The hotel room was depressing, the lobby was depressing. The "coffee" at breakfast was non-potable, the breakfast room was depressing. The neighborhood was close to the action but on the edge of a pretty sketchy area. Beds and pillows were too soft. The block where the hotel was situated seemed rather seedy, but a couple blocks further down, it was very nice. The hotel was old, but clean and comfortable. PROS: -Hotel staff was polite and helpful. -Comfortable bed. -Free wireless internet. -Provided valet parking was much cheaper than the daily rate at the garage across the street. -Big bathroom compared to the size of the room. -Lots of Indian & Thai restaurants within 2 blocks if you're into that. -There was always a movie playing in the lobby if you […] felt like watching. NEUTRAL: -9 minute walk to BART transportation. -Small room, but this is normal for a city. CONS: -My room and bathroom doors had been painted over several times, so it took a body slam to open or shut them. -Wireless internet only worked when I called the front desk to ask them to restart the router. -Numerous homeless people on this and surrounding blocks made the sidewalks smell like pee or worse. "Brief Stay, Left after 20 minutes"
Upon entering the hotel, we realized that we were in for a bit of a treat. The lobby was very small, but inviting. The front desk clerk was phenomenal. Great guy! Once we got into our room, it was a nightmare. We booked a king-sized bed smoking room. Well, the bed took up the entire room, with just enough room to "scoot" around it to get to the other […] side of the room. It was seriously like 7 inches between the bed and the other furniture. We could sit on the bed and use the desk or the tv! After withnessing the sketchy neighborhood that the hotel was located in, we decided that we couldn't stay at the Super 8. Not too bad a place really. Little dated but so what. Hilarious elevator; a throwback in time but again so what. We were there to sightsee. Pleased with staff responsiveness. "Hôtel situé en plein centre"
Hôtel très correct, chambres propres et relativement petites pour quatre (2 adultes et 2 ados) mais ce n'est que pour dormir donc on s'en accommode sans problème. Très bon petit déjeuner avec du choix (pain de mie gris ou blanc, gaufres surgelées et excellentes, petites viennoiseries, 4 sortes de corn flakes, yoghourt, fruits, thé, café,et jus d'orange […] et de pomme) . N'oublions pas que nous sommes aux States et qu'ils ne mangent pas comme nous et certainement pas au petit-déjeuner (hamburger, saucisses, poulet...). Salle petite mais nous n'avons jamais eu de problème, personne avant 8h30. Pas de parking à l'hôtel mais à 2min parking sécurisé avec valet pour 25 $ par jour. Hôtel très bien situé, à côté de Powell Street et du quartier commerçant et grand choix de restaurants et proche des transports en commun. Le seul hic, ce sont les sdf très nombreux mais pas agressifs du tout, juste parfois très bruyants la nuit; mais je dirais de manière générale qu'il y a beaucoup de sans abri à San Francisco et ce, dans tous les quartiers. Un peu plus bas (500 m) de l'hôtel Super 8 se trouve l'Hilton et les sdf dorment également devant l'hôtel. Je trouve que le choix du Super 8 est judicieux, notamment en ce qui concerne l'emplacement (permet de revenir à pied le soir du restaurant) et surtout au niveau prix, ce n'est tout de même que pour dormir et les chambres sont peut être vieillottes mais très propres. Hotel très bien situé pour découvrir San Francisco. Le confort n'est pas des plus remarquables, mais l'accueil est très bon. Petit déjeuner satisfaisant et possibilité de parking de la voiture à un prix très abordable. Pour deux nuits, bien situé, à un prix très convenable, c'était parfait.
