"Don't let them have a credit card..."
The staff was friendly during my stay and the room was adequate and clean. However, upon returning home I found a charge of $62 on my credit card. I called the hotel and was told that the charge was for the restaurant that I never visited. When I explained this, I was told that accounting would call me. Response by Orchard Hotel We wish to express our sincerest apologies for the posting error. Please be assured that we took immediate action upon hearing about the issue. On March 23rd, having received a call from the guest questioning the charge, we researched the matter and discovered that another hotel guest had written an incorrect room number on their dinner check. Our Account team credited the first guest accordingly and attempted to confirm the reversal via phone, but received a message that the voice mailbox was full. We are sorry for any misunderstanding and regret if this incident may have marred what would have otherwise been an enjoyable visit to San Francisco.

"Not impressed"
Unfortunately, I was somewhat disappointed with the Orchard Hotel. My husband and I stayed there for 1 night during a weekend in San Francisco. The rate we got via Expedia was fairly high. Pros: proximity to Union Square, Powell BART station, and many eateries. The bed was very comfortable. Cons: The carpet was slightly "damp" over the entire room when […] we checked in. We weren't certain if it was from a carpet cleaning or a leak somewhere - but being that we checked in at 10:30 pm (late flight), we were too exhausted to switch rooms. It smelled like mildew the next morning. In the morning, my husband tried to take a shower and we had to call maintenance since there was no hot water. They did manage to fix it fairly quickly. "WARNING"
WARNING - room 207 - On arrival the hotel was good, room was very nice and staff very helpful, but that's where it stops, if you book into this hotel make sure you check the room for noise. I had hoped to have a good nights sleep prior to a long flight the next day...the clanking and screeching from the cable cars was dreadful, when I went down at 11.30pm […] to enquire as to when the trams/cable cars stopped running I was asked "Where did I want to go?" "To Sleep" was my answer, I was told they stopped between 12.15am through to 1am but no offer to change rooms, just told you learn to sleep with it!! once they actually stop at 1am, make the most of it because the cable cars start up again at 4.30am.
