The location is really convenient (5 minutes walking distance to union square). Hotel is famous for its sky lounge and overall quality is 4+ out of 5 BUT parking is always expensive as it is in SF downtown and WiFi is charged in the room. Other than those two aspects, I'd stay here anytime I need to go to SF.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel-pretty close to AT&T Park"
It was nice and the people are friendly. The two things I would say would be my only complaints are the price of parking when your a guest at the hotel and paying good money to stay and our TV was broken in the room and they couldnt fix it. Overall though the rooms were nice and very clean and the staff were really nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"For a short stay in the Bay Area"
The Marriott Marquis is an elegant, modern, very busy hotel in the very center of San Francisco. The rooms are very comfortable, the staff is excellent overall. We were shocked to learn that a daily connection to the internet is not free in the rooms, as most hotels, big or small, do nowadays. The Marriott charges $15.00 a day for internet, that is […] really not attractive, especially when you know the price of the rooms. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location"
We enjoyed everything about our stay except for the daily parking fee to keep our car in the hotel garage. This fee was not mentioned on the hotel website and should be as it added an additobnal $200 to our over-all stay. Had we been made aware of this fee in advance we would have looked @ other hotel options and will do so in the future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An all around great deal"
Centrally located in the heart of SF, walking distance to just about everything and a staff that was so genuinely friendly it was almost surreal. The rooms are average and somewhat generic, but clean. Our only complaint was $15.95 a day for wi-fi...when you could exit the hotel and get it free just about anywhere...I think even the homeless people had […] free wi-fi. Quiet, pleasant hotel. The 39th floor bar with a great view is also a plus. Not easy to get a cab from here on Fridays and Saturdays.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A Business travelers hotel; not a tourist hotel"
A large anonymous hotel whose apparent focus is business travelers. I have stayed here many times as a business traveler and always liked it. This was the first trip where I stayed on a purely personal basis. I felt less valued on this trip as a non-business customer. The standard scrambled eggs, bread and fruit breakfast buffet was a total ripoff at […] $29 per person and we paid almost $70 for two people for breakfast! Skip the Mariott and head across the street to Mel's Diner for breakfast. The room was strange - it felt as if they had an extra space and moved a bed and tv into it at the last minute. The room was a large space but strangely empty of furniture. There was ZERO view. It felt a little prison like. I will seek another hotel the next time I am in San Francisco. "Moving on Down"
I had originally booked a room with 2 doubles. They did not have any doubles available when I checked in so they checked me into a King Room. We still had to move the next day because the additional people didn't stay there the first nigth which is the only reason I agreed to the King Room. Once we moved the room was not as nice and did not have as […] good of a view, which was part of the deal. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Customer-Oriented Hotel Manager"
The Hotel Manager was most accommodating of my late flight schedule. I had requested an extension of the checkout time and I was graciously given a complimentary reasonably extended time. I was also able to check in on the date I arrived, 25th December, as soon as I arrived at the hotel around 0930H--I did not have to wait until the check-in time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great for whole family, or weekend girls trip."
Stayed on the 25th floor. Room size was small. Forgot about paying to park - valet is 60.00 and i guess we could have parked across the street for 20.00. Proximity to shopping and other things were great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice location, service and rooms"
Great location and service. The only complain that despie the great location many rooms look to the interior of the building. For people that have jetlate this is terrible because you do not known the time of the day and you will miss the all nice view from this great building. The restaurant and bar on the roof are amaizingGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to all: cable cars, Bart/Caltrain, shopping"
We had a fine stay. There was a convention going on during the dates of our stay, so the hotel was really crowded at certain times of the day. The bar on floor 39 was a great view, just slow service (Friday eve). Our room was quite a long way/walk from the main desk and front lobby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"home"
Our Stay was awesome. The location was excellent for us. I cant say enough about the staff. Always pleasant and always very helpful. The only thing that prevented me from giving the hotel a 5 star was the fact that there wasn't any Internet in the room without a charge. There was Internet in the lobby but extremely slow. And the charge for it in your […] room to me was too pricey. When shopping for a hotel, we were looking for a continental breakfast and Internet. I am not sure if Expedia had it wrong or if the hotel had it wrong or just very misleading. Either way we couldn't find the continental breakfast and wound up using our own data plan for internet. When we did have breakfast in the hotel, It wound up costing us over $60. for the two of us. We should have gone across the street to Denny's ... would have been a lot cheaper. If you don't mind spending money then this is the hotel for you. I have nothing bad to say about the hotel itself and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"City View Room-1 King Bed?? NOT"
I reserved and PAID for (upfront) a CityView Room-1 King Bed and our view was the back of a building overlooking an alley(NOT GOOD). At first the hotel clerk said that the King Bed was NOT available until I told him that I called twice to make sure that my husband and I had a King Bed, due to the fact that he is 6'4. After I pushed the issue with the […] hotel clerk...then he so "easily" found 1 King Bed that WAS available. You guys really need to teach your clerks to "think before they speak" too soon..it makes them look bad. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location Near Powell BART STATION!"
The MARRIOTT MARQUIS HOTEL on 4th Street is conveniently located near the Powell BART/MUNI stations, so you can just take the BART from either Airport (Oakland or San Francisco). The room was very clean and the beds were super comfortable. Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful, and even though the check-in time is listed as 4pm, we arrived at about […] 2:45pm and were just going to ask them to hold our luggage, but they let us check-in at that time. Another thing that was good was the roll away bed: It's pretty large and we needed it for a friend who was just staying for two nights. The reason it only gets 4-stars is the refrigerator in the room is already stocked with SUPER EXPENSIVE drinks like water and soda, so you can't use it for your own stuff. If you move a drink it automatically charges to the room Another draw back is that you get charged if you want to use wi-fi or wired internet in your room. Even though the guest (free) wifi shows up on the list of options on my iPhone and Tablet in the room, we were on the 8th floor, I couldn't connect. My friend says it works in the lobby. Ice is free and the room comes with coffee maker and free coffee. There's also an ironing board, iron, shampoo & conditioner, face and body soap bars, body lotion, and hair dryer. The room was very quiet; but maybe nobody was booked in the rooms next to us, not sure. The hotel was also in a good location close to Walgreens, 7-11, Mel's Diner, and Denny's. "Good Hotel"
We had a nice stay and enjoyed our great view from the room. A couple of issues we did have...The valet is around the corner from the main entrance. It was not easy to get to. The second was on the day we checked out there was a parade by the hotel that shut down the street. It would have have been nice to know that was happening when we checked in […] so we could plan around it for our exit. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Won't stay again"
Prices for valet are outrageous!!! Couldn't get room service to deliver a bottle of champagne to our room until After 5pm. We wanted it around 4 while we were getting ready for our event. Had to go across street to a liquor store. Way too crowded. We've stayed in much better hotels in sf and won't be returning to this one.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location - but very busy & noisy hotel lobby"
We had a great room, good view, nice & roomy, tidy and clean, and the location of the hotel is smack in the middle of downtown SF. So, what's not to like? The only reason I rate this hotel overall as 4, not 5, is the noisy lobby and bar: the hotel is way too big for it's own good (25 floors?): the hotel lobby resembled a noisy bus terminal at most times […] - millions of people milling in and out, crowding the lobby with traffic jams created by luggage carts that make navigating in and out of the hotel an utterly unpleasent mess. The hotel bar is right in the middle of all this, so don't expect any quiet down time, you won't find it there. Better leave and head across the streat to a quiet local bar.
