We had a nice stay here, rooms were a bit small, but comfortable enough for our purpose. Close to Union Square, and cable cars, 20-30 minute walk to fishermans wharf. Our TvVwas not working so they gave us a new room which was much nicer, bathroom was huge. The hotel rooms were clean and looked newly furnished. "Only if you have no other alternative"
It was okay for what it was. Run down and shabby. Could barely move around in the room. What was strange was that the bathroom was bigger than the room. Talk about poor design. "Good hotel for its price"
The Super 8 has a really nice staff and is located close to so many public transportation lines. The rooms aren't amazing but they are good for sleeping. The windows are also really thick so although there was a lot of noise outside sometimes you couldn't really hear anything inside. Union Square does have a lot of homeless people (compared to other […] cities) but its more something that is just annoying rather than scary. I would definitely stay here over some places in the Civic Center etc. We didn't have a car during our whole stay and thought it was easy to get around everywhere from here. The only complaint was that the air in the rooms was sometimes a little stale but then again every single room had DirecTV. For a Super 8 it was pretty awesome. The hotel was old and smelly, perhaps a cigarette burn on the covers of the bed in a "non-smoking" bedroom. The area was not pleasant and scary, but near shops and restaurants , about 4 blocks.
