"Room for improvement"
I like that this hotel is old and locally owned, but I wouldn't say it was a great place to rest after a red-eye flight from the east coast. Our room was tiny and had a faintly musty smell to it. When we opened the window to get some air, the twenty-somethings in the room next door were smoking on the fire escape. And we realized we had to keep the […] windows closed anyway because Hyde Street is LOUD at night - siren after siren, people yelling, helicopters. The room itself was clean, the bed was comfortable, but for the price, I expected something a little better quality. The comforters and decor were pretty old, the bedside lamps were tiny and really dim, the light above the sink in the bathroom didn't work, the bathroom fan was insanely loud. Nob Hill Hotel was such a wonderful surprise considering the excellent price. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the free wine and cheese upon arrival. The rooms are rather small, but we don't spend much time in our hotel rooms anyway. The bathroom was nice and very clean. The victorian decorations gives the place a very personal touch, […] and it is anything but ordinary. The fitness room was a nice added bonus, as was the continental breakfast. I wouldn't say the hotel is in the best area for visitors, but we had no trouble getting along by foot, public transportation, and taxi. "Bad Experience at Bad Hotel"
This was a total nightmare. We had been told room would accommodate 3. Daughter ended up sleeping on floor because it wouldn't. Toilet plugged. Elevator broke. Found contact lens in bath tub. Very courteous staff - one helped me with some last minute paperwork - printing and faxing. Continental breakfast was nothing special but coffee and toast was solid. The hotel is a fine example of a small, early 20th century hotel. The room was very comfortable and well-appointed with a coffee maker in the room. It looked out onto a small roof garden and we enjoyed it. A light continental breakfast was included and there's a small trattoria on site, where we enjoyed a good lunch. Cute Old Hotel, very victorian decor, ( lots of dark jewel colors in the rooms, with tassels and what nots, someone had a field day with the gold stencils on the walls ) Rooms were small but with newish looking private bathrooms. Front desk upgraded us to a king size bed on arrival. BUT we did arrive during a very rare heat wave and there is no air […] condtioning. A fan provided in the room did not provide much relief and because we were on the top floor the room didn't cool with the outside temperature as one would think . BUT! they did change our room for the third night and we were much happier. Breakfast was on the lower end of "continental" but coffee and toast was enough to get us going in the morning. Slidt og nusset hotel. sjovt med indretning med "gl. ting". P-valvet virker fint, men hvis du alligevel ikke skal bruge bilen, så benyt en af P-husene (bililgere). Hotellet Ok. Dobbeltsengene noget små, bedst til nyforelskede. Reservationen kiksede da tre unge skulle dele lille dobbeltseng. Parkeringsservice god men dyr. Ingen udsigt. Bad og toilet ok. Cet hotel est certe un peu vieillot et kitch mais il est très bien placé pour découvrir San Francisco. C'est calme et on est très bien accueilli.
