Pleasantly surprised with this place. The rooms and grounds were very clean and well maintained. The in-room air purifiers, reverse-osmosis filtered drinking water, and chlorine filters in the shower were a fabulous bonus. The beds were ok, I would suggest bringing your pillow from home as the ones provided are very thin (although clean). The parking […] lot was very small so be prepared to park on the street. And the 'continental breakfast' consisted of low quality coffee and muffins. Perhaps taking advantage of the fridge in your room and buying your own food would be a better choice. I lived in San Francisco for three years and go back very often. Most hotels there cost more than three times what this one does, and can be noisy and a hassle. All you have to do is figure out the buses and not be in a big hurry and the Country Hearth Inn is the perfect choice. It is in an unbeautiful neighborhood, but is just a few streets below the […] most stunning blocks of Pacific Heights, and is right next to the Presidio. You can ****PARK YOUR CAR**** there off street and for free, but there aren't many spaces. The people who run ther Country Hearth are very sweet and helpful. It is amazingly easy to find. The lobby smells. My room was filthy. Parking is horrible. I have been staying here every year at the same time and everytime it's getting worse. I should have learned my lesson.
