Nearby, City Hall’s golden dome sparkles amid the Civic Center’s concrete gray. The live arts thrive at the San Francisco War Memorial & Performing Arts Center, one of the nation’s largest. A five-tiered Peace Pagoda marks Japantown. Castro District, the city’s main gay neighborhood, is a short ride away, as is Haight-Ashbury, the counterculture bastion that is a gateway to Golden Gate Park.

Comfortable beds, flat screen, modernish hotel. No water pressure in shower at any time. Cannot control room temperature it is central system. Cold tile in hallway and bathrooms. Do not walk one block in the wrong direction. This city is filled with homeless people, it's a real turnoff. I don't think we will be coming back to San Fran anytime soon!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"very good value & very good accommodation"
$25/day valet parking; didn't use shuttle, but will next visit as neighborhood is seedy. Service was good, including restaurant suggestions (area is Little Saigon -several Vietnamese restaurants nearby. This was best value in an area close to Union Square, including a good complementary breakfast. Clean, comfortable room and nice shower!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place, bad neighbourhood"
We loved the hotel, it was real nice. Clean rooms, free breakfast, and friendly staff. The only problem was its located in the so called "tenderloin" there are a lot of homeless and sketchy people. If you look like a tourist they eye you down or ask for money. However just a few blocks up and over, just a short walk you were on the trolley or market […] square. "good"
The hotel was good overall. People say the area isn't good, being in the Tenderloin district, but it's not dangerous, just a lot of homeless people. It is about 7-12 blocks from different areas of Union Square so be prepared to walk a little bit extra if you stay here. The continental breakfast was mediocre at best.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Smoke and Mirrors"
I'm not a person to write bad reviews, but our experience at this hotel was horrible! Incidentally, what happened got two thumbs DOWN, and the only reason I didn't express my boiling anger at the attendant was because she looked like she was retired! We were booked for an OCCUPIED room and walked in on the couple staying in there! Thankfully, we didn't […] go in all the way until. Secondly, the service was slow, the street was noisy, and the walls in the room were paper thin. I was very upset at the misleading reviews prior or the pictures that gave off an upscale feel. I couldn't say much about the service. We just planned on sleeping there for the night, but from the little experience we had this was what I would classify as a "crash" hotel for sure. "Not a bad place for the price"
The price of this hotel justifies its distance from the major attractions and the neighborhood its in. The room was clean and comfortable (although it may have been warm if the weather was warmer). The shuttle they run saved us several cab fares. The attached restaurant was closed and this was a major reason we stayed there. We thought food and drinks […] was always attached, but the place was closed for some reason. We got multiple reasons why. It forced us to take a couple of extra cab rides to eat. But, this isnt that big of a deal since there are so many great places to eat in SF. The continental breakfast was a little underwhelming with fruit and breads. But, it worked overall. The area is very sketchy after 5 PM. There are some little groceries within a block of the hotel if you need something. Not a bad place, overall. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great place!!"
Great service, great room, great location in little saigon, walking to union square and nob hill. The only drawback is that the rooms with adjoining doors are nice, but the walls are paper thin... I couldnt sleep due to the girls in the room next door.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A go-to hotel for the City"
When we go to San Francisco we stay at the Cova Hotel. For under $100 it is nice to know what you are going to get. Parking is reasonable and at the hotel. The decor is thoughtful. Rooms are clean and quiet. The beds are really comfortable. There are no weird scents or smoke. Desk people are friendly. The neighborhood is the Tenderloin, so not the best […] place to walk from. But if you plan on cabbing it, or driving it's centrally located. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"COVA Hotel"
Très bon hotel, bon service, bien entretenu. L'hotel est situé dans Tenderloin, un quartier extremement mal famé, c'est le seul hic. A recommander toutefoisGenuine Hotels.com guest review
