A great value in a really good area, Nob Hill on one side, Union Square on the other, and not in the Tenderloin. Four things I looked for when booking for a night out in the City. All four were perfectly satisfied with Executive Hotel Vintage Court. Bonus that the room was very clean and more than enough for a night out. Now, there wasn't a breathtaking […] view out our window (we had a view of another wall in the building), but that's the last thing we look for in a hotel (and if that's high on your list, sorry). My wife and I just loved our stay at this quaint botique hotel! It is centrally located--just a block and a half away from Chinatown gate! We got a room on the 8th floor; it was clean and quiet; just right for our stay in SF. We needed a room this quiet and away from noises that could come from the street. Many places in the middle of the city can be noisy.. Our room was in a quiet alley way, though in the summer with windows open it could be noiser.. Still the quietest place in the city I've been.. About 2 blocks from union square (great location), great night staff (day staff was a bit more "all business").. The hotel was in a good location and a great price. We had read the reviews before and weren't expecting anything fabulous. The reviews were right.... The rooms themselves are very old, which I was ok with, but it smelled old and kind of funky. The walls were paper thin. You could here people's conversation word for word.

I am very disappointed with this hotel. The main problem was that they are NOT a wheelchair accessible hotel but when we called they assured us that they were. The hallways are extremely narrow. We were told we would have a first floor room for easy wheelchair access. We get there and we were put on the third floor. The elevator could not accomodate […] a wheelchair. This stay caused to forcefully cancel the next two night stay, had to forcefully find another destination and there were hidden fees that were not listed or verbally stated when we checked in. We had to use Valet parking because they do not have their own. When we checked out, we were charged $45 for valet!! On a positive note, the employees were very helpful and cordial. Read more

Both me and my girlfriend liked staying here. I understand this is not for everyone. For e.g., if you need a parking spot, don't stay here. Parking anywhere downtown SF is very expensive, around $30/night. Good service. My girlfriend asked for an extra pillow and they brought it up in about 5min. Clean room, nothing super fancy. The hotel is situated very close to major modes of public transportations including the BART, and MUNI systems. We were disgusted, I brought it to the front desks attention and all he said was "eeewww". The room was filthy, dark and very poorly decorated. It was a very depresing place to have to stay. There was black mold in all corners of the bath tub and dirt in all the corners of the floor in the bathroom. There was dust on all the tables and what I didn't dust off myself was still there when we left 5 days later. The room smelled like a wet dog […] so they would open the window which had no screen and that would make the room cold but the heat had been turned off in the building so we couldn't have any heat. This was a nice quaint hotel. The Vintageness of the hotel was there. The only bad thing is that with this vintage is it is vintage. The windows were thin as paper. You could hear EVERYTHING... I mean EVEYTHING..... The blinds in the room didn't close tight and the lights from the outside lit up our room so nicely, that we didn't even need to turn on […] our room lights.... there was plenty of light to see. Not so good if you are trying to sleep though. The location is really good for getting to places... nice and central to downtown. With this nice central / downtown location comes all the wonderful noise and people of downtown to all hours of the night. Trust me... we heard a lot of things we wish we hadn't. Our room was small, but comfortable. It would be uncomfortable for a family, but for 2 people, it was fine. The bathroom was tiny, and oddly shaped. Opening the door was a challenge, as it was at a very odd angle. The location is excellent. There are numerous bars and restaurants around the area, and Chinatown is literally a block away. Of course this is an older hotel, so there are some issues, but overall it is comfortable. Can't beat the location that is less than a block from the cable cars. Walk up the hill and a cable car will be along shortly. The concierge was very helpful with suggestions. We upgraded our room and it looked out onto the side street. Booked a GREAT deal on this room the day before through no-hassle hotels.com. Perfect location in Union Square area. Valet parking was a little pricey, but worth it. Manager's wine reception from 5-6pm. Room was large, bed was comfy. Absolutely would recommend it!

We stayed at this hotel July 2010. We picked it because it was "old" and quaint and had a location near Union Square and Chinatown. Location was great to everything including restaurants that we enjoyed. We had a king bedroom on the 8th floor. Bed was comfortable and plenty of room. We expected smaller after reading reviews. Wine reception was great […] although they really should have some snacks available . Hotel staff was very friendly and went over and above trying to find us tickets to a sold out Giants game. Parking garage a block away. Ablock or so from Chinatown. We enjoyed restaurants of Lori's diner, Sears Fine foods, and Oriental Pearl ? on Grant street. Roxannes breakfast across the street was tasteless. Definitely recommend Lori's Diner a short walk away for breadfast and lunch. Sears had great food for a great dinner experience. The chinese restaurant was awesome! the hotel was cozy, friendly ,and felt like we stepped into the past for a moment. We would definitely return! Read more

Loved the location, only a few blocks from union square and walking distance to China Town and Fishermans Wharf. Room was clean and tidy. Had a bad smell though that was very noticable each time you entered the room but was fine afters a few minutes. No fan is the bathroom therefore the moisture builds up in the room.
