Flagship stores ring Union Square, among the vanguard of West Coast retail. Chinatown begins at Grant Avenue and Bush Street, while Gold Rush-era mansions crown Nob Hill. South of Union Square, the convention center area includes the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Cable cars turn around at Powell and Market streets to head back to Fisherman's Wharf.

We arrived around noon and instead of us having to come back after our room was cleaned we were upgraded to a suite so we could check in right away. That was very convenient for us. The room was nice and close to our destinations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An honest review!"
I wrote a very lengthy review on this hotel but have to cut it to less than 1500 characters. Let me be honest with the people who are viewing this room in hopes that they have found a gem in the rough. If it's for a business trip lasting 1 day, by all means go ahead and stay here but get out as soon as you can. For those traveling with loved ones, you […] need to ask yourself if you really love them. If the answer is yes, please consider a different place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a good breakfast - only offered waffles and bread! Oh, and bananas - plus coffee, tea, hot choc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"some streangths, some weaknesses"
The hotel is located three block west of Union Square and very close to the cable cars and other public transportation. The room was clean and appeared to be recently remodeled. My room was on the 6th floor and noise from the surrounding area could be heard. The continental breakfast centered around bananas, toast, juice and toaster waffles. The hotel […] is located north of the Tenderloin district. If you walk south before getting to Union square, expect to walk through that district. valet parking is available, but for a reasonable price (for the city) you can park in a garage nearly next door to the hotel. I would book the room again. For the price it had enough positives to be well worth it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great service, but needs heavy renovation.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I booked 2 twin bed rooms. The person who I booked the rooms with asked me if I wanted the beds put together and I said yes. When we got to our rooms we saw that the beds were separate. When we went to the reception to tell about it the man told us that they don't do such thing as putting beds together. It's either the communication between hotels.com […] and Adante Hotel or the receptionist was simply rude. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient Hotel"
I was quite satisfied with my one night stay at Adante Hotel. I was impressed with the lobby's decor, the friendly, personal and professional attitude of the front desk staff and the cleanliness of the property. I will certainly recommend this hotel to my friends, family and acquaintances.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Overall the Hotel is good considering the price. Not to far from the major attractions. My only concern is with their elevator. There was a sign about keeping the weight to 3 people with luggage or 5 "regular" people. Any more than that and it doesn't work. I think they need to work on it because it would rattle and shake while going up and down.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good for a brief stay"
It suited our needs. Only thing was being awakened early in the morning by a child who kept hollering for the father to let her in. Finally he let her in and we tried to sleep and moments later the kid is back at it, this time i went over there and bang on the door and told them to keep their kid inside or else.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Horrible Service"
The staffs at this hotel are rude and inconsiderate. I would never stay here again. One of the staff member yelled at me for not taking his advice on vallet parking. The room were small and no ac. This is by far the rudest and horrible hotel i have ever stayed. Will never stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"We always stay HERE when in San Fran!"
We always stay in this hotel when in the city. It's great for the price. It's older with no extras, but it's always clean, only a 5 min walk to Union Square, and the cheapest hotel in the Union Square area!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for..."
OPINIONS: The room was small, but ok. The price was excellent compared to the other rates I was seeing that week. Not the best block in the area. Lot's of homeless and random people milling about. Many of the people that I saw staying there looked a bit sketchy... FACTS: The water pressure and temperature were severely lacking. I could barely get […] what I would call "luke warm" water in the shower... The main issue I had was the day I checked in. The police had one of the other guests on the floor in the hall when I got there. Not exactly what you expect to see as a business traveler. It was cheap though ($79/nt) and it served the purpose. Lots of restaurants and shopping within 5 blocks. I wouldn't want my wife to stay there alone, but it was fine for me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great budget hotel"
It s quiet. I enjoy my sleep. The room is clean. The service is decent.Genuine Expedia guest review
ALTHOUGH THE HOTEL OVERALL IS FAIRLY NICE ON THE INSIDE, I FOUND MYSELF BEING UNASSISTED AN INCONVENIENCED BY MORNING STAFF.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"got what i paid for"
The elevator was a little sketchy and the painting were a little strange but for the amount I paid, I was satisfied. The night we stayed there, I heard a few sirens and a couple of bums yelling at each other. But overall its a good spot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"good for students, economic hotel"
the service is very good, and the location is very convenience, you can walk to the union square, many restaurants nearby. it is not a luxury hotel, the breakfast is very simple, but consider of the price, I think it is worthy.Genuine Expedia guest review
Dirty room, very uncomfortable bed and very noisy at night, not a good stay will not stay there again. cheap but not worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"bad customer services!!"
staff never answered call from our room, and frontdesk person is NOT kind at all. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not so cheap near Union Square, and noisy hotel"
The hotel is an old, small hotel. I knew this going in so that was not a surprise. I was disappointed by how noisy the hotel was. The stairs (which EVERYONE seeemed to take because the cramped tiny elevator was too small and very slow!) made alot of noise. Internet access was very slow and intermittant. I am VERY surprised by how many hotels that seem […] to cater to business travelers have such poor internet access. The price of service and routers has come down so much that it is surprising how many hotels just have bad internet! Also, there is a single person working behind the desk. When there is any kind of a line to check in, it can take forever(!!!!) to check in. If you are just looking fr a tiny place near Union Square to sleep and bathe, then this might be the hotel for you, but be ready for a slow and noisy time while you are here. "Comfortable and very clean hotel!"
My experience was good. My girlfriend and I really enjoy our staying for almost a week. The service was very good. Some disadvantages are: location is three blocks from main street where you take most of the buses, but If you don't mind walking everyday this is a good choice; another thing is there's only one elevator and quiet slow. Overall I had a […] wonderful week! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Very pleasant experience"
This hotel will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2014. It is an old, small hotel but very well maintained. Rates are extraordinarily low considering what you get: a clean room, a large bathroom (at least in our room), a firm bed, coffee machine, TV, iron and board, great shower with lots of hot water, and a continental breakfast (coffee/tea, assorted […] muffins, toast, and bananas). A 5-min walk from Union Square. Very courteous and pleasant staff. Neighborhood has MANY small cafes within a block, including a tremendous Chinese fish restaurant across the street and the Marakesh restaurant a block away (on O'Farrell). Downsides: rather small room, no closet (but a clothes rack on the wall), streets a bit dicey after 10pm. But overall, the value cannot be beat. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Overnight stay"
No frills hotel, smallish room and elevator that had 3 person capacity. I just needed a room for the night and this hotel provided it at a cheap price. Walls were thin so you hear the comings and goings on the hallway. Breakfast was included but it was basically toast, jam, butter, muffins and drinks (coffee and juice from dispensers).Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good deal for the location"
I've stayed in numerous "2 star" San Francisco hotels thru the years and the Adante is probably the best. It was clean, comfortable and a great location if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Which I did!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First time excellent, second time just OK"
It is my second time in this hotel. I came back because my first experience was excellent. A big room with a nice bathroom,.... This second time, my experience has been a little worse, but anyway the location, cleanliness,... was OK, but the size of the room, the bath and the WIFI were quite disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good"
The breakfast is free, wifi too. But the locatione is a litte far from downtown.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel for my needs."
Older hotel, not a 5 star, but, easily fulfilled my needs. Centrally located. I will stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Meh, Save Some Bucks and Walking"
Well, you get what you pay for. Room was small BUT clean. Older hotel, could use updating the wall paper and paintings drawn on the wall and framed??! The continental breakfast was like buying a cupcake and juice at 7 eleven. The lobby's ok, but who sits in a lobby anyway? Parking is $35 but you can save yourself $5 bucks by parking two doors down from […] the hotel at the enclosed parking lot and paying $30 for 24 hour parking with an attendant there around the clock. The really good thing? Is that is only 5 blocks from Union Plaza! Just walk left out of the hotel, and straight down Geary and you're there! Yes Martha, there are bums asking you for change but just say no and your good (the bum's are looking for the rich folks anyway). Walking out of the hotel to the right towards Polk and Van Ness Streets will cause you to walk through the "Tenderloin" where it's gets pretty sketchy and you will encounter a lot of bums. Overall, this hotel is a place of convenience and not luxury. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"staying during a professional meeting"
Stayed four nights for a conference and we were on a tight budget. The hotel is located very close to key places like chinatown and market street. We were able to walk several places without difficulty or fear. Some streets are edgy but the hotel is still in a safe place. The room was small but clean and had everything we needed. The beds were not the […] most confrotable ones. If you are going for a resort type of experience, not your place. If you are under a budget and looking for a nice place to stay, where your things are safe, and you get clean bathrooms, towels, tv and such, then this is it. I would stay there again, since we don't like to spend all our traveling budgets in hotels you only go to sleep on. Our flight was late at night, so we were able to store our bags in safe room which was nice. The room came with a coffee maker which was very handy, and they give you coffee and tea bags. Breakfast was simple: coffee, tea, orange juice, bread (a toaster), bananas and jelly. Enough to get the day going. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Cheap and Run-down"
Not a great place at all. 1. Bad area (very loud and lot's of homeless people, etc. 2. Staff did not make wake up call that I requested even after I reminded them five hours earlier. 3. Poor breakfast....very limited variety. (toast, coffee, juice) 4. Small, run-down rooms. 5. Elevator very slow.Genuine Expedia guest review
