The bed was very comfortable. The only problem occurred when we tried to get our car in the morning. I called 15 minutes ahead of when I needed the car as instructed by […] the bellman the night before. It took 30 minutes for the car to arrive and when it did I was in a panic to get to the airport. My friend and I wheeled the luggage cart out of the lobby towards the car and started to load the car while the bellman, after telling us where to putt he luggage cart, looked on in a daze. I finally had to say to him, "isn't this YOUR job?" it was unbelievable. He seemed to be in a daze. I've never experienced such bad service before. "Orchard Garden Hotel San Francisco"
Staff were great and location right at the Chinatown Gate is fantastic. Just make sure to get something better than the "Standard" room. "Quality hotel, great location"
This hotel was beautiful and in a prime location for Union Square. I was dissappointed with their customer service, expecially at check-in. I didn't feel very welcomed or very informed. Parking was a bit of a cluster and the service representative was very limited in his responses to my questions for parking and overall information of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lifts not working, and little apology."
When we arrived at the hotel for a 4 night stay, we were advised the lifts were not working, so had to take all our bags up the stairs. We were assured by the staff they would be fixed that night. 3 nights later they were still dead. So we were forced to use the stairs constantly. Being up 8 floors, this was NOT a nice thing. Finally, on day 4 they […] fixed them. Late the day before we left What was disappointing was not the lift themselves, but the repeated assurance they were "fixing them" when they weren't, and the minimum apology on their being out of action. Especially when nothing was offered to compensate us for the inconvenience. Would I stay there again? Hard to say. "Pleasant Hotel, good Location"
Orchard Garden Hotel is just a few steps to the entry of China Town and within easy walking distance to the shopping area near Union Square and the Powell Street Trolley Car. It is quiet and well situated. Staff are helpful and polite. There are a variety of restaurants close by to suit any taste. Free internet is available in the room and if you need […] to print anything the business centre can be used for this purpose. The only thing that was a little annoying was that there were no facilities for doing laundry in the hotel and sending laundry out could prove a little expensive. The only other alternative was a laundry up the street which only takes $5 in quarters! All in all though, the hotel experience was a very positive one. Would definitely stay there again.
