I was looking for a reasonably priced B&B in the City for a romantic 3 day weekend get away with my sweetie. And that's exactly what I found! I read many yelp reviews and chose the White Swan based on positive feedback. I was not disappointed. The onky negative I read was tge rooms were a bit dated. This is true, but the Swan is going for that English […] country charm & I think that adds to it. Nothing in San Francisco is cheap, but by comparison the White Swan Inn is very reasonable & with the included breakfast and free in room beverages, you more than get what you pay for! We were very pleased with the hotel and the staff is amazingly friendly and attentive. We look forward to our next visit. Read more

The White Swan is a quaint older property near Nob Hill. When I arrived, I had to wait 20 minutes to get into my room- the door into the hotel is locked at night, and the front desk clerk was away from the front desk. The hotel room smelled bad. The bed was comfortable. The price was reasonable, and overall a decent value.

Quaint hotels with many perks-daily cooked breakfast, water and sodas in frig, wine and snacks nightly,gas fireplace in room.Down Knob Hill on Bush, 10 minute walk from Moscone Center.Bathroom clean, but small (bedroom was large)and street noise significant at times. Overall I rate a very nice experience and would gladly return.

Since the big names were sold out for my conference, I decided to try a local boutique hotel. I was not disappointed. It is a lovely, quaint little place with a friendly staff. Free internet was nice. The only thing was that for business travelers there was not a comfy desk at which to sit and do some work.

Folks at the front desk were helpful. The hotel was clean and quiet despite being on a busy street. The room itself was lovely, large, comfortable. They included complementary drinks in a fridge, in the room. The decor was not over the top; it was homey. Having a fire place in the room added to the sense of comfort though not heat. Breakfast was lovely; much more like a European hotel than a continental minimum and the ambiance in the common area was relaxed -a haven in the middle of the buzz of the city. Other guests seemed equally pleased. I did not have a chance to attend the evening wine/cheese but heard positive comments about it from other guests. The staff was extremely helpful even prior our arrival. My wife called several times because of our late flight. We barely made the BART, and missed the last cable car. They advised against the 8 block walk and directed us to the most likely place to catch a cab, only a short $5 fare. The staff at White Swan and Hotels.com not only refunded the rooms, but rebooked us for Saturday night, at the weekday rate when we returned to S.F. after taking care of our emergency. All of this with unbelievable grace. Hotel itself is historical, clean and charm abounds. Rooms are older, TVs brand new flat screen. Internet fairly fast wireless. In room dorm type fridge with complimentary water and sodas. Rooms can be stuffy, no AC, but open window was still very quite, cool breeze and box fan in the room. The beds and pillows are very, very comfortable. Breakfast and evening wine and cheese good. Wonderful chance to strike up conversation with the most eclectic fellow guests, not the usual curt, even rude encounters typical of guests at large hotels. Locale is excellent, very close to Geary, Chinatown, Wharf, all within walking distance, but your calves may burn. Pros: Staff, comfort, charm, B'fast, evening snack, in room drinks, fellow guests. The location is very convenient to Union Square and to the meeting I was attending on Nob Hill. The hotel is small, very quaint, quite comfortable. The staff is pleasant and cooperative. They hailed me a cab on a very busy Saturday night when cabs were about as scarce as hen's teeth.

Komfortable Betten, jedoch sehr hoch (geschätzte Höhe der Liegefläche über 1 Meter), was für kleine, ältere Personen ein Problem darstellen kann.
